VGM-150 (25-4090) Using Wordstar 6.0 Faxback Doc. # 6082 Follow these steps to set up your system to run Wordstar for VGA operation and be sure it is working. Then exit to DOS. 1. Install Wordstar for VGA operation and be sure it is working. Then exit to DOS. 2. Make the directory containing the Wordstar files the active directory. 3. Place the DRIVERS disk in drive A, and type the following: copy a:fullpage.wgd <ENTER> 4. You must modify FONTID.CTL for full-page operation, so make a back-up by typing the following: copy fontid.ctl vga.ctl <ENTER> 5. Modify the file by typing the following: copy a:wordstar.ctl vga.ctl fontid.ctl <ENTER> 6. If your version of Wordstar is 6.0E or later, skip to Step 7. Otherwise, type the following: copy a:preview.* <ENTER> 7. Type: wschange <ENTER> to change the monitor settings. 8. Read the instruction screen. Press <ENTER>. 9. Read the instruction screen. Press <ENTER>. 10. Select A for Console. 11. Select A for Monitor. 12. Select C for Screen Sizing. 13. Select A for Height. 14. Type: 58 <ENTER>. 15. Select B for Width. 16. Type: 80 <ENTER>. 17. Select X for the next for screens. 18. Type: Y for Are you through making changes? to return to DOS. 19. Type: fp wordstar <ENTER> for full-page operation. 20. Type: wschange <ENTER> to st the colors for full-page mode. 21. Read the instruction screen. Press <ENTER>. 22. Read the instruction screen. Press <ENTER>. 23. Select A for Video Attributes. 24. Select C for Video Attributes. 25. Select A for Select Colors Individually. 26. Choose the colors you prefer. To see underlining on-screen, select blue-on-black for underlining. 27. Select X for finished with this menu. 28. Select X for finished with this menu. 29. Select X for finished with this menu. 30. Select Y for Are you through using making choices? to return to DOS. Note: Wordstar is now modified to work in the full-page mode. To use it in the full-page mode, type the following: fp wordstar <ENTER> ws filename <ENTER> Only the screen fonts provided by FP.EXE are supported during full-page operation.
