3830 SL/C (250-3576) Using the Built-In Trackball Faxback Doc. # 1415

Your computer has a built-in trackball that you can use as a pointing
device. As you spin the trackball with your fingertips, the cursor moves
in the direction of the trackball motion. The left and right click buttons
emulate the left and right buttons of a standard mouse.

CAUTIONS:

* Avoid using the trackball with dirty hands. The trackball might not
operate correctly if it gets dirty.

* Avoid placing heavy objects on the trackball and click buttons.

* Use the trackball and click buttons gently.

Cleaning the Trackball:

If the trackball gets dirty, it might not operate properly. Follow these
steps to remove and clean the trackball.

1. Insert the blade of a small, flat-blade screwdriver or a similar tool
into the slot between the top left corner of the trackball cover and the
computer. Then, carefully pry up and remove the cover, starting with the
   left side.

Note: Be careful not to break the tabs on the trackball cover.

2. Remove the trackball from the compartment.

3. Clean the trackball with soap and water. Then, rinse the trackball with
water and thoroughly dry the trackball with a clean, soft cloth.

4. Replace the trackball and its cover.

Note: The cover only fits one way.

CAUTIONS:

* After you remove the trackball, do not touch any metal parts in the
  computer.

* Do not use chemical solvents to clean the trackball.
