Alarm System

ARMING THE SYSTEM

Arming the system sets the alarm to sound and activates the starter disable
module.

Before you attempt to arm the system, be sure it is turned on.

AUTOMATIC ARMING

Be sure your vehicle's ignition has been on for at least 6 seconds. Then,
turn off the ignition and step out of the vehicle. The system arms 30
seconds after you close all doors, the hood, and the trunk. During the 30
second delay, the system indicator's red light rapidly flashes.

If you open the hood, the trunk, or one of the doors during the 30-second
delay, the system enters a stand-by mode. The status indicator's red and
green lights flash, and the system does not arm. After you close the hood,
trunk, and all the doors, the system restarts the 30-second delay.

At the end of the 30-second delay period, the system arms. The status
indicator's green light turns off, and the red light stops flashing.

If you use this method to arm the system, you have a 12-second entry delay.

REMOTE ARMING

The transmitter has a range of about 20 feet. To arm the system from
outside the vehicle, press ARM on the transmitter. The status indicator's
red light turns on and the confirmation tone sounds if BEEP/SILENT is set
to BEEP. This indicates the system is armed.

If you use this method to arm the system, there is no entry delay.

DISARMING THE SYSTEM

The method for disarming the system depends on the method you used for
arming the system.

AFTER AUTOMATIC ARMING

If you let the system automatically arm, you can disarm it from outside
the vehicle or you can disarm it from inside the vehicle.

If you let the system automatically arm, you have a 12-second entry delay
period during which the alarm will not sound. The delay period begins
begins when you open the trunk, hood, or one of the doors. During the
delay, the status indicator's green light is off and the red light flashes.

TO DISARM THE SYSTEM FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE:

* Press DISARM on the transmitter.

* Or, turn the ignition to the accessory (ACC) position. However, you
must press DISARM on the transmitter to turn off the starter disable
module so that you can start the vehicle.

AFTER REMOTE ARMING

If you armed the system with the remote transmitter, you must disarm it
from outside the vehicle to prevent sounding the alarm. Press DISARM on
the transmitter. This disables the alarm and turns off the starter disable
module so that you can start the vehicle. The green indicator lights, and
the confirmation tone sounds if BEEP/SILENT is set to BEEP. This indicates
the system is disarmed.

TRIGGERING THE ALARM

You can sound the alarm's siren in several ways.

* When automatically armed, if you open a door, the hood, or the trunk
after the 30-second delay period, the alarm sounds after a 12-second
    entry delay.

* If you open a door, the hood, or the trunk, when the system was remote
   armed, the alarm sounds instantly.

* If you press ARM and DISARM at the same time on the transmitter.

* If the motion sensor detects vibrations, the siren sounds after 12
seconds if the system was automatically armed or instantly if the
   system was remote armed.

The alarm sounds for 5 minutes or until you disarm the system. If you do
not disarm the system, the system rearms and the red indicator blinks
continuously, letting you know the alarm was activated.

SOUNDING THE PANIC ALARM

This features lets you summon help in case of an emergency. To sound the
panic alarm, press ARM and DISARM on the remote transmitter at the same
time. The siren sounds immediately, regardless of the position of any of
the controls.

Note: The panic alarm does not operate when the ignition is on.
