Musharraf Seeks Bail Extension Pakistan`s former president Pervez Musharraf went to court Friday in the South Asian nation to obtain an extension on his bail in a series of cases, including the 2007 assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. Mr. Musharraf, who returned home from four years of self-imposed exile earlier this week, arrived at the Sindh High court in Karachi, which last week granted him temporary, protective bail before he flew back to Pakistan. A man threw a shoe at the former president as he headed into court. Early last year, Mr. Musharraf announced plans to return to Pakistan to lead the All Pakistan Muslim League party and run in future elections. Mr. Musharraf seized power in a 1999 coup and briefly imposed a state of emergency in Pakistan before resigning in 2008. He has since lived in London and Dubai. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/musharraf-seeks-bail-extension/163091 1.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/musharraf-seeks-bail-extension/1630911.html
