## 02 Challenges

In the past, I have been written one or two poems in English. Most of my poems are in the Haïku style and the others are more "classical" or sometimes song lyrics....without music. I'm thinking about writing poems in English now, in this blog. But in what way ?

What I like about Haïku is trying to capture the moment, the spirit, the atmosphere of what I see, what I hear, in just 17 syllables. It's a challenge and I like challenges, just as this gemlog or blog is also a challenge. I feel that I need a lot more vocabulary than I have in English now. Of course, as in French, I read a few books in English but not regularly enough to have enough words in my mind to write good poems. But I can try and improve myself. I'm not sure that there are many people who do this in Gemini and I haven't looked for it on English websites. I don't want to read about it either, because it might inspire me in a bad way.

For example, I could write about my feelings now, on this hot summer night :

*Noise of the fan*

*Not even a plane tonight*

*To defy the cold moon.*

About 17 syllables...OK for that. But I could also write something classical, longer, using rhymes.

*Dear little fan next to me*

*could you stop talking to the night ?*

*I want to hear crickets, solely !*

*Your voice is always so bright !*

*Always talking too loudly*

*and most often to yourself !*

*And I feel tonight so lousy,*

*I'll keep myself on the shelf.*

*Maybe in a few weeks*

*you'll be yourself on the shelf*

*after some bottom kicks*

*to calm the climate himself*

*Dear little fan, I'm going to sleep*

*despite all your fussy talk.*

*Bring wind to my dreams*

*Let's go for a walk.*

Both are very different. I could keep it...Of course, that's what I'm doing, writing the blog post. And I really don't know what I should for the future. Maybe something like this post ?
