45 - Mush network.

PJ's got this plan to track ogre movements in the
hills behind the complex. I'm not going to pretend
and write it down very well because it's pretty
high tech stuff and that's his thing. Basically
it's old cell phones wrapped in plastic sandwich
bags and tied to tent stakes. We're going to put
these in the dirt at various places over the
hill. And he's got the phones prepared somehow so
that if something big gets near to one of them,
like an ogre, then it's going to somehow signal us
about that. So that's kind of neat. But the phones
have to be close enough to each other to make it
work, so we have to pick our spots carefully. PJ
calls it a mush network. Or mesh, I forget. As a
side benefit, he thinks we can use all this to
somehow boost cell tower signal which is barely
gettable from the top of the hill, down into our
complex. Which is also kind of neat, if it works.

And I drop by his place and he shoves at me this
big tub of about 15 of these baggie-phone-stakes,
and tells me to go dig them in. He's kind of in a
hurry because apparently he just got invited to go
do "magic" with some elfs. And on his way out the
door he's yelling over his shoulder back to me,
something like, "oh, and redefine the window power
word on those down to 60 from 80, they'll last
longer, just put in colon pow 60 semicolon enter
and flash the block. It's easy." And then he's
gone. Uh, okay whatever. 80 is going to have to
do.
