SUMMARY OF CONTROL CODES

According to the American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII),
there are 32 control codes in addition to the codes for the printable
characters. (Control codes are sent as data, but the receiving device
interprets them as abbreviated "instructions", communications-status mess-
ages, etc.).

To output a control code from LEVEL II BASIC, use the CHR$ function. For
example: 100 LPRINT CHR$(13)   110 LPRINT CHR$(27);CHR$(14)

A list of the control codes recognized by the Line Printer IV is contained 
in the table below. each of the control code is described in detail in the
following paragraphs. Read the detail on backspacing characters carefully.
