|> I met with Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs @MofaJapan_en, Takeshi
|Iwaya. It is significant that his first visit to another country
|immediately after the appointment of the new Government is to Ukraine.
|> I am grateful for Japan’s consistent support for Ukraine’s sovereignty
|and territorial integrity, as well as its substantial financial and
|humanitarian assistance, including a new aid package for our energy
|sector. > I also thank for allocating $3 billion as part of the G7’s
|decision on a $50 billion loan, to be repaid using revenues from frozen
|Russian assets. 🇺🇦🇯🇵
|https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/1857816905320640669 > I had a meeting
|with Japan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and one of the key issues we
|discussed was North Korea’s alliance with Russia and its support for
|Putin in this brutal war. > I informed him about the activities of
|North Korean military personnel in the Kursk region and the various
|threats posed by the collaboration between Pyongyang and Moscow. >
|Russia is teaching North Korea modern warfare, which could lead to
|significant and widespread destabilization. We must work together with
|all our other partners to counter this.

|> Pleased to welcome my Japanese colleague IWAYA Takeshi in Kyiv on his
|first bilateral foreign visit after appointment. I value this sign of
|solidarity. Japan is our key ally in Asia and the Indo-Pacific and our
|bilateral cooperation has become truly strategic. @MofaJapan_en
|https://x.com/andrii_sybiha/status/1857799974815199382 > I had a good
|and friendly call with @jnbarrot and thanked him for his recent visit to
|Ukraine, including to the Sumy region. We are grateful to France for
|completing the training and equipment of the first Ukrainian brigade. We
|discussed further political and defense cooperation.

|> If you want to understand why the war lasts for so long and why it is
|so bloody... > "Phone calls to #Putin from leaders of democratic
|countries". An extremely strange sense of meaninglessness. To do what?
|To legitimize the aggressor's right to mass murder? To increase the
|aggressor's sense of impunity? To humiliate the democratic coalition in
|the eyes of the autocratic alliance (#Rf/#Iran/#DPRK) by begging for
|collective mercy? Especially since it is obvious that the "Entity Putin"
|itself is only inclined to ultimatums, does not assume any negotiations
|within the framework of international law, and definitely wants to
|continue the war, seize land, kill, kill, and kill once again. So what
|is this passion for telephone conversations with Rf? For what? What is
|the purpose? > Stop giving the "Russian entity" illusion that Western
|civilization is ready to... give in to him and not punish him for
|breaking global rules...

|Hopefully Russian advances slow down as winter approaches, but the next
|few months will be tumultuous with the US administration change. I'm
|still holding out hope (perhaps naively) that Trump won't strong arm
|Ukraine into a deal with Russia and will continue to support the country
|with aid.

  |u/Ok_Wasabi_488 - 6 hours
  |
  |Said it before and I'll say it again. Going to remain cautiously
  |optimistic until he actually takes action. Trump was the first person
  |that initially provided arms to Ukraine, maintained a hardline against
  |Iran and did promote at least one anti-russian hardliner to his
  |cabinet. What trump says and what trump does are two entirely
  |different things.

    |u/iuuznxr - 2 hours
    |
    |The weapons and the sanctions came from Congress and Trump opposed
    |them both. He already wanted to block the sanctions against Russia
    |but couldn't do so because he was powerless and would have gotten
    |his veto overruled, then he withheld the weapons and got impeached
    |for that.

    |u/MarkRclim - 5 hours
    |
    |The republicans already blockaded Ukraine aid for six months and
    |caused a mass casualty disaster. Trump could have stopped that with
    |a single text and he didn't.

    |u/soggie - 5 hours
    |
    |What, the same trump that threatened to pull weapons funding if
    |Ukraine doesn't do a pro bono investigation on Hunter?

      |u/Moxen81 - 1 hour
      |
      |And the same one that praised Putin for his “genius” invasion that
      |he “would have done himself”.

    |u/Ok_Sea_1200 - 2 hours
    |
    |Wouldn't bet on it, have you seen his cabinet now? Doesn't really
    |inspire hope.

    |u/Thesealaverage - 2 hours
    |
    |Yeah, i also thought that i will remaing optimistic - "maybe he just
    |said those bad things about everything but he did not mean them".
    |Now with his cabinet taking shape i see that in fact he meant
    |everything what he and his associates have said.

    |u/Codex_Dev - 2 hours
    |
    |I believe it was Mike Pompeo who authorized it and he has been
    |denied a seat in the new administration.

    |u/Ashamed-Grape7792 - 4 hours
    |
    |>Trump was the first person that initially provided arms to Ukraine,
    |maintained a hardline against Iran and did promote at least one
    |anti-russian hardliner to his cabinet. Damn I had no idea that he
    |provided arms to Ukraine!

      |u/NearABE - 4 hours
      |
      |Congress supplied Javelins. Trump threatened to withhold them
      |unless they came up with political dirt on Hunter Biden.

|Russia has started massive attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure
|again. Overnight and early morning, Russia launched \~120 missiles and
|90 drones. [https://mstdn.social/@noelreports/113497414551233113](https

  |
  |Zelensky: “The enemy’s target was our energy infrastructure
  |throughout Ukraine. Unfortunately, there is damage to objects from
  |strikes and falling debris,” he said in a statement on social media.
  |A massive combined attack targeted all regions of Ukraine. Overnight
  |and this morning, Russian terrorists used various types of drones,
  |including Shaheds, as well as cruise, ballistic, and aeroballistic
  |missiles – Zircons, Iskanders, and Kinzhals. In total, approximately
  |120 missiles and 90 drones were launched. Our air defense forces
  |destroyed over 140 aerial targets. The enemy’s target was our energy
  |infrastructure across Ukraine. Unfortunately, some facilities
  |sustained damage from direct hits and falling debris. In Mykolaiv, a
  |drone attack killed two people and injured six others, including two
  |children. My deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the
  |victims. As of now, some areas remain without power, but all necessary
  |forces are working to mitigate the consequences and restore the
  |infrastructure. We am grateful to all our air defense units that
  |participated in repelling this attack: anti-aircraft missile forces,
  |our aviation – pilots of F16s, Su aircraft, and MiGs, mobile fire
  |groups, and electronic warfare units – all worked together in an
  |organized and coordinated manner. I thank them for their reliable
  |protection.

|Andriy Sybiha, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, reacts to Russia's latest
|missile attack: "This is the response from war criminal Putin to those
|who recently called or visited him. We need peace through strength, not
|appeasement." The attack targeted civilians and critical infrastructure.
