As I sit in the heat of the top room
in my house, I think about what I want
to do during the Old Computer Challenge.
This room is quite fitting actually
for the OCC with no network and only one
outlet!

As Solene proposed, we can all choose
what we want to do. I like the idea as
sometime in the past I was already half
way there (but still failed???) So if
I failed once again, it will all be
on me!

What I am choosing is not so much an
'old' computer challenge, but more of a
minimal computing setup.

I have this setup with a mechanical keyboard
and an ebook, that is great for writing.
But since my laptop is often at my disposition,
I don't really end up using this other
minimal setup.

For the OCC 2024, I will only use my mech
keyboard + ebook setup for my off-work
computer usage. I will, also, only use
one charge of the ebook + a small battery
pack (which amount to 2 charge appx.)

So technically I won't be using power
during that time. A solar charger
would make the whole process even
more interesting, although I don't
have a solar charger!

No anime, no movies or tv shows.
No gaming (well, apart from farkle on gemini)
No moving image. I will do my radio show
on my headless pi, so no fancy computer
there. I guess no music either for
battery sake. Although my ebook could
play music...

My phone is already setup to be
really boring, but I don't want to transfer
my 'normal computer time' toward the phone
either, so no phone 'to kill time'
activities.

To add the benefit of the OCC,
I will only be on gopher and gemini
for the time being. That is not
really the challenge as it's mostly
what I do online off work.
