Harbor Seals Migrate to Haven in East China by Reuters Dozens of harbor seals were recently seen on the islands of Yantai City of east China's coastal Shandong province. The seals, bathing in the sun and swimming in the water of the west Pacific Ocean, were believed to be the first batch of the animal this year migrated from the far north in Russia. About 200 seals migrate from the Frigid Zone to northeast China every year from March to June through the Bering Strait and the Sea of Okhotsk to spend the warm spring and breed. The animal, under China's state-level protection, are usually found along temperate and Arctic marine coastlines of the Northern Hemisphere. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/harbor-seals-east-china/3266830.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/harbor-seals-east-china/3266830.html
