PersonalPager (170-6000) Controls Faxback Doc. # 7333

1. Side Function Switch - Turns power ON and OFF, selects alert
modes, resets the alert signal and
                                     scrolls through messages stored in
                                     memory.

Note: Moving the side function switch from one alert mode to another,
       generates the new alert setting.

    A The unit is OFF.

B The vibrating alert mode is activated. The unit will vibrate four
times at 1 second intervals when the unit receives a message.

C The audible "Beep" mode is activated when the unit receives an
incoming message. A loud beep tone is generated and a flashing
light informs you that a message has been received and placed in
       memory.

2. Display - Shows incoming messages, call count,
                                     unread message indicator, various
                                     annunciators and tone only messages.

3. Clip - Secures the pager to a pocket, belt
                                     or purse.

4. Top Function Switch - Deletes unwanted messages from memory
(When used in conjunction with the
                                     side function switch). Also resets
the alert signal and scrolls through
messages in memory from oldest to
                                     newest.

Note: Scrolling is inhibited any time an unread message indicator
shows on the screen; this prevents viewing of old messages
immediately after an alert by an incoming message.

5. Light Sensor - Detects ambient light conditions and,
                                     when necessary, automatically turns
                                     on display backlighting.

6. Flashing Light (RED) - Visual indication of incoming
                                     messages.

DISPLAY FEATURES

1. (A,B,C,D) - Identifies the address the displayed
                                     message was received on.

2. (RP) - Indicates that the received message
                                     exactly duplicated a message already
                                     stored in memory.

3. (DL) - Indicates that the delete mode has
                                     been selected. The message selected
                                     for deletion will flash.

4. (HORN symbol) - Indicates the selected alert
function. If this symbol is present
on the display, the audible alert
function has been selected. If it is
                                     not present, the vibrating alert
                                     function has been selected.

5. (RIGHT ARROW symbol) - Indicates a numeric message of more
than 12 digits was received. To view
the rest of the message, depress the
function switch or wait 10 seconds
and the unit will auto scroll to show
                                     the rest of the message.

6. 12 character 7 segment display - used for numeric or tone only
                                     messages.

Standby Indicator (--------) - Indicates no messages in memory. A
unit in standby is ready to receive a
                                     page.

Low Battery Indicator (BATT LO) - Indicates battery voltage is below
                                     the recommended level. Replace the
                                     battery.

Stored Message Counter (16 CALL) - After all messages have been
                                     reviewed, this indication will keep
you aware of how many messages are
                                     stored in memory.

Tone Only Indicator (TONE ONLY) - Indicates address was alerted but no
                                     numeric message was sent.

Numeric Message Display - Indicates the proper address was
(817) 858-3300 alerted and shows the numeric message
                                     that was sent.

Call Indicator (CALL) - Indicates one or more messages have
been received but not viewed. To see
how many messages there are, press
the side function switch once. Then,
to review the individual messages in
                                     sequential order, repeatedly press
the side function switch until all
                                     calls are seen.

Call Full Indicator (CALL FULL) - Indicates one or more messages have
been received but not viewed and that
less than 20 characters of unused
                                     memory remain. Unwanted messages
should be deleted to avoid losing
                                     important messages when the next
                                     message comes in.

Unreadable Message Indicator - Indicates the proper address was
(UUUUU) alerted, but the message information
                                     was unreadable.

Deleted Message Display (DELETED) - Indicates a stored message was
                                     manually deleted.

Unread Message Alert - Generates 2 second unread message
alerts ten times at 3 minute
intervals if the incoming message is
                                     not viewed.
