PRESETTING THE CONTROLS

Warning: A sudden high output from the mixer could damage your hearing,
especially if you are using headphones. Or, it could damage the
mixer and audio devices connected to the mixer's output.

To avoid accidentally overdriving a channel or prematurely mixing in an
audio input, adjust these controls to the settings shown before connecting
the AC power cord or turning on power.

Control Setting

CONNECTING THE OUTPUTS

To avoid sudden and unusable sound outputs from the audio devices, adjust
the audio devices' controls to these settings before you connect the
mixer's output jacks to the audio devices' input jacks.

Audio Device Control Setting

Tape Deck POWER OFF

Amplifier/Receiver POWER OFF
                             TONE FLAT

To play the mixer's output signal through your speaker system (for events
such as parties, dances, conferences, etc...), connect an audio patch cord
(not supplied) from the mixer's AMP R and L jacks to your
receiver/amplifier's left and right input jacks.

To record the mixer's output signal, connect an audio patch cord (not
supplied) from the mixer's REC R and L jacks to your tape deck's left
and right input jacks.

CONNECTING THE INPUTS

You can connect up to eight audio input sources, (such as a microphone,
tuner, cassette tape deck, CD player, magnetic-cartridge turntable,
camcorder. or VCR) to the input jacks on the back of the mixer.

Caution: Do not connect an audio source with a high-level output into
          MIC1, MIC2, MIC3, MIC4, or PH. An audio source's output is
high-level if you can raise or lower its volume with its volume
          control.

1. Connect up to four stereo microphones (not supplied) with 1/4-inch
plugs to MIC 1, MIC 2, MIC 3, and MIC 4. MIC 1 is for the DJ's
microphone (see "Using the DJ's Microphone"), and MIC 2, MIC 3,
and MIC 4 are for the performance microphones.

Note: Your local Radio Shack store carries a wide selection of
       microphones.

2. Set MO/ST (monaural/stereo) on the corresponding MIC1, MIC2, MIC3,
or MIC 4 input to MO or ST. For example, when using a stereo
microphone at the MIC1 input, set the corresponding MIC1 MO/ST switch
    to ST (stereo).

3. Connect an audio source with a low-level output, such as a magnetic-
    cartridge turntable, into PH.

Notes: If you connect a turntable with a magnetic cartridge, connect its
ground wire (usually black or green) to GND.

Use the above connection only as a guide. You can connect any
audio input sources with a low-level output to PH.

4. Connect up to three high-level audio input sources, such as a CD
player, VCR, tuner, cassette tape deck, into CD1, CD2, and CD3.

5. Connect the power cord to a standard AC outlet.
