Hijacked Egyptair Plane Lands in Cyprus by VOA News An Egyptian passenger jet was forced to land in Cyprus on Tuesday after a hijacker threatened to detonate an explosive belt. The EgyptAir flight was originally due to travel from Alexandria to Egypt's capital, Cairo, before being diverted to Larnaka airport in Cyprus. It was not immediately clear if multiple hijackers were involved, but the airline said negotiations led to the release of "all of the passengers, except the crew and four foreigners." The Egyptian civil aviation ministry said there had been 81 passengers on board the flight. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/hijacked-egyptair-plane-lands-in-cypr us/3259165.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/hijacked-egyptair-plane-lands-in-cyprus/3259165.html
