Translator

Follow these steps to set the date and time in your home city.

1.  Press ON.

2.  Press MODE until the date and time appear on the display.

3.  Press > to display the current home city.

4.  Select your home city by pressing up arrow or down arrow.  Or enter
    the first character of your home city, then repeatedly press up
    arrow or down arrow to choose the name of your home city.  If the
    translator does not list your city, select a major city that is in
    your time zone.

NOTE:  The number in parentheses after the city name is the difference
       between the city's time and UTC (Universal Coordinated Time,
       previously known as Greenwich Mean Time).

5.  Press MODE to return to the date/time mode.

6.  Press EDIT.  An underline appears under the first digit of the year.

7.  Enter the year, month, and day of the month.  Then enter the time.
    Press AM <-> PM to switch between AM and PM.

8.  Press EDIT to store the date and time.

NOTES:

Press 12 <-> 24 to switch between the 12 hour AM/PM display or the
24-hour mode.

If the information you enter is invalid (for example, you enter 13 for
the month), the display returns to the previous time and date setting.
You must repeat Steps 6-8.

To switch between standard and daylight saving time, press daylight
savings key as necessary.  A + appears to indicate daylight saving time.

VIEWING THE WORLD TIME

Follow these steps to view the time in cities around the world.

1.  Press MODE to display the name and time of the last selected city.

2.  Press up arrow or down arrow to display the date and time for
    different cities.  Or enter the first character of the city name
    you want, then repeatedly press up arrow or down arrow to choose
    the specific city name you want.  The date and time for the city
    appear.

NOTE:  You can choose among 128 cities.

3.  If you know that the city is in daylight saving time, press daylight
    saving key.  A + appears next to the time to indicate daylight
    saving time, and the time automatically advances one hour.
