Washington Blooming with Cherry Blossoms

by VOA News

The blooming of the perennial cherry blossoms, a Washington Springtime
attraction, is being challenged by Mother Nature.

Some worry the cool weather and gusting winds swirling around the
nation's capital could shorten this week's peak bloom of the famous
cherry blossom trees surrounding the tidal basin.

The trees are expected to keep their puffy white petals through Sunday,
   weather permitting.
