I feel pretty nice right now. I made some rice balls last night, I'm in
my bed with my PowerBook, and I've got Andy Griffith playing on my TV. I
feel all nice and cozy.

Netflix should really get Gilligan's Island. I haven't watched it since
I was probably in middle school or late elementary school (can't
remember which). For reference, I'm 19, so that was in like 2010 or
sometime before.

I helped Rob set up his server a bit more. I ended up making a script
that would mount the RAID on startup and we got the graphics drivers
working. I wish he'd give me sudo privileges so that I wouldn't have to
keep asking him to enter his password, lol, but I can understand why
he'd probably want not to. He at least does have it so that I can ssh
into it, which is nice. I can't really do a lot though without root
priviliges though.

I'd actually really love to get my own server, but to be honest I don't
know what I'd do with it other than host my millions upon millions of
files from over the years. And I don't think that'd take up 48 TB lol.
But I'd love to have a nice, powerful computer running Linux or BSD. I'd
actually like to try and take my hand at NetBSD. We played it safe and
used Debian, which is fine, y'know, but I think I'd love to try and use
BSD. Then again, I do like Linux quite a lot for what it is. Who knows.

In other news, I did some real exercise for the first time in *forever*
yesterday. I ran for 25 minutes on the elliptical and burned ~250
calories (according to the machine). I actually felt like I could go for
a lot more, and I should have, but I feel like it's a nice step forward
for me trying to lose weight. I weigh just over 200 right now, which
bothers me a lot because over the past 2-3 years that means I've gained
30-40 pounds. I really hate it. I'm trying to regrow my hair and lose
weight, but I've got to take care of my body. Hopefully both of those
will make good progress over the course of the next year. If I'm
consistent with exercising, I can definitely lose the weight, and if I'm
consistent with my hair routine, I can *hopefully* fill in a good bit of
my hair. I also have to stay as little stressed as possible, and
exercising should help with that. Giving time to myself will help too. I
should also get on top of my work.

Rob is leaving early, so I guess we won't be getting pizza for movie
night. Since he, Bars, Celina, and Tatum all can't come to the movie
night, I think that we're really only going to have 3 or 4 people. It
frustrates me, as we should have had this scheduled out correctly as
everyone was involved in the decision (nix Tatum, who isn't in CClub),
but there's nothing that can be done now. I'm really just aggravted that
Rob already said he would get the pizza and would come to the movie
night, but then their plans changed all of a sudden. Like, c'mon. If you
commit, commit. And he *could* still do it, but I don't want him to have
to do that if he's not going to be there to eat it. And no one else can
afford the money up front. Had I known that we weren't going to end up
with food, I would have requested a nice theater room (food isn't
allowed in those) instead of the chem classroom, and I wouldn't have
asked SBA for $60. I guess it'll just be money that we never end up
spending, but I hope it doesn't count as a strike against the club that
we requested it and didn't actually use it.

I may ask my mom if I can just get the money out of the credit union and
do it, but SBA refunding takes a while, and I need to be able to pay my
cable bill. I really don't think it's in my best interest.

Also, I haven't talked about the terminal project in a while. I'm going
to order the bits to fix the monitor board today from Mouser. They
should get here probably next week or the week after, and I can just
borrow Rob's soldering station and get the junk going. Once the monitor
board is working, I'll buy the video converter and ensure that it works.
After that, I'll try and set it up so that I've got a nice power supply
providing power to the converter, the monitor, and the Raspberry Pi. And
after all that's done, I'll begin work on the keyboard. I've chosen the
keycaps that I want, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with Cherry MX
Reds for the switches (or maybe I'll see about getting some blues and
dampening them with an o-ring. I tried one of Rob's keyboards that is
like that and I LOVE the feel of it. They're blues, but they're silent,
and it's really, really nice).

The keyboard is going to cost a lot of money to make. I need to get:
- Keycaps
- Keyboard Plate (custom cut metal)
- Key switches
- Wire and Resistors
- Teensy 2.0 Microcontroller

It's not going to be some cheap feat, and it's part of what's going to
drive the cost of the project up so much, but I want it to be done. I
want to create my smart terminal.

So, y'know, please donate if you're interested (and if you can). I would
really love that. And don't worry, I keep all that donation money
separate, so there's no chance of it paying for my cable bill (even if
I'm broke as heck otherwise). It's all for the ADM-5.
(My Gopher Hole->ADM5->Donate)

That's all for now. Stay fresh, my dudes.
