Power up all equipment. Use you system owner's manual for instructions on 
powering your computer and other peripherals. The selection of Mode 1 or 
Mode 2 is performed automatically according to the software used.

After powering up the system, you may need to adjust the display of the 
EGM-1.

DISPLAY ADJUSTMENT

The 3 display adjustment controls are concealed in the control box. Gently 
pull open the panel door to the right of the video screen.

TEXT FUNCTION--Pressing this button translates white characters to green 
characters. Press once to engage this function. Press again to disengage.

CONTRAST AND BRIGHTNESS--Use these controls to adjust the screen brightness 
to compensate for room lighting. Rotate either or both controls clockwise 
to increase brightness. Rotate counterclockwise to decrease brightness.

The contrast control is also used to adjust color brilliance--low or high 
as needed. Gently pull out the knob and turn it. With the control pushed in,
the contrast returns to a preset value.

VERTICAL SIZE--The 2 vertical size controls are located on the rear panel. 
If necessary, rotate either control to adjust the adjust the vertical size 
of the display.

Use the one that corresponds to the current Mode 1 or 2.

NOTES:

1. Use the BRIGHTNESS and CONTRAST controls with care. When the same  
   characters or graphics are shown for a long time with these controls set 
   to maximum positions, part of the screen may be damaged.

2. Adjust only those controls that are described in this manual. Improper  
   operation of other controls may result in possible damage and will 
   require the services of a technician to restore proper operation.
