Fade-out

It's been a while. Life's been stressful. Rather: work has been stressful, but there isn't much else to life here anyway.

My brother visited in Apr/Mar, that was nice. He had a great time in SF and Berkeley, especially enjoying the flora and fauna (very different from our home country). My parents are visiting in ~2.5 months. Looking forward to that! I miss them.

In about one month I'll be on vacation for two weeks in my home country to see my family and my fiancee. That's a much needed break.

I'm not happy here. I don't enjoy going to the lab as much as I used to (alarming). The experimental setup wasn't left in a very nice state by the previous person, as they just didn't care (sad). The laser is quite unstable, with the beam pointing and power out of the amplifier changing every day (upsetting). There are no reliable vacuum gauges on the beamline (incomprehensible).

It's good to know I'll visit the people I love soon. I need to replenish my reserves, need to recharge before I fade out.
