THE LEGEND OF CIRCE ( or HOW TO WIN AN ARGUMENT WITH A SOCIALIST ) The first thing she should realize is that she understands socialists entirely. She knows their motivations, their plans, their ways and means. Socialists are pamphleteers and populists. They spread their ideas wide and anyone can read them. She can use that against the socialists. She wins according to Sun Tzu's principle. The capitalist makes her plans alone and in secret. She is wise to the ways of this world... To win any argument with a socialist is easy. Just never say what you really mean. Socialists will always tell you exactly what they mean and what they intend. They shout it in your face with a bullhorn and paint it on signs. They march up and down the street in angry formation, telling you exactly where they are and what they are doing. That's because all they really want is attention. And that's fair enough. All of us want a little of that. But, once the capitalist knows that, she can use it against them. A good capitalist is like a good mother. She keeps her children at arms length and knows how to disipline them, but they need her for food, security, safety, and love. They need her hugs. The embrace of capitalism. It is easy to tell them that she is with them, that she is watching out for them, and they can stay in their 'Autonymous Zones' ... forever. Inside the zones... time stops... it is the elysium fields, the poppies, she is Circe and they are the crew of Ullyses. She pats their heads and gives them coffee, muffins, clean needles, and naloxone. Sleep, the sleep of Circe animal people... sleep... ---------------------------------------------------------- LEGAL NOTE: These artworks are distributed under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) You are free to: Share - Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format as long as you give me credit for my original work.
