I think I'm only awake right now (it is 3 in the afternoon) because of the
coffee I drank this morning. For some reason this past weekend I felt
incredibly tired and slept nearly all of it, staying awake only maybe 4-6
hours at a time if that, yet this morning I woke up after 3 hours of napping
in the chair and was wide awake. But, shortly after drinking coffee, my whole
body started getting tired even though I wasn't sleepy lol. I went and ate
lunch with my mother and came back home, and now I'm feeling inspired to write
a phlog post, after which I'll either nap or exercise -- whichever my body
decides to make its way to first.

For the past few days I've been scanning lots and lots of my artwork -- mainly
things I drew as a child that's all been kept in various conditions. The main
goal was not only to digitize these old drawings, but also to sort out the
comics that I drew for several years and organize them as best I can. Some of
the punchlines I still find funny, and the art and style itself I think is
endearing, so I'm hoping to preserve as much as I can and perhaps recreate
some of it. The main series of comics I wrote as a child started in third
grade and was called Silly Squirl (which stuck even when I learned how to
spell squirrel a year or so later). I remember drawing hundreds of these,
although quite a lot of them have been lost to time. There's a lot of them
that don't hold up completely -- the jokes were mostly all made for myself --
but my childhood heart and humor is wrapped up in them, and that's extremely
valuable to me. They represent times from before my dad died and after that
from when I was beginning to share myself and my artwork on a much smaller
internet. They represent worlds that were and are a part of me even if they're
completely changed or cut off now. They're not the most skilled things ever,
but again they're my childhood heart. Art is just beautiful like that.

Aside from scanning artwork, for the past month I've been playing Minecraft
nearly every night with one of my closest friends on a self-hosted Paper
server (which is a Spigot fork, which is a CraftBukkit fork, for anyone who's
hosted plugin'ed Minecraft in the past). The first thing we did was find a
Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Biome and build a huge house out of cherry wood and
leaves and slowly we've expanded more and more and more to an insane amount of
different over-the-top structures, from a basement that looks like a boss
dungeon to a pond with a ramen truck to a definitely-not-PETA-approved barn to
a hobbit hole to most recently a huge library and loom house in the village
not far from our home. One of our other friends also built an insane bridge
from our mountain to the next and a super useful tiny farm that we keep using
for carrots lol. I've been keeping a log of everything that we're building and
doing, and it's been really, really fun. Beyond simply playing a game, it
feels like meaningful interaction with one of my long-distance friends in a 3D
space. And creating together with him makes me incredibly happy. He's one of
the most creative people I know, and honestly he's part of what keeps me so
inspired to keep creating more and more and giving love to the most creative
parts of myself. I think that's also a beautiful thing.

Anyhow, I've been writing for a little over 45 minutes now and my body is
getting more and more tired resting in my computer chair lol. Maybe I'll phlog
some more tomorrow or later this week. Anyway, hope all is well out there! Bye
for now! :>
