If you do not plan to use the CD-3314 for a month or more, or
if you plan to use the external AC power cord or a DC-to-AC
           inverter, remove the batteries.

3. Insert eight fresh D batteries in the compartment as indicated by the
polarity symbol ( + and - ) marked above the compartment.

plug the supplied AC power cord into AC on the back of the unit. Then
plug the other end into a standard AC outlet.

CAUTIONS: To avoid exposure to hazardous voltage:

Always plug the AC power cord into AC before you plug it into
           the standard AC outlet.
..
Always unplug your AC power cord from the standard AC outlet
before you unplug it from AC.

NOTE: The CD-3314 automatically disconnects the internal batteries when
you connect the AC power cord.

USING VEHICLE BATTERY POWER

You can power the CD-3314 from your vehicle's battery using a DC-to-AC
Inverter (such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 22-132, not supplied).

Follow the instructions included with the inverter.

CAUTION: To avoid exposure to hazardous voltage:

Always plug the AC power cord into AC and the inverter before
you plug the inverter's plug into your car's cigarette-lighter
          socket.

Always unplug the inverter from your car's cigarette-lighter
socket before you unplug the power cord from AC or the inverter.

If the CD-3314 produces a hum when you turn it off, unplug the
inverter from your car's cigarette-lighter socket.
