TandyFax 1500 (430-1215) Memory Faxback Doc. # 8913 STORING NUMBERS IN MEMORY You can store up to 70 telephone/facsimile numbers of up to 36 digits each in your fax machine's memory for speed dialing.. You assign each number either a one-touch key (01-08) or a two-digit code (09-70) for memory dialing. To enter a number in memory, follow these steps: 1. Press #. 2. To assign a one-Touch Key. Example: One-Touch Key 02 To assign a memory number, press MEMORY and a two-digit code on the keypad. Example: MEMORY 6 2 3. Enter the telephone number Example: 5 5 5 1 2 3 4 Include any pause or LDT entries. See "Using Pause" and Switching from Pulse to Tone." When you enter a pause, hyphen (-) appears on the display; when you change from pulse dialing to touch-tone dialing, a "stair-step looking character" will appear on the display. You can also press DIAL TEL/SPACE to enter a space in the number. These entries count as one digit in memory. If you make a mistake, press <CONTRAST or RESOLUTION> as needed to move the cursor to the incorrect digit. Then, enter the correct digit. If the phone number is longer than 12 digits, the display clears when you enter the 12th digit. Continue to enter any other digits. The display shows the 13th and any higher digits. To see the first 12 digits of the number, repeatedly press <CONTRAST> until the first 12 digits appear on the display. 4. Press START/ENTER Proceed to "Entering a Memory Number Name." If you do not need to enter Memory Number Name, press STANDBY/STOP. ENTERING A MEMORY NUMBER NAME You can enter names to identify memory numbers you entered. If the Memory Number is a fax number, the Name prints at the top of each page you send to the receiving fax machine. 1. Enter the Memory Number's Name (up to 15 characters). You must press # between each two-digit character code. Example: TANDY 2 9 # 1 0 # 2 3 # 1 3 # 3 4 # If you make a mistake, press <CONTRAST or RESOLUTION> as needed to move the cursor to the incorrect digit. Then, enter the correct digit. 2. Press START/ENTER. 3. Repeat the entire procedure to enter more numbers, or press STANDBY /STOP to return to the standby mode. MEMORY TRANSMISSION You can store a document's image in memory and then have the fax machine automatically send the image stored in memory. Also, the fax machine can send the stored image to more than one station. Memory transmission is automatic, so you do not need to monitor the fax machine during operation. To use the memory transmission, follow these steps: 1. Place the document face down in the document tray (maximum of seven pages at a time). The IN USE indicator flashes. 2. Press DATA MEMORY. The DATA MEMORY indicator flashes. 3. If necessary, adjust the contrast or resolution. 4. Dial the telephone number. If you want to send the document to two or more stations, enter each station's number one after the other. Example: To send a document to a station whose number is stored in Memory 21, and to a station whose number is 213-555-6794. enter the following: DIAL/TEL MEMORY 2 1 DIAL/TEL 2 1 3 5 5 6 7 9 4 or DIAL/TEL 2 1 3 5 5 5 6 7 9 4 DIAL/TEL MEMORY 2 1. Note: The fax machine's Memory can hold up to three manually dialed numbers. However, you can store as many memory-dialed numbers as you want. 5. Press START/ENTER to store the document's image in memory. The fax machine prints out a confirmation sheet that shows the fax number (s) you entered, and then starts storing the document's image in memory. When the fax machine finishes storing the document's last page, the machine automatically dials the numbers. After the document is sent to all stations, the fax machine prints out the memory transmission journal. To cancel the transmission, press STANDBY/STOP while the fax machine is still dialing or sending the document. This cancels transmission to all remaining stations and erases the document's image from memory. The memory transmission journal (COMM. JOURNAL) prints INC (incomplete). Notes: * If communication fails during the fax transmission, the fax machine automatically resends the remaining pages
