Micro-29 (140-1059) Power Sources Faxback Doc. # 7724

USING AC POWER

To power the Micro-29 from an AC outlet, you need an AC adapter, such as
Cat. No. 273-1456.

CAUTIONS: You must use an adapter that supplies 3 volts DC power and
delivers at least 200 milliamps. Its center tip must be set to
negative, and it must have a plug that properly fits the Micro-
20's DC 3V jack. Using an adapter that does not meet these
specifications could damage the Micro-29 or the adapter.

Be sure you connect the adapter to the Micro-29 before you plug
it into the AC outlet, and that you unplug the adapter from the
AC outlet before you unplug it from the Micro-29. Otherwise,
the unconnected plug might touch a metal object and damage the
           adapter.

To power the Micro-29 from an AC outlet, insert the adapter's small plug
into the Micro-29's DC 3V jack. This disconnects the internal batteries.
Then plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet.

USING VEHICLE BATTERY POWER

To power the Micro-29 from your vehicle's battery power, you need a DC
adapter, such as Cat. No. 270-1560A.

CAUTIONS: Your vehicle must have a 12-volt, negative-ground electrical
           system.

You must use an adapter that supplies 3 volts DC power and
delivers at least 200 milliamps. its center tip must be set to
negative, and it must have a plug that properly fits the
Micro-29's DC 3V jack. Using an adapter that does not meet
these specifications could damage the Micro-29.

Be sure you plug the adapter into the Micro-29 before you plug
it into the cigarette-lighter socket, and be sure you unplug
the adapter form the cigarette-lighter socket before you unplug
it from the Micro-29. Otherwise, the unconnected plug might
touch a metal object and damage the adapter or your vehicle's
           electrical system.

Follow these steps to power the Micro-29 from your vehicle's battery
power.

1. Set the adapter's voltage switch to 3V.

2. Plug the orange-tipped barrel plug into the adapter's cord with the
    tip set to negative (-).

3. Insert the barrel plug into the Micro-29's DC 3V jack.

4. Plug the other end of the adapter into the vehicle's cigarette-lighter
    socket.
