(C) World Health Organization This story was originally published by World Health Organization and is unaltered. . . . . . . . . . . 4th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance [1] [] Date: 2024-11-14 Amidst the urgent global crisis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the 4th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on AMR4 from 15 – 16 November 2024, in Jeddah. The event will facilitate the implementation of the commitments outlined in the political declaration approved at the 2024 UNGA High-Level Meeting on AMR. Discussions will cover topics such as: strengthening global governance, harnessing data for more evidence-based policymaking, sustainable financing and developing capacity across sectors, setting up an independent Panel for Evidence for Action on AMR, preventing AMR, leveraging south-south collaboration and access to affordable antimicrobials. A non-state actor day of side events will take place on 14 November, looking at public-private partnerships, closing diagnostics gaps for AMR, addressing the antibiotic pipeline failure, the future economic impact of AMR, and lessons learned from COVID-19. Following the ministerial conference, the Second Annual Plenary Assembly of the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform will take place on 16 November.
