TAD 425 (430-0711) Remote Operation Faxback Doc. # 6162

You can control your answering machine from any touch-tone phone. You can
also control it from a rotary dial phone, using a pocket tone dialer.

The answering machine's factory-set security code is 111. You can begin
remote operation using this code; however, we recommend that you set your
own security code. This code lets you access your answering machine's main
functions and prevents others from operating your answering machine.

Follow these steps to begin all remote control operations:

1. Dial your phone number. The answering machine answers, and the
    outgoing announcement begins.

2. Press * during the outgoing announcement. The answering machine sounds
    a 2-second beep.

3. Carefully enter your 3-digit security code within 10 seconds of the
beep. The answering machine sounds a command prompt, rewinds, and then
    plays back any new messages.

4. After message playback, the answering machine sounds a command prompt.
Enter the desired command code. The answering machine performs
each command after you enter the appropriate code.

Note: If you enter an incorrect security code, the answering machine beeps
for 2 seconds. Enter the correct code within 10 seconds. If you
enter an incorrect code again, the answering machine beeps a second
time. Enter the correct code within 10 seconds. If you enter an
incorrect code a third time, the answering machine continues to play
the outgoing announcement and records the incoming message.

Command Prompt

A command prompt consists of one long beep and two short beeps. This
prompt indicates the completion of a remote control command and signals
you to enter another remote control command. After the command prompt
sounds, you have about 10 seconds to enter another remote control command.
If you wait longer than 10 seconds, the answering machine hangs up and
resets to answer calls.

REMOTE FUNCTIONS

After you access your answering machine by remote control, the answering
machine automatically rewinds the tape to the beginning of the new message
group (if you received messages) and plays the messages. After the
messages play or if you received no messages, a command prompt sounds and
you have about 10 seconds to enter any of the following remote control
commands. A command prompt sounds after the completion of each command.

machine while it plays the messages, you hear a busy signal.

answering machine answers your call, hang up the phone. The answering
machine stays in the answer mode.
