Syrian Blast Kills Students In eastern Syria, students are reported among the dead from a car bomb explosion near a primary school in the province of Homs. State-run media say the attack in the town of Umm al-Amed killed eight people, including six children. Opposition activists reported at least 12 people killed. Elsewhere, Syrian rebels say government aircraft continue to bomb rebel-held areas in the northern city of Aleppo. The attacks have been going on eight days. Rebel activists say the government is dropping "barrel bombs" on civilians.
