Bush Says Victory in Iraq Will Honor War Dead --------------------------------------------- (http://enews.voanews.com/t?ctl=EABD97:3919ACA President says US troops in Iraq are fighting to protect Americans at home from terrorist attacks George W. Bush (file photo)President Bush says U.S. troops in Iraq are fighting to protect Americans at home from terrorist attacks. The president said during his weekly radio address Saturday that if America does not confront what he called "these evil men" abroad, then Americans will have to face them one day in their own cities and streets. His comments come as anti-war protesters continue their vigil outside his Texas ranch, led by grieving mother Cindy Sheehan who lost her son in Iraq. Ms. Sheehan was in Los Angeles Friday to tend to her sick mother, but promised to return to the makeshift camp soon. Recent opinion polls show a majority of Americans do not approve of Mr. Bush's handling of the war. The president is scheduled to defend the war during speeches next week at a veterans group and a National Guard group. Some information for this report provided by AFP and AP.
