Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm is a fire
burst from a spark and climbing higher,
but dying down so quickly soon we all forget that it was there;
but love is deep and long and true,
less bright, but hotter, and more new;
and though the world grows old and weary, still that fire is burning fair.
