Remote Control (490-0875) Installing the Antenna Faxback Doc. # 8939
Alarm System

MOUNT THE ANTENNA

The antenna wire (black with the clear end), which is preconnected to your
control module, is used for receiving the remote arm/disarm signal. You
can run this wire along the upper edge of the windshield, an inch from the
the top, and secure it with tape, or you can run it between the dashboard
and the windshield.

Connect to a Power Antenna

* If your vehicle has a power antenna, follow the instructions for your
type of antenna. If your car does not have a power antenna, skip to the
   next section.

Semi-Automatic Antenna

If you operate a semi-automatic antenna with a dash-mounted switch, leave
the antenna up for transmitting.

Fully Automatic Antenna

An automatic antenna has a power antenna sensor input wire. This wire
normally connects to the radio's switched power lead (SPL) so that when
you turn on the radio, the antenna automatically raises.

Caution: Follow the connection instructions carefully. An incorrect
connection could damage the antenna or stereo.

* 1.  Disconnect the radio's SPL wire.

* 2. Connect the wiring harness' orange wire's female end to the SPL
      wire's antenna side.

* 3. Connect the orange wire's male end to the SPL wire's radio side.

Connect The Vehicle Locator Wire

You can connect the control module to your vehicle's parking lights. This
lets you use the remote transmitter to flash the vehicle's parking lights
so you can find your vehicle in dark areas. Follow these steps to connect
the car locator wire.

* 1. Connect the stripped end of the supplied, unattached blue wire to the
terminal of your vehicle's parking lights.

* 2. Connect the other end of the blue wire (with male connector) to the
control module's blue wire with the female connector.

* 3. Your vehicle's parking lights blink when you press the button(s) on
      the remote arm/disarm transmitter.
