Prosecutors in High-Profile Florida Murder Trial Close Arguments Prosecutors in Florida have completed their closing arguments against Hispanic George Zimmerman, who is charged with killing a black teenager last year. The defense for Zimmerman will give closing arguments Friday, and then the prosecution will have one more chance at rebuttal. Jurors could begin deliberating that same day. Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder. He saw 17-year-old Trayvon Martin while driving in his neighborhood and called police. A fight ensued after the neighborhood watch volunteer got out of his vehicle that ended in Zimmerman shooting Martin. Zimmerman claims the shooting was in self defense, with Martin slamming his head into the concrete pavement as he fired his gun. The prosecution claims Zimmerman profiled the teen and assumed he was up to no good. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/prosecutors-in-highprofile-florida-mu rder-trial-close-arguments/1700168.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/prosecutors-in-highprofile-florida-murder-trial-close-arguments/1700168.html
