Putin

|don't hold your breath. Start holding more drills, maybe the N.
|Koreans will get nervous.

  |u/BubsyFanboy - 19 hours
  |
  |North Korea doesn't care about their men

    |u/-Average_Joe- - 19 hours
    |
    |they care about preserving their regime

  |u/Jakooboo - 20 hours
  |
  |What are they gonna do, launch some rockets into the sea and beg for
  |food?

    |u/shady8x - 16 hours
    |
    |The world's only super power and the leader of the free world is
    |currently floating around the idea of surrendering in the war in
    |Europe right after the arrival of the 'mighty' North Korea
    |reinforcements which 'must have been the one thing that tipped the
    |scales' of the war. After Trump is in office and makes this official
    |policy, North Korea will forever be able to claim that they forced
    |the free world to it's knees in their propaganda. That kinda shit
    |can greatly increase the ego of any dictator and make him think that
    |he and his army are invincible. And when they think things like
    |that, they invade their neighbors... so for the first time, i don't
    |think the threat of North Korea starting a war with South Korea is
    |zero.

|u/Jubjars - 20 hours
|
|"No. Stop wanting war." *Continues to supply axis to terrorize Ukraine
|and refuses to directly condemn their allies aggression, nearly three
|years into their no-limits partnership*

  |u/burpesozcali - 11 hours
  |
  |China supplying the axis you say? >Ukraine buys more than half of
  |global production of China's DJI Mavic quadcopters
  |https://gagadget.com/en/uav/334416-ukraine-buys-more-than-half-of-
  |global-production-of-civilian-dji-mavic-quadcopters/

    |u/Jubjars - 10 hours
    |
    |I mean they are businessmen first. Xi needs a win, CCP needs money
    |and they don't need Russia failing. Not saying their motivations
    |aren't a bit more complex. It's just enough time has passed for
    |certain things to not escape deniability in a way that's VERY
    |incriminating

      |u/Bananadite - 9 hours
      |
      |So they aren't really supplying anyone. They're just selling
      |drones to whoever buys them.

  |u/lurker_101 - 12 hours
  |
  |**Why would China ever tell NK to stop?** *They are helping building
  |and sending drones to Putin as well.* .. so now Ukraine is fighting 4
  |countries at least

    |u/theblazinasian - 11 hours
    |
    |Well in the same way Russia is fighting like every country that
    |gives them aid. Realistically the only countries Ukraine is fighting
    |are Russia and NK. As they have boots on the ground. Otherwise it
    |gets complicated. With basically dozens of countries supplying
    |Ukraine you wouldn't say Russia is fighting all of Nato and the
    |states. That's a Russian talking point, best to avoid equating aid
    |to actively fighting. It's Ukraine vs Russian and NK, which is
    |plenty bad enough.

    |u/Commercial-Butter - 3 hours
    |
    |Well technically Ukraine had the aid of more than 4 countries lol

|u/VelvetVixen13 - 19 hours
|
|South Korea urges China to halt North Korea Russia ties, but Reddit
|remains skeptical.

|u/AvatarADEL - 19 hours
|
|"No"- Xi Jingping.

  |u/strangelove4564 - 15 hours
  |
  |"See, I told you he was mean."

|u/Silly-avocatoe - 21 hours
|
|South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol asked Chinese President Xi Jinping
|to help stop the DPRK’s provocations, Pyongyang’s deepening military
|cooperation with Moscow, and North Korea’s support for Russia’s war
|against Ukraine. South Korea’s Principal Deputy National Security
|Adviser Kim Tae-hyo said this at a briefing, Ukrinform reports
|citing [Yonhap.](https://en.yna.co.kr/view/AEN20241116000552315) “I
|hope that our two nations will cooperate to promote stability and peace
|in the region in response to North Korea’s repeated provocations, the
|war in Ukraine and military cooperation between Russia and North Korea,”
|Yoon made the remark at a summit with Xi on the sidelines of the Asia-
|Pacific Economic Cooperation in Lima.

  |u/BubsyFanboy - 19 hours
  |
  |Watch them support North Korea anyway.

|u/observethebadgerking - 19 hours
|
|Ah yes, the highly effective *strong condemnation*. That'll do it. Job
|done.

|u/Remote-Ad-2686 - 11 hours
|
|😂 You might as well call Trump… you’ll get the same answer. The world
|order is changing … new partnerships create new enemies and a renewed
|focus on destroying them. Once the US is closed off … the internal
|destruction of Trumps enemies and the enemies of his friends can
|begin….Good night and good luck.

|u/BubsyFanboy - 19 hours
|
|They won't. They'll only do it if they see Russia's case as truly lost
|and so far that unfortunately doesn't seem to be the case.

|u/Mountainman033 - 19 hours
|
|I'm sure he cares deeply about it...

|u/Designer_Buy_1650 - 16 hours
|
|So Xi actually answered the phone? Just kidding, of course he answered
|the phone. But, then he handed it to an aide who held it while Xi ate
|his lunch. After Seoul finished speaking Xi put down his food and said,
|“Okay have a good day.”

|u/goshdagny - 19 hours
|
|Why would South Korea need to care about North Korea participating in a
|war that’s got nothing to do with their hostility and happening
|elsewhere in the world?

  |u/Radiant_Knowledge153 - 19 hours
  |
  |It's giving North Korea experience in modern warfware. That is a
  |threat.

    |u/Sunnysidhe - 16 hours
    |
    |Not only that but they aren't supplying those troops for free.
    |Russia is supplying either weapons or information that will help
    |bolster north Korean military

      |u/AITAadminsTA - 7 hours
      |
      |They paid about 20k per NK soldier, compared to a Russian's value
      |of about 40k that makes NK soldiers a buy 1 get 1 free
      |proposition.

    |u/rustoren - 13 hours
    |
    |Do you mean? Giving their soldiers the experience of being killed by
    |modern weaponry.

      |u/Radiant_Knowledge153 - 5 hours
      |
      |Snarky but foolish. An army consists of (much) more than soldiers.

    |u/goshdagny - 18 hours
    |
    |While I agree that is certainly a threat, I see it similar to some
    |joint drills done with China. Both increase their effectiveness but
    |one can hardly ask them to stop it since SK is not involved at all

      |u/Radiant_Knowledge153 - 18 hours
      |
      |Given that North Korea has been openly hostile, even attacking SK
      |at times. Everything NK does concerns SK.

  |u/ChannelGlobal2084 - 19 hours
  |
  |Maybe because they still think of them as their long lost relatives
  |with hopes of reunification one day?!

    |u/DonkeyTron42 - 17 hours
    |
    |As someone who just got back from spending several months in SK, I
    |can say most people consider NK a lost cause and have no interest in
    |reunification.

    |u/goshdagny - 19 hours
    |
    |I think they do think that way but this is not going to affect it
    |one way or the other

  |u/Jubjars - 17 hours
  |
  |The DPRK / Kremlin alliance is an active terror union that is piling
  |bodies in europe ATM, who routinely threaten nuclear war. Kim even
  |promised to turn Seoul into a "Sea of Fire" if he ever felt
  |threatened. China rewards these actions FOR YEARS (just after the war
  |started I'm not including the decades Kim has been shielded by them
  |prior) while threatening to do similar behaviors to the Taiwanese
  |while operating and pushing a system of no accountability for the man
  |at the top. If you feel like this is a contained issue not
  |drastically endangering the world, and is just a localized civil
  |dispute that can be ignored, you really are ignorant.

|u/Interesting-Type-908 - 18 hours
|
|Just let the South Koreans send in some troops to fight in Eastern
|Europe

  |u/DubayaTF - 18 hours
  |
  |The South Koreans aren't fucking enough to afford sending people off.

    |u/Interesting-Type-908 - 16 hours
    |
    |I guarantee you, South Korea won't sit idle by while North Korea
    |sends thousands of essential bullet sponges.

      |u/Bananadite - 9 hours
      |
      |That's exactly what they are doing

      |u/CuhSynoh - 8 hours
      |
      |They will have to sit idle. Getting further involved with Ukraine
      |would only further strengthen the ties between Russia, China and
      |NK, making things worse for SK. Best they can do is sit and
      |prepare for whatever tech North Korea will get from Russia.

  |u/776e72646d61 - 9 hours
  |
  |Ukraine disrespected South Korea big time recently. Because of this,
  |the vast majority of South Koreans have become anti-Ukraine a couple
  |months ago, even those who were pro-Ukraine. The only ones who are
  |still pro-Ukraine are non-patriotic people who don't mind their
  |country being insulted, people who have personal reasons to support
  |Ukraine (e.g., have Ukrainian friends) and the president, who is
  |extremely unpopular, with the approval rating of less than 20%.

    |u/Interesting-Type-908 - 8 hours
    |
    |I must have missed that. How exactly did Ukraine disrespect South
    |Korea?

      |u/776e72646d61 - 7 hours
      |
      |1. A Ukrainian embassador to Japan visited the jasukuni shrine.
      |This is a huge disrespect to not just SK but also a lot of other
      |East Asian nations who are victims of Japanese invasion in WWII.
      |Remember, japan was the asian equivalent of the nazi germany in
      |WW2. The embassador paid tribute to Asian nazism. 2. The same
      |embassador also shared a map of a territory that is disputed
      |between SK, NK and Japan. The territory was labelled as a Japanese
      |territory on the map. This territorial dispute is one of ths most
      |sensitive geopolitical issues for people in SK.
      |[source1](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ukraine-envoy-
      |disrespects-china-yasukuni-093000291.html) [source2](https://www.
      |pressian.com/pages/articles/2024092610471383021) (use google
      |translate) When Russia signed the new defense contract with NK
      |this summer, a lot of SKs were calling for increase in support for
      |Ukraine, including military support. That sentiment didn't last
      |long and quickly dissipated because of the above controversies.
      |Zelensky went to SK a few weeks ago for an interview, in which he
      |pleaded for military support. Social media platforms were flooded
      |with antipathic comments, with some saying "Don't you favor Japan
      |more? Go seek help from Japan instead." Besides these recent
      |controversies, there are many other reasons why the idea of
      |sending military support is so unpopular in SK. I could elaborate
      |on these if you are interested.

        |> A Ukrainian embassador to Japan visited the jasukuni shrine.
        |EXCUSE ME. To be fair to the Ukrainians, I'm sure they're just
        |ignorant.

    |u/Interesting-Type-908 - 8 hours
    |
    |It would appear [South Korea is exploring sending Ukraine more than
    |just non-lethal
    |materials](https://www.usip.org/publications/2024/11/how-should-

|China's being calling for peaceful negotiations for years. Where was SK
|at that time? What can Xi do to NK when Kim Jong Un doesn't listen to
|anyone? NK stopped following China since he came to power. SK is
|delusional
