# [2019.03.22] Summer and Cython Magic

Yesterday we had an at-home date watching a movie 'Summer' released
last year. It depicts the year 1980 in Leningrad and life of a small
family of one of the most prominent Russian rockers of that time ---
Mike Naumenko (the frontman of the Zoopark band). A decade later Mike
faced severe alcoholism problems, separation with his wife, and
ultimately death under unclear circumstances which were never
diligently investigated. The appearance of a rising star of Leningrad
rock scene (Victor Tsoi) is only a background for the story of Mike
and Natalia, quite contrary to what people usually tell about the
movie. I mean, the movie is not _particularly_ about Tsoi. I also
appreciated surrealistic Sceptic --- a young man springing out of
nowhere into the frame, bringing some mystical, ironic or grotesque
events after him, and then demonstrating cardboard with a title 'This
never happened' in his hands to a spectator.

Today I practised some Cython Magic and finally got quite a lot of
data in Vowpal Wabbit format for building yet another hybrid
recommender.
