|Remind me in 27 years when Jake Paul doesn't fight some up and coming

    |A juiced up 20 year old Jake Paul Jr knocking out his dad would be
    |something to see. If Netflix starts planning now, maybe they’ll
    |even get the live streaming working too!

      |u/UnkindPotato2 - 7 hours

    |the uncle

      |I’m. Just surprised people think that anyone in the Paul family
      |would have anything to do with raising the kid. I think it more
      |depends on whatever poor nanny gets stuck with it.

  |u/PIG20 - 17 hours
  |
  |Please let him go against Canelo. It was brought up at the end of the
  |match and even Jake Paul had to pause for a second. Yes, there is a
  |big payday there but even Jake knew better than to fully call Canelo
  |out. He knows he's nowhere near ready for a fight like that. But
  |man, I'd love to see it.

      |Isn't Canelo worth like 200M+? Jake Paul surely less than that. I
      |don't think Canelo needs the payday.

        |u/Naroyto - 13 hours
        |
        |This is true, but Jake talking about how Canelo "needs him" will
        |have people think otherwise. Most people would just take his
        |opinion as fact unfortunately.

  |u/Naroyto - 15 hours

  |!Remind me 27 years At least now Jake can't say he's knocked out/down

  |Yeah…. After the first fight I wasn’t expecting much. I still believe
  |that Mike could have won in round 2 but decided not to. This was a

  |well. But this wasn’t good for Boxing and Netflix sucks as a sports

    |u/Robot-overlord - 13 hours

    |Yup. Good for Mike grabbing some cash so he can fade into

      |
      |Touché, I agree then

|u/Diligent-Method3824 - 19 hours
|
|That fight was so fake and rigged it became immediately obvious because
|if you watch Mike Tyson's training videos he's putting in so much more
|effort energy and intensity but then you watch the fight and all of a
|sudden he is putting in a fraction of that effort and intensity

  |u/FourDucksInAManSuit - 18 hours
  |
  |In the first round you can see him go all in, throwing some good
  |punches, puts some fear in Paul's eyes, then after that he just
  |stopped doing any of that. He slowed down, stopped trying to punch as
  |much, kept his distance where he could. It's like he realized he
  |screwed up and just stopped trying. It was weird to watch.

    |u/Marston_vc - 16 hours
    |
    |Bruh, he got his bell rung in round 2 and was wobbling the rest of
    |the match. The guy is 58 years old and has a fraction of the stamina
    |he used to. You don’t wonder at all why they made it only 8 rounds
    |and 2 minutes each?

      |u/platinumarks - 13 hours
      |
      |I'd seen some reports that Tyson actually wanted longer rounds
      |than occurred and Jake Paul's side nixed that

        |u/JeepersCreepersV12 - 7 hours
        |
        |It was announced in the beginning that Mike wanted 3 minute
        |rounds. After the 2nd, they announced they'd be dropping them to
        |2 minutes. If it weren't for the ridiculous commentary and
        |Jake's coach I would've tuned out

    |u/AnnihilatorOfPeanuts - 16 hours
    |
    |Yeah, it’s strange that you can see that at the end of the first
    |round (where he was the most active and energetic) Tyson doesn’t
    |seem winded as he go to his corner, he is barely sweating. Then come
    |the start of the second round and he look like he have no energy
    |and can’t do anything.

    |u/Diligent-Method3824 - 16 hours
    |
    |I will say he had more energy in the first round but it still
    |doesn't compare to his energy during his training videos and it's
    |even dumber because his training regimen tends to go longer than
    |that fight went so it doesn't make any sense that he had no energy
    |when he can keep almost the same level of energy throughout his
    |entire training regimen but within like 30 seconds of this actual
    |fight he was done? The math ain't mathing

        |Yeah it didn't look like he was gassed to me. He just couldn't
        |move on his knee. Hard to defend, hard to close the gap, and
        |hard to generate any power if your back leg isn't working.

    |u/lynxbird - 6 hours
    |
    |> then after that he just stopped doing any of that. As someone
    |with experience in amateur boxing, I can say that most people
    |underestimate just how much stamina the sport demands. After just
    |a few minutes, **even holding your hands up and maintaining your
    |guard becomes a struggle**, let alone throwing punches and staying
    |mobile. It's hard to truly grasp until you try it yourself.

  |I don't like Jake Paul, nor is this meant to defend him, but there was
  |basically a 0% Tyson could beat him in this state. I don't know how
  |much you know about boxing, but an age gap like that is just too much.
  |Tyson is just too physically limited with his legs and doesn't have
  |the endurance he had when he was in his 20s to match up with someone
  |who is an adequate boxer in their physical prime like Paul. Also, it
  |would take a drastic change in character for Mike Tyson of all people
  |to intentionally throw a match. It's okay to admit that Jake Paul beat
  |a 60 year old man who was washed up 20 years ago fair and square. It
  |doesn't really reflect well on him, and the narrative that he only
  |fights old retired fighters will still persist.

    |u/Diligent-Method3824 - 15 hours
    |
    |>I don't like Jake Paul, nor is this meant to defend him, but there
    |was basically a 0% Tyson could beat him in this state. What state
    |is that the state of being in shape the same state he's been in his
    |entire life? You heard of old man's strength right? where farmers
    |who have been working the field for years even though they don't
    |look buff our super strong? >I don't know how much you know
    |about boxing, but an age gap like that is just too much. Maybe
    |between two hardcore professional fighters but Jake Paul is amateur
    |at best >Tyson is just too physically limited with his legs and
    |doesn't have the endurance he had when he was in his 20s Nobody
    |said he did but that s*** is irrelevant the literal training
    |regimens that he took to prepare for this fight were multiple times
    |longer than this fight. So he has been training his entire life to
    |go this amount of time and then he's been training very recently
    |again to go this amount of time but he didn't even make it a
    |fraction of that time. Like I don't know where your logic is but
    |again you can watch the training videos for this fight and see him
    |put more energy and intensity into that training than he did into
    |the actual fight. A reasonable person that is crazy amount
    |suspicious that he was able to keep the same energy and intensity
    |for his training regimen which is longer than the fight but he
    |didn't make it 3 minutes with that same energy and intensity in the
    |actual fight. BS at best >Also, it would take a drastic change in
    |character for Mike Tyson of all people to intentionally throw a
    |match. No it wouldn't. This dude is getting broke he wanted money
    |to last him the rest of his life and they told him he'd only have to
    |do one more fight and he wouldn't even have to win to get it You
    |got to be mentally disabled to think that this man is incapable of
    |doing that basic math of literally participating in a fight at all
    |and getting 20 million. To sit here and act like Mike Tyson is
    |somehow a paragon of virtue in the fighting world is stupid. You
    |really think that they throw 20 million at this dude and he was like
    |no I'm really going to give it my all guys even though you said I
    |don't have to win I'm going to fight as hard as I can and risk being
    |injured even though I don't have to? Mike Tyson had more energy
    |when he punched that dude on the plane then he did in that fight.
    |I mean it's blatantly obvious that this dude with a lot to lose
    |including his entire fan base if he gets beat by Mike Tyson had it
    |stipulated in the contract that Mike Tyson had to lose and it makes
    |perfect sense that Mike Tyson who doesn't care about his legacy or
    |his fighting career anymore would take the loss for an easy 20
    |million. You're straight up delusional if you think he fought his
    |hardest when there was no incentive to do so and again you're
    |delusional if you think that Jake Paul didn't have contingencies in
    |his contract that wouldn't sure Mike Tyson gets less money if any
    |money at all if he actually won. There's a reason Jake Paul got 40
    |million for that fight and Mike Tyson got 20 million even though
    |Mike Tyson is bigger and more well-known it's because Jake Paul has
    |more financial potential because his fans are still alive and
    |growing and still very rabidly loyal. Like bro this is basic math
    |that you think this was a straight up legit fight speaks to a level
    |of naivete that would put you on par with like a toddler who still
    |believes in Santa

      |u/Pkyr - 14 hours
      |
      |Your whole assumption is based on the couple of videos all showing
      |**short** snippets with good jabs and combinations? Why do you
      |think they limited the fight time and number of rounds? So that
      |Paul aged 27 in his physical prime would not be exhausted?

        |u/Diligent-Method3824 - 6 hours
        |
        |People like you confuse me because do you not think that if they
        |were purposefully marketing these videos to portray Tyson as
        |exercising and training more than he actually was that that
        |could also mean the fight was still fake? If you're
        |advertising an opponent as training when they aren't training
        |don't you think that that might change the people's perspective
        |on the fight? To put it even simpler if they were telling
        |people Mike Tyson was training while knowing that Mike Tyson
        |wasn't really training the fight was fake. Why would you fake
        |train unless it was for a fake fight?

          |u/Pkyr - 3 hours
          |
          |What? Why would he be fake training? Ofc promotion materials
          |try to show him in as good light as possible to generate
          |excitement by showing best bits.

  |
  |So you're saying he looks better in edited videos than live? Hmmm...

    |u/Diligent-Method3824 - 9 hours
    |
    |So this is what gets me about guys like you you don't seem to
    |realize that if those videos were edited or in any way made to look
    |like Tyson was training more or harder than he actually was that
    |means the fight was still rigged still fake. Like if they made
    |propaganda videos to build up one fighter so the people would expect
    |more from them knowing that that fighter wasn't actually training
    |like that then that is a fake fight. Obviously if people saw
    |videos of him only training for 3 minutes and actually knew or
    |thought that is how long he trained nobody would have thought he
    |would win

  |u/daiz- - 3 hours
  |
  |Yeah I don't care if people want to believe Paul could have outmatched
  |him. Whichever side of the fence you want to fall on, that was a fake
  |fight where neither of them really did anything. I get that Tyson is
  |old but if people truly think he didn't even have the energy for 1
  |round then all the people involved should have never let that fight
  |happen in the first place. It's like Tyson either threw the fight or
  |that was a form of elder abuse, take your pick. Personally I still
  |call shenanigans. You could tell from the beginning Tyson's heart was
  |not in it at all. He threw one good punch early in the first round
  |and then Paul was already starting to grapple and stop him. In my mind
  |it felt like Paul just whispered in his ear to remind him to put on a
  |good show. Tyson then just spent the rest of the fight just pacing and
  |biting his gloves while barely even swinging. Nothing about that
  |fight was real. I remain convinced that Paul just pays these people to
  |lose against him. I feel sorry for the people who bet on that fight or
  |paid to be there.

        |nonetheless) that will use some of his acumen on a trip to the
        |South Pole during winter solstice to Antarctica paying for 3
        |flatearthers and 3 globers. both to prove that private persons
        |can freely go there and one of the strongest arguments for
        |flatearthers is that they think that the sun sets during winter

            |Yes, you're right, but maybe, just maybe, some of them will
            |have the intellectual guts to admit they are wrong.

|It was a cash grab for all parties but Jake Paul loses either way. If he
|lost he got beat by a 60 year old. He won, but he beat up a 60 year old.
|It means nothing. Paul has no interest in actually becoming a serious
|boxer that realistically pursues a world heavyweight championship. He
|wouldn't make it 3 fights against qualified heavyweight contenders his
|age. He knows it. Him and his bro are new age Kardashians, famous for
|being famous with no talent or real entertainment worth.

  |>real entertainment worth. Betting against them is the entertainment.
  |They know it.

    |I agree. Anti entertainers, and unfortunately it's effective

|Mike Tyson's Punch Out came out ten years before Jake Paul was even
|born.

|Some of Eddie Murphys finest work! The Tyson vs Paul was not what it was
|hyped up to be but at least it delivered some of these glorious
|conversations leading up to the event.🤣

|Issue is you can see it in their eyes, they knew it was going to be a
|bad fight. Furthermore Jake is still a shit fighter....

|If there had been punches thrown I might have had some respect for him.
|He lost that when every time Tyson went for it he came in for a lovely
|cuddle instead

|u/theRedlightt - 6 hours
|
|If you can call that a fight. Tyson had only 2 punches per round. The
|main event was just a scripted cash grab of dancing, two heavy weights
|fighting and not 1 visible sign on either that they actually had a
|fight.

|The earlier cards were pretty entertaining at least. Taylor v Serrano

|
|In his actual pro career, the one that ended in 2005, Tyson won 3 of his
|final 15 fights. It’s just a natural progression for a guy who stuck
|around past his prime because he needed the money.

|Mike was just kinda standing there the whole time trying not to
|obliterate that child. The few times he hit paul, it looked painful.
|When paul hit him it looked like he got hit by a toddler.

|They just needed to play "In the Air Tonight". Jake Paul would be dead
|after the drum solo
