f6k's log #1, 2018-05-26.

back in the days, i was hanging out a lot with some friends on that
semi-private irc channel on freenode. despite few years of experience under
unix-like systems (mostly gnu/linux ones) i was still a newbie, somehow, and
they helped me a lot in my journey. i had this appetite (and i still have)
for old geniune software and hardware technologies. my friends shared the
same hunger and one of them made me discover gopher. my gateway was
obviously floodgap.com and, after a night digging gopher holes and reading
posts on comp.infosystems.gopher, i fired up my own pygopherd under debian
on my beloved P90 station. i remember moving all my http content on gopher:
my t-files archive containing novels, a rip off of all `5 ingredients fix'
tv show recipes, my own recipes, some old philes found here and there, and
my ascii porn collection among other stuff; but too my ukulele chords, my
fortune cookies files, my shell scripts and dotfiles, and other things i
even don't remember. of course i converted my blog back then into a phlog.
it was about ten years ago and i still have a very good memory of this
adventure. my little personal server ran for almost two years until i had
to turn it off for good because of a move. after that i wasn't able to put
a new server back online since i was lacking a fixed personal internet
connection--which remains the case today.

i miss those times but thanks to the internet gopher club underground
syndicate i'm back in gopherspace, ready to have fun again.
