Handheld Portable Cellular Telephone

Before you first operate the phone, recharge the battery using the
supplied AC charger.  After you use the phone for a while, you will
eventually need to recharge the battery.  Various low-battery indications
tell the battery's condition.

To recharge the battery from AC power, follow these steps.

1.  Plug the charger's barrel plug into the DC 12V jack on the bottom of
    the phone.

2.  Plug the charger's other end into a standard AC outlet.

A fully discharged battery takes up to 8 hours to charge.  After the
phone's battery is fully charged, all three battery-strength indicator
bars on the display light when you turn on the phone.

NOTES:

-The phone beeps once when put once the charger.

-If the phone is on when placed on the charger, the battery-strength
 indicator bars light in sequence, then turn off.  This lighting sequence
 continues until you turn the phone off.

CHARGING HINTS

-For the battery to deliver its full power capacity, use it until you hear
 the low-battery warnings or see them on display.

-You can leave the phone/battery on the charger for several days without
 damaging the battery.  However, we suggest you remove the phone/battery
 from the charger if you plan to be away or not use the battery for a week
 or more.

-Do not recharge the battery in temperatures higher than 95 degrees F or
 lower than 41 degrees F.  For the fastest and most complete charge,
 charge the battery at room temperature.

-Avoid leaving the battery in your vehicle.  Exposing the battery to high
 or low temperature extremes shortens the battery's life.

CAUTION:

This product contains a rechargeable nickel cadmium (Lead Acid) battery.
At the end of the battery's useful life, it must be recycled or disposed
of properly.  Contact your local, county, or state hazardous waste
management authorities for information on recycling or disposal programs
in your area.
