COVID-19 measures
19th March 2020
-----------------

Everything is not always going wrong. Although the hospital did not
always took the best decisions in the past, their approach of
COVID-19 has been quite intelligent until now.

Saturday we received an email telling that all outpatient visits
should be cancelled except for urgent cases. The IT department did
set up a system to send SMS to patients telling that their visit
has been cancelled. The same system will keep a track of all these
cancellations allowing to contact these patients again when things
will calm down.

Saturday evening I went to the hospital, to go through all patients
files, deciding which visit to keep and which one to cancel. For
each cancelled visit, the patient received an SMS telling the
reason (COVID-19 measures) and explaining that they will be
contacted later.

Monday we decided with our boss that not all doctors need to be
present every day. So now, each day, we have a senior, a junior and
a secretary in three different rooms. Our other colleagues are
working from home.

These measures are supposed to continue until early April. Seems
quite optimistic to me...
