i only had one class today but was on campus the majority of the
day. i got a good amount of work done in my little cubicle, mostly
just lab stuff but a little bit of cell systems homework. today in
my machine learning class we talked about probability in a way i'd
never though about it before, mostly because the main probability
stuff i got was in high school statistics, so it was flavored a
particular way. i'm going to have to do some re-reading over the
textbooks for the past few classes. for lab work most of what i've
had to do recently is fixing bugs for work i did about 2 weeks ago
when i was not paying enough attention to what i was doing. that's
mostly wrapped up at least, but there's a pile of work that i
haven't been able to get to because of all these small fixes. i'll
get to it eventually. after this month, though, maybe i'll never
have to think about it again. i still have to figure out the second
lab i'm rotating with. i have a few people in mind but need to set
up meetings with them because it's a weird late situation. i also
just need any extra information to decide between them. my only
problem is that i feel like i need to prepare for the meetings by
reading papers from the lab, but then i keep getting lost in layers
of citations trying to get at the background. i'll take reading
papers over doing my homework though. i fucking hate jupyter
notebooks and don't understand why i can't just submit a python
file. i tried out the cli jupyter notebook but that feels even more
annoying than opening up a browser. if anyone has any way of
writing jupyter notebooks that isn't awful, feel free to email me.

ana printed a bunch of stickers and i put some on my stupid tiny
laptop and i think it's nice. maybe i'll add some more but not too
many. i want to figure out a way to use the firewire port on that
computer in a useful way. i remember seeing something about jack
audio and firewire and wonder if i can make any use of it with
ecasound.
