Autcsrgv.120 net.cooks utcsrgv!jrc Fri Feb 12 10:44:21 1982 Re: what to put in your yogurt Fantastic Banana Yogurt INGREDIENTS 1 pint unseweetened unflavoured balkan style yogurt (*not* swiss style, it often contains gelatin, which ruins the texture (and goes badly with bananas)) 1 completely ripe banana 3 small glass yogurt containers METHOD Allow the banana to ripen to the point where the sugar spots are clearly visible all over. Slice the banana into 1/4 inch thick slices and distribute them evenly in the bottom of the three empty yogurt containers. (Come to think of it, it's probably a good idea to peel the banana first.) Fill the containers up with yogurt. Keep in the fridge (up to 10 days). The balkan style yogurt is a must. If you're here in the Great White North, my favourite brand is Astro. If you have a sweet tooth, use whole milk yogurt. I myself prefer it slightly tart, so I use 2% milk yogurt. Skim milk yogurt will reduce the sweetness even more. This is a flavour I never get tired of, and I'm sure yogurt lovers everywhere will enjoy it.
