My wife calls it a 'dump cake', I guess because you just dump the ingredients in a cake pan and bake. Its especially good soon after you take it out of the oven and is still warm. A little ice cream or whipped topping is nice. There is great temptation to eat it right out of the pan until you're sick, so be careful. --------------------- Dump Cake 1 can crushed pineapple 1 can cherry pie filling (blueberry is good, too) 1 box yellow cake mix 1 to 1.5 sticks butter some chopped pecans or walnuts Pour the can of crushed pineapple and juice into the bottom of a rectangular cake or casserole dish. Pour the cherry (or whatever) pie filling on top of the pineapple. Quantities aren't too important, just make sure you cover the bottom of the dish. Shake a box of dry yellow cake mix (pound cake is good, too) all over the top of the fruit and spread evenly. Then slice the butter into patties and spread them out evenly over the cake mix. Top with the chopped nuts. Shove all this in a pre-heated oven at 425 degrees or so, and bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown all over.
