Speaker Placement

Where and how you position your speakers has a great effect on their bass
response:

For slight increases in bass response, place your speaker on a shelf or
  table positioned against a wall.

For greater bass response, place your speaker on the floor or in a
  corner of the room.

For maximum bass response, place your speakers on the floor in the
  corner of the room.

Note: Avoid placing your speaker on a surface that absorbs sound, such as
thick carpenting. If necessary, use a speaker stand (available at
your local Radio Shack store) to raise your speaker.

For the best stereo effect, position each speaker an equal distance from
the center of your listening area.

If you must place the speakers farther apart than recommended, you can
turn them slightly toward each other to achieve a more realistic effect.

A little experimenting will reveal the best setup for your sound system.

CONNECTIONS

Place the speakers in their approximate locations, then measure the
distance from each speaker to the amplifier.

Use 18-guage speaker wire or lamp cord for distances up to 25 feet. For
greater distances, use heavier 16-guage wire. Your local Radio Shack
store has a wide selection of speaker wire.

Note: For optimum performance, your speaker wires must be properly
connected according to their polarity (positive to positive and
       negative to negative).

Follow these steps to connect your speakers to your receiver/amplifier.

1. Measure and cut the length of wire needed to connect the speakers to
your system. Split the last 4 inches of speaker wire on each end.

2. Use a wire stripper to strip 1/4 inch of insulation from each wire's
    end.

3. Press the right speaker's negative (-) terminal tab and insert one of
the bare wires into the opening. Then release the tab.

4. Press the right speaker's positive (+) terminal tab and insert the
other bare wire into the opening. Then release the tab.

5. Insert the other end of the wire you inserted into the right speaker's
negative (-) terminal into your receiver/amplifier's right negative
    (-) terminal.

6. Connect the remaining wire to the receiver/amplifier's right positive
    (+) terminal.

7. Repeat Steps 1 through 6 for the left speaker.
