PLAYING A CD

Your CD player can play standard 5-inch or 3-inch CDs that have this mark
on them:

Caution: This CD player has a wide dynamic range. If you turn up the
volume too high during soft parts of the music, you might damage
your headphones or speakers when a sudden loud passage occurs.
Therefore, set your audio system or car stereo's volume to the
minimum level before you play a CD. After the CD begins to
          play, slowly increase the volume.

1. Set VOLUME to its minimum setting.

2. Set POWER ON/OFF to ON.

3. Press OPEN and lift the disc cover.

4. Carefully place the CD, label side up, over the disc compartment's
center hub. Press down slightly on the CD until it clicks and lies
    flat in the compartment.

5. Close the disc compartment cover.

The display alternately shows the total number of tracks and the total
    playing time.

6. Press PLAY/PAUSE. Track 1 begins to play and the display shows the
    current track number.

Press MEMORY/TIME to display the current track's elapsed time.

Press MEMORY/TIME again to display the current track number.

7. Adjust the volume to a comfortable listening level according to these
    guidelines:

If you connect headphones, amplified speakers, a CD-to-cassette
adapter, or your car stereo's LINE IN jack to the CD player's PHONES
jack, set VOLUME on the CD player to the desired level.

If you connect the player's LINE OUT jack to amplified speakers,
your home audio system, or your car stereo's CD INPUT jack, set the
desired volume using the volume controls on those units.

8. To enhance the bass sound, set E-BASS OUT/IN to IN.

9. When the last track finishes playing, the CD player automatically
stops. To stop playing the CD before it ends, press STOP/CLEAR.

INTRO SCAN

The intro scan feature lets you listen to the first 10 seconds of each
track on a CD.

1. Press PLAY/PAUSE to start play.

2. Press PLAY MODE repeatedly until INTRO appears on the display. Intro

LEFT ARROW. Release the button to resume normal play.

Note: If you are holding down RIGHT ARROW when the last track plays, then

the display to start random play.

Notes: If you press PLAY MODE during play, the CD plays the tracks in
random order starting at the end of the track currently playing.

random order as soon as you press PLAY.

To cancel random play, press PLAY MODE until no indicator appears.

LEFT ARROW to move backward to other tracks in the sequence.
