I'm just finishing up a fun weekend of migrating cryptocurrency
blockchains to a 2 TB external harddrive. I couldn't put the project off
any more after a hard disk failure required re-thinking the entire
configuration of the computer. Instead of dozens of blockchains installed
randomly across hidden Windows folders, now wallets and chains exist in a
single folder on an encrypted drive. I can remove all of them simply by
unplugging the drive, and move the easily to a different server.

Copying the Bitcoin blockchain at 240 GB was easier than I thought it
would be. Including other major chains such as Litecoin, Monero,
Unobtanium, Dash and others, put the total at striking distance of 1 TB.

Rummaging through the folders on the crashed disk, it occurred to me how
easy it is to become digitally unhygienic. Time goes by quickly, and its
just easier to keep everything I'm unsure about ever needing again and
allowing Search to sort things out for me.

In the future, I will try harder not to be such a digital hoarder.
(sure i will).
