The police pounded on my door today. I guess it's due to my privilege
that I was more curious than frightened. It's probably more accurate
to say that I was concerned.

The officer asked me if my "uncle" was staying with me. I told him my
father is visiting me but went to see my cousin about 20 minutes away
on foot at his pace. The officer went on to say that they found him
wandering "disoriented" and lost on the grounds of a nearby condo
building.

From what I've been able to tease out from my dad and from my cousin,
my dad decided to go to the grocery store to "get a few things" in
preparation for returning home on the weekend. This despite the fact
that I *told* him that we would pick up whatever groceries he asked
for. After shopping, he asked the clerk at the grocery told to call a
cab for him to return to my house. He did this (e.g. walked to the
grocery store and took a cab back) a few days ago so nothing too
unusual at this point. However, for some reason, the staff were unable
or unwilling to call a cab for him. He then decided to walk back but
got turned around and ended up in the wrong place. The condo
superintendent found him and my dad gave my cousin's number as a
contact (why he didn't give my number is beyond me). As my cousin was
at work, she couldn't take the call so the super called the police.

I really don't know what to do with him. He won't take our help. He
won't move any closer to us. He's worse than a third child.
