If you have followed the instructions in this manual but have difficulty
operating your VCR, check the SYMPTOM column below.  Then check the
corresponding POSSIBLE CAUSE column to locate and correct the problem.

SYMPTOM                           POSSIBLE CAUSE

No power.                         Power cord is not connected.

                                  POWER is not set to on.

Playback picture is noisy.        TV is not tuned to the correct channel
                                  as set by the CHANNEL switch on the VCR.

                                  Tracking needs adjustment.

Playback picture has no color.    The color system is not correctly set.

                                  OUTPUT SELECT on the VCR is not
                                  correctly set.

Timer recording is not possible.  The clock is set incorrectly.

                                  The program timer is set incorrectly.

                                  TIMER REC on the VCR has not been
                                  pressed.

Record mode cannot be engaged.    The erase-protection tab on cassette is
                                  removed.

No picture on playback.           The video head is dirty.  Head cleaning
                                  is necessary.

Off-the-air TV programs cannot    Connections are not correctly made.

                                  INPUT SELECT on the VCR is set to LINE.

No operation by remote control.   The remote control's batteries are weak
                                  or dead.

Modifying or tampering with your VCR's internal components can cause a
malfunction and might invalidate the VCR's warranty.  If your VCR is not
operating as it should, the suggestions in the troubleshooting chart might
help.  If you still need assistance, contact your local Radio Shack Store.
