This document is a complete walkthrough for every stage of the game
"Super Mario Bros. 3" on the Nintendo Entertainment System. This game
is one of the best Mario games ever created; some say THE best ever. It
has some of the best graphics you can find on the NES, and its levels
are complex and full of secrets. That's exactly the reason why I wrote
this walkthrough. There is a whole lot to be discovered in this game,
and I want to make sure you find every last coin and 1-up!

Once again Mario is back!

With is brother Luigi by his side, he embarks on another adventure into
a strange world of flying turtles and magic mushrooms. He's back in a
world much more like Super Mario Bros. 1, and much less like Super
Mario Bros 2. The princess is kidnapped, and it's up to Mario to rescue
her from the clutches of the Koopa Clan.

Bowser, the king of the Koopas, has enlisted the help of any members of
his family tree that share his lust for Princess Peach and the total
control of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Help Mario and Luigi rescue the Priness once and for all!
(or at least until Super Mario World)

|-III.---------------------- THE WALKTHROUGH -------------------------|

Okay, now let's get down to business.

This game is split up into a toal of 8 "Worlds". Each of these contain
a number of stages. The stages are listed as what world they are in, a
dash, and then what number they are assigned on the World Map.

Example: Stage 5-3 is the 3rd stage in World 5.

Also please take note that this walkthrough was written under the
assumption that you will begin each stage as small Mario. Keep that in
mind when I tell you what power-ups you will recieve from the ? blocks;
because obviously if you are already Big Mario, you will not recieve
a Magic Mushroom from a ? block, but rather a Fire Flower or a Feather.

Got it?...good, then let's get to it.

Wait till the Goomba passes by the ? blocks and then hop on him. Hit
both of the first two ? blocks you come to, and the jump up onto that
pink square. Hit the one on the right first, and pick up the Magic
Mushroom that pops out. Then hit the the ? block on the left. Now run
over to the green pipe, and wait next to it a second for the Piranah
Plant to slide back down the hole. Then jump over it and onto the green
rectangle. Let the Goomba pass by underneath you and jump over to the
next green rectangle when you see that the red koopa is out of the way.
When you land, hop on the Koopa once and pick up his stunned shell. Now
walk over to the right, as you still carry the shell, and throw it at
the ? block you see sitting on the ground. Then quickly jump over to the
opposite side of that block and pick up the feather.

Continue to the right, hitting the next block above your head and kill
all the Goombas you run into, including the red one that can fly. Then
turn around and run back to the ? block you got your feather from. Now
face the right again, hold down the B button, and press right on the
directional pad. Press the A button when you see that your Power Meter
is full, and keep tapping it to fly up. Follow the trail of coins in
the sky as you fly upward, and you will be lead to pink rectangle
floating in mid air. Land on it and pick up the three coins above your
head. Then jump onto the smiling clouds to your right and hit the gold
block above your head. Hop up there to get your Extra Life Mushroom
before it gets away.

Now hop up onto the next set of smiling clouds, picking up the two
coins along the way. Now walk along this path and pick up all of the
coins you see over head. When you reach the edge, turn back to face the
left and walk back over to where this cloud path began. Now turn to
face the left and start running. You should fill up your Power Meter
just before you reach the end. Press the A button when it is filled up,
and then keep pressing it to flutter forward and pick up the coins
dangling in the sky. Keep fluttering foward and eventually you will
start to hover back down to the surface.

You should land on a small pink square, that is just before a break
in a long green pipe that ascends far into the sky. Hop on the red
Koopa that is on your left and pick up his shell. While standing on the
block he once occupied, face the left and throw it at the small pile of
golden bricks. Stay up on the block until the red Koopa shell fly
competely off screen and does not come back. There is now one block
that you can hit from below. So hit it and you will revel a Power
Switch. Jump on it to activate it, and it will turn all of the
surrounding golden bricks into coins. But the effect is only temporary,
so you need to scramble to pick them all up.

Now start heading to the right again and jump through the hole in the
green pipe. Jump over the next green pipe and just keep running to the
right, which will eventually lead to the end of this stage.

Run to the right until you reach a pipe laying down on its side. Jump
over that pipe, and hold the down on the direction key to slide to the
bottom of the hill. This will kill the first Goomba. Then wait at the
bottom of the hill for the second Goomba to make his way down the hill,
and stop on him. Hit the ? block above you, and then hop up on top of
it to pick up the Magic Mushroom.

Jump up onto the sidways pipe and hop back down onto the grassy path on
the other side. Carefully walk up the hill ahead, and either avoid or
stomp the red flying Goomba. Jump over the green pipe you find at the
top, but DON'T pick up any of the coins floating in the air. Instead
just walk down the hill and avoid touching those coins completely. At
the very bottom of that hill you should get a running start, and then
both stop and press down to slide under the golden bricks that sit just
off of the grass. Jump when you are directly under the first brick and
you will reveal a Power Switch. Hit it to turn all of the coins in this
area into golden blocks.

You need to then, as fast as you can, use the blocks to jump up to the
green pipe above. Wait for the Piranah Plant to slide back down the
pipe, and then jump onto it. Press the down button to enter into a
secret area. When the music stops the pile of golden bricks in this
room will turn back into coins, and you can collect them all up. Then
exit this room via the black pipe on the left side of the screen.

You will resurface out of the pipe you ran into just before you hit
the switch. Now you can collect all of the coins in the air as you go
down the hill. Run to the right and hop all the way to the top of the
next steep hill. On the other side below, you will see a red flying
Koopa bouncing underneath a couple of musical blocks. Jump down there
and kill the Koopa, and then stand under the music block and hit it.
Pick up the feather that floats down to you.

Slide down the hill that follows to quickly clear out the Koopas, and
wait next to the green pipe until the Piranah Plant slides down into
his pipe. Hop up onto this green pipe and use white musical blocks
ahead to carry you over to large gap. You need to bounce off of each
one, so that means you have to press "A" each time you land on one to
have enough bounce to reach the next one. The third one you bounce off
of will release a Star Man. Pick it up if it goes to the right, but let
is go if it heads to the left.

When the next pipe is clear jump over it and hit the block on the other
side. Then climb up the hill and jump over the stubby little green pipe
laying on its side. Slide down this last hill, and you'll be carried
right to the end of this stage.

Kill the Koopa that is pacing around just ahead of you and pick up his
discared shell. Carry it with you, and throw it at the Hammer Brother
that is just ahead. Jump up to avoid the ricocheting shell to come
flying right back at you. Continue right and hop up onto the pile of
golden bricks. When its clear jump over to the right half of the pile
and jump on the red Koopa once. Pick up his shell and throw it to your
left. Give it a few seconds to finish boucning around, and then jump
down into the remains. There are four bricks to your right that are
just above the ground. Run under and hit the first one from the left
to reveal a Magic Mushroom. Now hop up into the ruins above and pick
him up.

Now hop back out of them and start walking to your left. Kill the green
Koopa you run into, but don't worry about using his shell for anything.
Jump over the vertical pillar made of four blocks, and kill the Goomba
pacing around on the other side. Then walk right up to the next
vertical pillar of blocks and jump. This will knock a feather out of
the top block, so jump up there and get it.

And then turn around and go left again, over the vertical pillar and
back to the broken golden brick pile. The red Koopa is back on top of
it, but you can ignore it for now. You will see that there is a white
musical note brick floating on the left side, and it has three golden
bricks underneath it. Stand to "Mario-lengthes" to the right of that
white musical not brick and jump up. This will reveal a red musical
note brick, jump onto this brick and you will then be shot up into a
bonus area.

This area is a big time coin pickup, but it also hides a secret up high
in the clouds. Just keep walking forward and picking up coins, up until
you come to a fourth collection of coins. At that time you need to run
all the way to the left, turn around, and run right until you get your
Power Meter up to full strength. Then press "A" to become airborne, and
keep pressing "A" to flutter up into the clouds above. Up there you
will find a single golden brick surrounded by a lot of coins. Hit the
golden brick from underneath, and fly over it to pick up the extra
life. Try to pick up as many coins as you can up here while you are
still airborne. Then you will drop back down to the cloud below. Pick
up all the remaining coins, and then go down the pipe at the end.

This pipe will drop you just outside the end of this stage, but you
aren't done just yet. Instead go left until you come to a white block.
Kill the red Koopa that is pacing around up there and throw his shell
out of your way. Now stand on the block and hold the down direction key
for about 6 seconds. You will eventually drop down into the background.
Now run as fast as you can all the way to the end. You need to jump
over any enemies in your way. You are in the background, however they
can still hurt you. Run all the way to the end, back behind the black
background.

Now you find yourself in a hidden pick-up room. Oddly enough there is
only one chest to choose here. Open it up and you will recieve a magic
whistle!, which will be placed in your Item Storage. This whistle, when
used anytime on the Map Screen, will transport you to an area where you
may skip to a new world. It's best to save it for when the stages get a
little harder than these, but you can use it whenever you wish.

If you have any feathers in your Item Storage, this would be a good
time to use one. This stage is not really neccessary, as I think you'll
find Stage 1 - 3 a whole lot easier. But for those of you who like to
do everything...

You don't move in this stage, so much as the stage moves you! It will
scroll to the side as you play, which will force you to keep moving.
First jump off of the green block and unto the golden bricks ahead.
Wait until the floating brown pad is directly in-between the you and
the next line of golden bricks, and use it to get you over there. These
brown pads will start to drop as soon as you land on them, so you
can't stand on them for any length of time. Just jump onto it, land,
and then jump onto what ever is ahead of you.

Jump up and snatch the three coins overhead as you wait for the next
brown pad to arrive. Wait until TWO are visible on screen. Then jump
onto the lower one first, then the one above that, and then onto the
next line of golden bricks following that. Stand on this one until the
next brown pad flys in, and then jump onto it and then onto the "L"
shaped golden bricks. Wait until more of the screen is revealed to you,
and then jump onto the next set of golden bricks in the "L" shape.

Then jump over onto the three bricks that form a smaller "L" shape, and
then over onto the line of bricks holding a red Koopa. Jump on him once
and then throw his shell out of your way. Then quickly jump up onto the
upper-most brown pad, and off of that jump onto the line of golden
bricks that look like a "L" turned on its side. Wait up here a second
for two brown pads to appear on screen and then use them both to reach
the line of three golden bricks.

Wait here until the next brown pad is perpendicular to the line of
coins, and then jump onto it. Ride it down to pick up all of the coins,
and then jump threw the hole and onto the next "L" of golden bricks. In
just a second another brown pad will arrive, and you need to jump onto
it as soon as you can, even though you can't see the next one yet. By
the time you land it should be in view. So jump up onto that next pad,
and then up onto the vertical column of thre golden bricks. Then jump
down onto horizontal line of bricks.

When the red flying Koopa is up as high as he goes, you need to jump
off of him and use that extra bounce to reach the green pipe on the
other side. To accomplish this you must press "A" as soon as you land
on him.

Go down the green pipe and you will be dropped off near the end of this
stage. Ignore the Hammer Brother to your left, and just run to your
right.

|   Koopa Castle   |
 ==--------------==

Jump up the three steps ahead and stop at the first lava pit. Wait
until the fireball disappears below before you leap over it. The same
goes for the next one and the next one after that. Now you are standing
on a line of grey blocks. Hit the ? block above your head and pick up
the Magic Mushroom. Jump over one more lava pit and go down the three
steps. Wait until the spinning ball is all the way to the right, and
then run forward. This will ensure it will be out of your way by the
time you get there. Do the same for the next spinning ball that is at
the top of the next set of three steps.

Walk down to more steps and wait until both fireballs have disappeared
below you, and then jump over the pit. Then wait for the next spinning
ball to be all the way on the left and then jump onto that next section
of stone. Stand directly on top of the red circle while you wait for
the next fireball to disappear below, and then leap over the pit. Time
you jump so that the spinning ball is on the other side of you, your
left side. On the other side of the lava pit is a ? block. Jump up to
hit it, and then pick up the feather. Hop on the skeleton that is
coming your way to crumble it for a second, and then walk over to the
brown rectangle in the corner. Press up while standing in it to enter
into the next area of the castle.

From here immediately run forward, but stop when you are standing under
the area of the ceiling that is slightly elevated. This is the only
place around here that you won't be damaged by the spikes above. Wait
here for the ceiling to rise completelly, and when it does you should
make a running leap onto the next stack of blue blocks, and then onto
the floor that is just ahead. Run all the way to the back wall and wait
for the ceiling to come down. You'll be safe standing here. When the
ceiling raises back up, you can press Up on the direction key to enter
the boss battle for this castle.

The key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time to attack.
Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up. Then wait
just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even though he
still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have just let his
guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this one more time
and he is down for good.

Pick up the circle marked with the ? to end the castle and open up the
barriers it was holding up.

**Look near the bottom of this document for info on how to get the Warp
  Whistle from this stage.**

|    Stage 1 - 5    |
 ==---------------==

First, slide down the hill and clear out the 5 Buzzy Bettles that are
heading your way. Collect the four coins from the small ice pond, and
start ascending the hill in front of you. Stop for a second at the top,
and wait for the Piranah Plant to disappear into the green pipe above.
Then stomp on the bettle and toss his shell off to the side. Then wait
until the Piranah Plant in the pipe below you is gone and jump onto it.
From ther go right and collect the coins floating above the first pond
you come to. Then you'll come to a comple of "Mario-sized" ponds, and
then up to a slightly larger pond that contains a ? block. Jump into
the water and hit the block. Just let the Magic Mushroom float down to
you.

Now climb up the steep hill ahead, and at the top you can then jump
up onto the top of another steep hill. Slide down this hill to kill the
Koopa trying to get at you, and then jump down the hole you find at the
end. But DON'T slide down this hill, because there is a Piranah Plant
waiting for you at the bottm. Instead wait for him to enter his pipe,
and then jump over it. Then walk over infront of the pipe coming down
from the ceiling, and wait for this next Piranah Plant to be gone.

When he's gone you can run straight ahead until you come to a dead end
and one final pipe coming down from above. Jump up into this pipe to be
transported to the end of this stage. Now just run to the right and you
are done.

|    Stage 1 - 6    |
 ==---------------==

Jump up onto the striped square just ahead of you, and then up onto the
striped square just past and above that one. Jump up onto the next
thin platform you see and jump on the red Koopa. Pick up his shell and
take a few steps to the right until you can see the next red Koopa.
Throw your shell down at him to clear him out of the way. And then hop
down there where he use to be. Hit the ? block above your head and
snatch up the Magic Mushroom.

Jump up on top of that block and then up onto the next striped
platform. Walk to the right edge and you will see another platform that
is sliding up and down a zig-zag line. Jump onto that platform and wait
there for just a second. Carefully walk to the far edge of this
platform and you will see a couple of white musical note blocks, as
well as the edge of another platform. Jump over onto the white blocks,
and bounce off of them and onto the next brown platform. Then wait for
the red flying Koopa to fly as low as he goes, and then jump over him
and into the small area that confines the green Koopa. Jump on him once
and throw his shell OUT of this little confined area.

Hit the golden brick that is above you and on the far right. Then hit
the brick that is now on the far right and pick up the extra life that
pops out. Then jump off of this green platform and onto the next green
platform, which is about 1/4 the size of the one you were just on. From
there jump onto the long brown platform that appears to be suspended by
a couple of blue cables, and then onto the next short little platform.

From here you can see that here is a break between this, and the next,
brown platform. And at the bottom of that gap is a tiny little piece of
a platform that you can land on. Jump down the gap and be sure you land
on the little square. Then, jump onto platform on your right and be
prepared for a little ride. Pick up the first two coins you pass, and
jump off of the red flying Koopa and use that extra bounce to reach the
next couple of coins. Just be sure you do land on the platform moving
below you.

At the end of the thin black line the platform you are one will drop,
so before that happens you should jump onto the three small squares.
Walk over to far right edge of this platform and you will see another
platform sliding around to your right. Wait until is slides over to
you and then jump onto it. Then let is slide over to the right, and
jump onto the platform you see going up and down the zig-zag path.

Walk over to the right edge of this platform you and will see there is
land just to the right of the red flying Koopa. So walk back over to
the other edge of this platform, turn around, and make a flying leap
off the right edge and over the red flying Koopa. Now just run to your
right and straight to the finish.

|    The Koopas' Airship    |
 ==-----------------------==

This, as is the case with all Airship stages, is a scrolling stage. In
other words it will move to the side, and you need to keep moving with
it, or else! So first keep running to the right until your reach the
first cannon. Stand on top of it so you will destroy every cannon ball
as soon as it is fired. When the second Cannon comes into view, jump
over it, but not on top of it. Because there is a large Gun about to
come into view. Stay low to the ground and wait for a bullet to be
fired. Then you know you will have enough time to jump up onto the Gun.

But you can't stay there too long either, because there is another
cannon pointed at this exact location. So let the screen scroll just a
little jump over onto the next Cannon on the bround below, and then
onto that brown wooden square. Then quickly step down into the open
area below you so as to avoid the Gun straight ahead on the right. You
will be safe here for just a moment.

When the coast is clear you can jump over the pillar the Gun sits on
and over to the ? block. Hit it and pick up the Magic Mushroom that
pops out. But don't stay up on top of it for too long. Now wait
unitl the Multi-Cannon formes a cross (NOT an X) and jump over the
thin wooden pillar in front of you. Keep running forward, jumping over
the next cannon, and up to the next short pillar that is holding up
another Gun. Let the screen scroll for a while and eventually a
staircase will come into view. Jump up on top of the Gun, and then do a
flying leap over to the very top of the staircase. Go down the grey
pipe at the top to enter into the Boss Fight.

This is you first fight with one of Bowser's seven minions. This guy
can hurt you one of two ways: either by shooting you with his magic
wand or by you accidently landing on his spiked back.

Jump on him once and then quickly jump away again to avoid his spinning
shell. He will then fire off a shot from his wand. So jump over those
three little rings and pound him again. Now run to one side to allow
his shell to flip up over you and then jump away again to avoid his
crazy spinning. Let him fire one last time, and then jump over those
little magic rings and onto him to finish him off. When the magic wand
drops down, you can just go over there to pick it up, and then go take
it back down to the gracious King below. Nice Job!

|    Stage 2 - 1    |
 ==---------------==

Run straight for the pile of three golden bricks you see straight ahead
of you, and jump up and land on the top brick. Then jump over onto the
top brick in the next stack of three. This will reveal an enemy in
disguise; something you wil run into a lot in this stage. Then jump
over into the area underneath the ? block, and wait there a second for
the next enemy to land on the ? block. When it does you can hit the
block to both destroy the enemy, and out pops a Magic Mushroom. Hop
up onto that ? block to pick it up.

Then jump onto the tallest pillar of golden bricks that is just infront
of you, and then jump onto the pillar that ends the first pile to kill
another hidden enemy. From here jump onto the next three pillars to
hop on three more enemies. Then step down from the third pillar and hop
on the Koopa one time. Pick up his shell and throw it out of the way,
and then hit the two ? blocks above your head. Pick up the Star Man
and make a mad dash to the right, taking down all enemies in your path.

You will come to a couple of white musical not blocks that lead onto
a purple pipe structure. Use the white blocks to bounce onto the piping
and kill the Goomba up there. Walk the length of the pipe, and drop off
of the edge when you reach the other side. Then walk over to the left
and break the golden brick that is in the piping over your head. Jump
up and step into the area incased by the purple pipe. Go to your left
and pick up the four coins, and then hit the golden brick and retrieve
your extra life. Then walk just a little farther left, and break the
golden brick above you to get back to the top of the pipe.

Once you are back on top you can run to the right and jump over the
gap between this, and the next purple pipe. Walk to the end of this
pipe and step off of the right edge when it comes to an end. Then walk
to the left and hit the first golden brick you come to above you head.
Then wait a second for the fire to jump out of the piped-in area, and
then you jump up in there and collect all of the coins inside. Then
hit the golden brick above your head on the left and jump back to the
top of this purple pipe.

From here run to the right, and up to the first orange pipe you come
to. Wait until the Piranah Plant drops down into its pipe, and then
jump that pipe, and then onto the golden brick that is directly to the
stack of three bricks to kill the last of the hidden enemies. Now jump
over the next orange pipe and run to the finish.

|    Stage 2 - 2    |

Run up the hill ahead and slide down the next one to kill a Goomba. But
jump before you reach the bottom to avoid the quicksand pit, and the
Piranah Plant that sits inside it. Run up the next step hill and bump
into the wooden block at the top. This will reveal a Magic Mushroom.
Pick up the three coins as you jump onto the orange pipe on the other
side of the narrow pit, and then jump forward over the Piranah Plant
below and onto another steep hill. Walk straight up it and you will
find a body of water, and a little pad for you to ride on.

Jump onto the brown pad and it will start to slide forward. Hop on the
green flying Koopa you pass by, and jump to reach the three floating
coins. Now crouch down to slide under the next two golden bricks, and
jump when you are directly underneath the second one. Quickly jump on
the Power Switch that you reveal, and then quickly back onto the
floating brown pad. It will now take you through a series of coins that
used to be bricks. You can now ride the pad all the way to the end of
the water, and it will disappear into the right wall when you arrive
at a orange pipe, but DON'T enter into this pipe yet.

Instead you should go back to the water and retrieve all of the missed
coins and non-broken bricks. Never sink in the water; instead always
stay on the surface. Try to stay up in the air for as long as possible.
When you ge back to the six remaining coins, you can jump up at the
space inbetween the two groups of three to reveal a hidden block and
out will pop an extra life. Jump up there before it falls into the
water.

Now just turn around and head back across the water. When you reach the
end you can enter into the orange pipe. Finally, just make a run for
the finish line.

|   Koopa Castle   |

Run down the stairs and hop on the first skeleton you run into. Then
continue right, doing the same to the next two skeletons, and stopping
in front of the Angry Spike Block. Let it drop, and then run under it
while it is sliding back up to the ceiling. Then crush the next
skeleton, jump up those stairs, and crush another skeleton. Run up to
the Angry Spike Block and wait for him to drop. Then run under him, and
don't stop running to you reach the green pipe ahead. Jump when you are
standing underneath that pipe to travel up into the next area of the
castle.

Don't stand here for too long, because the Boo that was chasing you in
the previous room can travel through the walls and still get you. Run
to the right and jump onto the stone block that is floating in mid-air.
Next jump on the line of 5 grey squares that are underneath the Angry
Spike Block, and stand on the second square from the left. Wait for him
to slam down, and then run underneath him when it is clear. Then jump
over the bed of spikes and onto the next platform. Jump up to hit the
gray brick over your head, and pick up the Magic Mushroom that pops up.

Stand on this brick for a second, and turn to face the Boo. You will
notice that he only chases after you when you are NOT facing him. So
start running to the right and don't stop, even though their are Angry
Spike Blocks overhead. If you never stop running, they won't be able to
hit you. Run up to the blue rectangle in the back corner of this room,
and press up to into into the next area of the castle.

Wait for the bed of nails to hit the floor, and start sliding up. This
is the time you should run under the first four spikes, but stop when
you reach the gap between this, and the next bed of spikes. When the
next set of spikes is up you can run under it but stop at the next gap.
As soon as you reach that gap you need to turn and face the left, or
else the Boo will start chasing after you. Then when the next bed of
spikes is up you can run underneath it, but you will have to crouch
towards the end to slide underneath the last of the spikes. Then turn
to your left and allow the Boo to your right to move to the other side
of you. Then both he, and the other Boo, will stop dead in their
tracks. When the final bed of spikes lifts up, you can run under it and
right up to the small gray rectangle. Press up while standing inside it
to be transported to the final room of this castle.

The key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time to attack.
Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up. Then wait
just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even though he
still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have just let his
guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this one more time
and he is down for good.

Pick up the circle marked with the ? to end the castle and open up the
barriers it was holding up.

|    Stage 2 - 3    |
 ==---------------==

First jump up onto the lower level of the pyramid. Hop on the red Koopa
and pick up his shell. Then jump up to the top level of the pyramid
and stand on one of the two ? blocks. Throw the shell into the area
directly between the two blocks to destroy the two golden bricks that
block access to the ? blocks. Hit the ? block on the left to get a
coin, and the one on the right to get a Magic Mushroom. Then climb down
to the bottom of this pyramid and go right. Use the line of three
brown squares to cross the gap in the ground, and jump up onto the next
large yellow pyramid.

Climb to the top of this pyramid and break the two golden bricks, and
then the two ? blocks above them. The one on the right contains a Star
Man. Then climb to the bottom of this pyramid, jump up onto the line of
three little brown squares, and jump onto the next big pyramid. Jump on
the green Koopa, and throw his shell at the fireball jumping around at
the top of the pyramid. Then step onto the second level from the top
and break the two golden bricks and the two ? blocks. The one on the
left contains a feather. Walk down to the bottom of this last pyramid,
and just as usual you can cross over the gap via the line of little
brown squares.

In front of you is a huge stack of golden bricks. Wait at the bottom
until the green Koopa comes down to you. Then you can jump on him and
throw his shell out of the way. Then jump up to the top of the
"staircase" of golden bricks. Jump on the brick at the very top to kill
a hidden enemy, and then use the little squares to cross from the top
of one brick stack to the next.

Climb up to the very top of the second stack, and then step down to
bricks to the left. Then jump straight up to reveal a white musical
note block. Now jump from the top of the brick stack up onto the white
block above. Jump up from the white block just a little to the left,
and you will reveal an invisible brick. Now jump from the white block
up onto the now revealed block, and then up onto the line of golden
bricks that is to your right. Pick up all of the coins off from up here
and then, starting from the left edge, run to the right and make a
flying leap off of the right edge. You will land on top of the final
golden brick pile.

You will see that below you are a couple of green Koopas; pacing back
and forth and running into each other. Drop down the opening to your
right to stun one of them, and then quickly jump back up because you
will then start the shells moving. As the shell ricochets off of the
walls, you will need to step down the staricase on your left as the
shell moves down to the bottom of the brick pile. You can't allow it to
disappear off screen.

When the shell is at the very bottom of the structure, it is then safe
to go down there. Jump on the shell just once to stun it. Next walk
underneath the single block that is up against the orange pipe. Hit it
until it you stop getting coins. Then you can jump up on top of, and go
down, the orange pipe. And when you come back up on the other end, you
can just run to the right to finish.

|  Sunny Sandstorm  |

This level involves eluding the grasp of a very sinister looking sun.
At first he just sits up in the sky frowning down upon you, but about
halfway into it he will start trying to attack you.

First begin running towards the right side of the screen, and jump
over the first three quicksand pits. When you pass the third pit you
then need to start looking at the background. You will see on the
horizon line behind you that there are these clusters of plants that
look like "Cousin It" from the Addams Family. Anyway you need to start
running and, when you pass the third one in the background, you need to
jump up and carry yourself over the spinning sand tornado.

And as soon as you land, the sun will start to attack you. It will spin
around a couple of times in the air, and then swoop down to get you.
When you see it about to swoop down you need to Stop, Let it get close
to hitting you, And then jump over it. Then start running to the right
until you see it is about to strike again.

Be on the lookout for winged green Koopas as you run and jump across
the sand and bricks, and up to the next quicksand pit. Jump over that
pit, run up the hill that follows, and then jump over the much larger
quicksand pit that follows. Then make a mad dash for the finish ahead.

|    Stage 2 - 4    |
 ==---------------==

Walk to the right and kill the red flying Goomba you run into. Then hit
the ? block that is not too far past him. Hop up on the first red Koopa
and just throw his shell somewhere out of the way. Then jump over to
the opposite pillar and jump on that Koopa. Pick up his shell and,
while standing on the second pillar, turn to face the ? block below you
and throw the red shell. Then immediately jump down and land on the ?
block. By the time you get there, the shell you threw will hit it and
reveal a Magic Mushroom.

Now jump over the pillar and continue right. Jump on the next red Koopa
and take it with you. Throw it at the Hammer Brother as soon as he
comes into view, and then keep going right. Stop when you get to the
flying green Koopa, hop on him twice, and pick up his shell. Then go
back to throw it at the ? block lying on the ground behind you. Now you
have a racoon tail.

Continue you right, but when you reach the next red Koopa you need to
pick up his shell and then use it to kill the Hammer Brother standing
on the following platform. Jump over the long gap and hit the ? block
to get some extra points, and also another feather just incase you lost
your last one. Then jump up right infront of the green pipe and crouch
down low to the ground. Wait for both of the fireballs to pass overhead
and then jump over it and continue going right.

Hop up onto the next Hammer Brother you see, and then go right and pick
up all of the coins in the three gaps between the large yellow blocks.
Then jump back over to the first block and, starting at the very left
edge, start running to the right and then fly up in the air as soon as
your Power Meter is full. Start pressing the "A" button to flutter to
the left and up onto the pad overhead. The white musical note blocks
will lead the way.

Your first task up here is to collect all of the coins in this first
area, but try not to destroy any of the golden bricks. Then hit the
golden brick that is second from the top, and second from the right to
reveal a Power Switch. Activate it and then get all of the coins before
they turn back into bricks.

Then run to your left, underneath the two flying red Koopas, and up to
a long line of golden bricks. Hit each one of them to get a coin from
each and every one, and then continue going left. Pick up all the coins
that float between the palm trees as you make your way to the big fish
tank. You will need a running start to fly up onto the top of it. Once
you get up there, collect all of the coins that float above it, and
then carefully enter the fish tank. Try your best to avoid the single
green fish as you go to hit the 3 golden brick that is to the left of
the entrance to the tank. Jump on the Power Switch that just popped up.
and then start collecting the coins before the timer runs out.

Finally, hop back out of the tank and go right. Run as fast as you can
until the floor comes to and end, and then you can just jump off and
fly to the finish line.

|    Stage 2 - 5    |
 ==---------------==

First jump onto the first little pillar, and from there you need to
leap over the chained up enemy and onto the next little pillar. Jump up
to the second orange rectangle from the bottom to elude the grasp of
the next chained up guy, and then jump over to the little platform made
of golden bricks. Jump on the red Koopa there and pick up his shell.
Now you need to run back over to the first chained up guy you ran into,
stand on the stack of two squares to the right of him, and throw the
red shell at him. With him out of the way you can hit the two ? blocks
and get your Magic Mushroom.

Now jump back over to where you got the first red Koopa and you will
see that another one has taken its place. How conveinant for you! So
stomp on him and pick up his shell. Now step over to the right edge
of the platform you are currently standing on, turn to face the left
and throw the shell at the block on the other side. Be sure to jump up
before it bounces back at you. Then step down into the little hole the
shell made and then bump into the bottom little brown square. Pick up
the feather that flutters out of it.

Use your racoon tail to destroy all of the remaining line of golden
bricks, because you will need the room to make enough power to fly off.
When all the bricks are gone you need to start running back and forth
right here until you get a couple of arrows in your power meter. Then
run from the left edge over to the right edge, and jump up JUST before
you fall into the pit. Fly diagnally up and to the right, and you will
eventually come to some Happy Clouds. Land on the first two, and start
jumping from one small collection of Clouds to the other. Keep going
right until the path of Happy Clouds comes to and end.

Then turn around and hop left back across the Happy Cloud path, and
then onto the orange pipe. Go down that pipe to enter a bonus room. In
this room you first need to pick up the coins, but try not to destroy
any golden bricks in the process

You will notice that the blocks are arranged similar to what I have
shown before, and the one I have marked with a letter "P" is the one
that contains the Power Switch:

Hit the one containing a Power Switch first. Then bust the one marked
with a 1 using your tail, then jump up and hit the one marked with a 2,
then break the 3 brick using your tail, and then break the 4 and b
bricks with your tail and jump onto the Power Switch. Now run and jump
to get all of the coins in the area, and then jump down the brown pipe
on the lower-right. You will exit standing on a structure floating up
in the sky.

Jump up one level of orange blocks and walk over to the four ? blocks.
Hit all four of them, and then jump up to the top of the orange block
structure. Jump off of the right edge of it, and flutter down to the
end of this stage, which is not too far to your right.

|    The Pyramid   |

Hop up onto the second level of the pyramid directly in front of you,
and go through the ornage doorway. Jump on the Buzzy Beetle that is
walking toward you, and throw his shell behind you and out of the way.
Then jump up the odd staircase and jump up over the ? block and into
the little bricked in area below it. Jump on the Buzzy Beetle down
there, and then jump quickly back out and let him break the surrounding
golden bricks. Hop down there when the coast is clear and hit the ?
block to pick up a Magic Mushroom. Slide down the hill to your right
and retrieve a Buzzy Beetle shell. Then hop up onto the second level
in the dirt cave and throw the shell at the wall of golden bricks ahead
of you. Jump up and let the ricocheting shell pass underneath you.

Walk to the right and, when the Piranah Plant goes down, hop up onto
the orange pipe. Wait there a second for the Buzzy Bettle above you to
drop down and out of the way. Then jump up and to the left, and then
up onto the next level of the cave that is above you. Walk to your
right and use the BuzZy Beetle that is coming to break down the bottom
of the next wall of golden bricks. Slide underneath it, and walk over
just to the right of the orange pipe overhead.

Walk three "Mario-lengths" over from the right wall surrounding the
pipe, and jump up to reveal a hidden block. Jump up onto that block and
then over the little wall and under the orange pipe. Jump up into the
pipe to enter a secret room.

In this room you need to first hit the block directly above you head.
Then jump up to the first level bricks and run over to the left,
collecting all the coins as you go. Then break the brick directly above
your head and jump up into the top layer. Run around up there and pick
up all of those coins. Then jump back down to the main floor. Break the
two bricks above the lone brick, and then slide under that low brick
and hit it from underneath. Then jump onto the Power Switch and start
collecting the coins before they change back. Go back down the pipe to
re-enter the main area of this stage.

You will resurface somewhere else than from where you came in. Jump to
the right and run up the steep hill. Then slowly make your way down the
corridor ahead of you. Watch out for any Buzzy Beetles that you pass
by above you, because they will drop down on you and start spinning.
Jump on the first Buzzy Beetle you run into on the ground and pick up
his shell. Carry it over to the right and throw it at the bottom brick
in the little wall ahead.

Slide underneath that wall and then jump over the orange pipe ahead.
Then run to the right and jump up the orange pipe you find at the
deadend. Then make a flying leap over the Hammer Brother and right into
the finish of this stage.

|    The Koopas' Airship    |
 ==-----------------------==

As soon as you land on the green surface of the ship, you can start
running to the right and jump onto the first gun you see. Then quickly
jump onto the gun following that as soon as it comes into view. From
there jump up onto the wooden plank just above you and to the right.
Run across it, then down onto the gun below, and then run to the right
and jump onto the gun siting directly on the ground just past the fifth
round blue window.

Stop here for a while until the gun above and to the rear of you fades
away off screen. Then jump over to the green plank of wood that you see
directly underneath the ? block. Jump up to hit the block and retrieve
the Magic Mushroom that pops out. Then jump down to the big wooden
crates and through the thin openings between them. The quickly dash to
the right and climb to the top of the next pile of 3 large crates. You
need to get up there before the guns can fire upon you.

Wait there for a couple seconds and then jump onto the wooden platform
to the right. Then jump down and run over the four round windows. Jump
on any dogs that may pop up and try to throw bones at you. Continue
going right and jump between the two guns resting on the pillars. Wait
for the grey pipe to come into view, and then hope on top of it. Slide
down the pipe to enter into the World 2 Boss Fight.

This guy is just like the Boss you ran into at the end of World 1,
except this guy will fire a shot off BEFORE you ever hit him. Also, the
room you fight him is is slightly more difficult to manuever.

Jump on him once and then quickly jump away again to avoid his spinning
shell. He will then fire off another shot from his wand. So jump over
those three little rings and pound him again. Now run to one side to
allow his shell to flip up over you and then jump away again to avoid
his crazy spinning. Let him fire one last time, and then jump over
those little magic rings and onto him to finish him off. When the magic
wand drops down, you can just go over there to pick it up, and then go
take it back down to the gracious King below. Nice Job!

|    Stage 3 - 1    |

First let yourself float down the narrow pit on the right edge of the
screen. Hit the ? block you find at the bottom and retrieve the Magic
Mushroom. Then float back up the narrow pit and out onto the upper
levels of the water. Stay low to the ground to avoid the Squid as you
head right. Start to float straight down as soon as the gray spotted
floor beneath you ends, and then float torwards the green pipe on the
ocean floor. Float past it, and then grab those coins above before the
Jellyfish Plant below you releases its red spores.

Keep floating to your right, and collect all of the coins that surround
the next Jellyfish Plant. But don't even try to get the ? blocks. Float
up when you reach the gray spotted area, and start walking across it.
Drop down the opening that directly follows that and you will find
yourself among an assortment of white musical note blocks. Catiously
continue right, and quickly float up and over the Jellyfish Plant. You
must avoid the white block directly above the plant, or else you will
be knocked directly into the deadly spores it releases. Just past it
is a bunch of coins surrounding a single golden brick. Collect all of
the coins first, and then hit the golden brick and catch the extra life
that pops out.

Float over to the green pipe and allow it to carry you upward. And once
you get up there you should move quickly to avoid the Squid, and go up
the pipe that is just above you. This pipe will drop you off just
outside the end to this stage.

|    Stage 3 - 2    |
 ==---------------==

Jump onto the first zig-zaging platform, then onto the second one, and
then onto the pink object that is directly to the left of the ? block.
Stay there until it drops off and disappears. Then jump to hit the ?
block, and jump through the hole you created and retrieve the Magic
Mushroom. Then jump onto the brown pad to your right to start it moving
down the black-line path.

The key to this stage is Star Man. It is possible to have him for the
rest of this stage, IF you can always have him when you reach the next
? block. If you hit the block invincible, another Star Man will pop
out. But if you are normal, than you will nothing.

To get the first Star Man you must bump into the brown square that is
coming up first. Retrieve it, and then jump back onto the moving pad.
Ignore the next ? block, but be sure to hit the one following that to
get your next Star Man. Collect any coins that are overhead as you
enjoy the ride, and then jump onto one of the two pink objects that are
below the ? block as soon as the track ends. Don't stand on either
block for too long as you hit it and get your next Star Man. Then jump
onto the pad on your right, and follow it all the way to the green
pipe at the end of this area. Jump onto the line of golden bricks
first, and then onto the green pipe when the Piranah Plant is gone.

Slide down the pipe, and you will resurface up over a thin brown
platform. Jump to avoid the incoming Flying Fish and make a run for the
finish line.

|    Stage 3 - 3    |
 ==---------------==

Start runing to the right and jump three platforms, but stop after
you've picked up the first six coins. Keep jumping up in the air as you
wait for the platform you are standing on to rise, and when it does you
can jump over to the next one over. Jump on the white musical not block
to discharge a Magic Mushroom and then run to the right. Jump on the
green Koopa and throw his shell into the golden brick area just past
him. About the time he clears out the first two golden bricks is when
you can hop down there and retrieve the Magic Mushroom.

Jump onto the highest golden brick there, and wait till you move up as
high as you will go. Then jump three platforms over to the right, and
stop when you are on top of a thin pillar of blue blocks. This time
wait until you are as LOW as you can get and then jump onto the red
stick as soon as it stops spinning. To time you landing correctly you
must jump while it is still actually spinning, but it will have stopped
by the time you land. Quickly jump from it over to platform up on the
right that is holding the golden and blue bricks.

Let it raise up as high as it will go, and then jump up and hit the
golden brick to reveal a Fire Flower. Jump up there to retrieve it, and
then from that high perch you need to take a second to shoot the Big
Kahuna that is swiming around below you. This will not destroy him
permanently, but it will get him out of the way for a few seconds. Then
hop back down onto the blue platform and pick up one of the blue bricks
that are to your right. Use one of them to hit the golden brick on your
left, and then jump up onto the Power Switch.

Now make a run for the end! Jump over the red Koopa and onto the line
of golden bricks. Just keep running (and jumping over any gaps you may
run into) down the line of golden bricks. When you hear that the music
is about to stop, you can then jump up into the air and leap over to
the green pipe. Go down that green pipe, jump over the little pit of
water, and then run to the finish line.

|   Koopa Castle 1   |
 ==----------------==

Start running as soon as the Stage begins and you will clear the
spinning ball. Then quickly jump on the skeleton Koopa and over the
blue block pillar. Wait for the next spinning ball to be at the bottom
of the screen, and then jump onto the light gray ball. When that
spinning ball is on your left, you can jump off of the gray ball and
onto the blue staircase. Jump up that staricase and over the gray pipe.

Up ahead is a line of three horizontal blue squares, that is directly
under "Spike The Angry Block". Jump onto the first one, and then run
underneath him while he is on his way back up to the ceiling. You will
now notice that brown doors can be seen in the background. Jump over
any skeleton Koopas you come upon and start counting the doors you pass
by. You need to enter the door that is the 5th one, which is the one
a little after the next Spike The Angry Block you run into. When you
appear on the other side of the door, you must then jump up and hit the
golden brick. And then chase after and retrieve your extra life.

Now start swimming all the way to the left side of this indoor lake.
Hit the first ? block you come to and pick up your Magic Mushroom, and
then hit the second ? block you come to and pick up your Magic Feather.
Jump up onto the platform you find on the left wall and hop up into the
green pipe. You will pop back up from the gray pipe you jumped over
earlier. When the coast is clear you can run underneath Spike and start
counting doors behind you again. Enter into the sixth door that you run
into, which is pretty far back. You will re-emerge standing on a blue
platform above the water below. Jump up into the room on the upper-left
and enter into the brown door up there. It will take you to the Boss
fight of this Koopa Castle.

The only difference between then, and the previous Castle Bosses is
that this one can fly. But if you fight him correctly, he should never
get a chance to use his wings.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Castle Stage and clear out
the barriers it was protecting.

Run straight ahead and slide down the hill to knock off the incoming
Goombas. Jump over the green pipe when the Piranah Plant is out of the
way, and then jump over the little water pit. Run up to the next green
pipe and stay still until the fireballs have passed safely overhead.
Then jump over and hit the ? block. Retrieve the Magic Mushroom and
jump over the hill. Skid down the hill to clear out the trio of green
Koopas and jump up at the bottom so you can sail over the little pond.
Slide down the next hill to clear out all enemies on it, and jump up
to hit the next two ? blocks. Stand on these and wait for the flying
Goomba to come your way. Stomp him now before he rains anymore of its
little "babies" down upon you.

Kill the red flying Goomba, and then get a running start to slide under
the two golden bricks that are very close to the ground. Hit the second
one to reveal a Power Switch, and then jump on it to activate it. Run
and jump around in this area and pick up all of the blue coins you see.
Then hit the ? block that is directly above the single brown square,
and get the Magic Feather. Hit the next two ? blocks and then continue
running to the right.

Stop when you come to a line of golden bricks, and wait around for an
"old friend" to arrive. In comes the most annoying enemy of all,
Lakiuta! We haven't seen this little guy since Stage 4-2 of Mario 1.

Anyway jump on him as soon as he arrives, and then wait a few seconds
for his little "babies" to roll off screen. Then walk underneath the
line of 6 golden bricks and hit the one that is second from the left.
Now go right and jump over all those holes in the ground. Then jump
up and hit both of the ? blocks above you. stand on there and you can
once again get rid of Kakiuta for a while.

Now just slide down the hill and run to the finish line.

|    Stage 3 - 5    |
 ==---------------==

Walk off of the edge of the green pipe and down to the sea floor. Pick
up the three coins between the two white plants and then swim over
the gray speckled object. Float up over the Big Kahuna and hit the
three ? blocks. The swim to the right and pick up the Magic Mushroom
that pops out. Swim up over the Black Electric Jellyfish and the gray
speckled wall that follows it. Walk along the seabed, picking up all
six coins, and then jump over the white plant you run into next.

Swim underneath the Electric Jellyfish and float down to the yellow
floor of the ocean. Walk along it as you collect the next 7 coins and
then let the green pipe carry you up to the yellow square with the
white plant that is near the water's surface. Float down to the right,
avoiding the Electric Jellyfish, and hit the three ? blocks. Then float
up to the top of the middle block and pick up the Fire Flower. Now swim
up and to the right, over the two gray speckled walls, and underneath
the green pipe. Fight the current caused by the green pipe and you will
hit an invisible block that is just below the bottom rim of the pipe.
You have to swim fast to catch up with it.

Then float up past the bottom Electric Jellyfish and pick up the three
coins. Then float down through the opening between the bottom two
Jellyfish, and then up over the gray speckled wall. Pick up the next
three coins, but stay up against the yellow square above your head to
avoid the Big Kahuna. Then swim past him and up into the green pipe.
When you re-surface you will see a brown pad floating in the water.
Jump onto it, and then over to the land on the right. Now make a run
for the finish line.

|    Stage 3 - 6    |
 ==---------------==

Let the screen move a little until you see a couple of small pink
pads. Jump onto the first one, and then quickly onto the second one
that is just below a ? block. Hit it, jump up to catch the Magic
Mushroom, and then jump over onto the long brown pad that is above you
and to the right. Wait there a second, until the red spinning platform
is completely within view. Jump onto the red platform just after it
begins to spin, and by the time you land it will have stopped. Then
jump over onto one of the two little pink objects further on, and then
over onto the next wooden platform that is just above you.

Now slowly start walking to the right. Let the camera just a little so
that you can always see what is in front of you. Jump on the red Koopa
and pick up his shell. Throw the shell forward when you can see more of
what is in front of you, and he will bounce down below you and start
racking up some coins for you. Jump over the little gap in the brown
platform and up to the blue brick. Pick it up, and then stand on the
little pink object. Let the object fall down, but jump onto the brown
platform near the bottom of the screen BEFORE you fall to your death.
Throw the blue brick at the golden brick on the right, and run over and
pick up your feather.

Break the golden brick above your head and jump back up onto the upper
platform. Then leap over the red flying Koopa and onto the next little
brown platform. Swipe your tail at the golden brick to get a coin, and
then jump over onto the next platform. Jump onto the Koopa and throw
his shell out of the way. Then let the screen pan to the right just a
little, and then jump down to the three blue bricks just below the
next brown platform.

Pick up one of those blue bricks and throw it at the golden brick that
is closest to your right. Hit the Power Switch you reveal, and collect
all the coins in this little area. Then jump up onto the upper platform
and then jump onto the line of golden bricks. In just a few seconds the
line will turn back into coins, but luckily you will be caught by the
pink things underneath it.

Keep hopping up and down on the pink objects so they will not fall
through, and wait until you can see both a spinning platform and a
green pipe. Jump onto that spinning platform, and then hop off of it
on the right side and steer your fall onto the green pipe. Go down
the pipe and you will re-appear on the other side and land on a small
brown platform. Jump off of that platform over to the next one on your
right, and then over to the finish line.

|    Stage 3 - 7    |
 ==---------------==

First jump up and hit the ? block above your head. Then hop down to the
ground and jump up to bump the top brown square, and then quickly jump
up again to retrieve the Magic Mushroom. Kill the little guy coming your
way, and then start running as fast as you can to the right. Ignore any
enemies that you pass overhead, and be sure to jump over the two pits
you run into. After the second pit you will find yourself inside a
small area enclosed between two brown squares. Jump on the little green
guy, and hop on the Koopa. Pick up his shell, and take it with you over
the next pit and over the green pipe.

Standing on the green pipe; throw the green shell just to the right of
the next brown square, and then jump over the the green platform just
above it. Let the shell you just threw clear out all of the enemies
down there, but be sure to jump down onto the little brown square after
it is activated and retrieve the Fire Flower.

Now turn around and go back towards the left side of the screen. Jump
over the next two little pits, and run underneath the green platform
holding the two green guys. Stand on the brown square that is directly
underneath the large mass of golden bricks. From here jump up clear a
path out so you can hit the block that is in the top line, and second
from the left. Hop down and kill any of those green guys that may try
to throw bombs at you.

Now you can start going to the right again. Jump over the first pit,
and then hop on the green Koopa and pick up his shell. Take his shell
with you over the second pit and up onto the green pipe. Then jump up
to the golden bricks up at the top of the screen. Standing on the top
brick on the left side, throw the brick to your right and you will open
up a Magic Vine. Climb to the top of the vine and start collecting the
coins. Jump from one small collection of clouds to another, until you
come to a long line of clouds. Then head back over to the right, and
climb back down the Magic Vine.

Wait for the Piranah Plant below to drop back down, and then hop onto
the green pipe. Jump up onto the green platform ahead, and then jump
onto the next green pipe as soon as it is clear. Hop onto the little
brown square that you can see on screen and kill the little green guy
with a fireball. Do the same as you make your way to the top of the
thick blue staircase. Then just jump down off of the other side and
run into the finish line.

First jump up onto the tall pillar straight ahead of you, and wait
there as the water level shifts. Then jump over onto the second blue
platform over to the right as soon as it comes into view. Hop on the
green Koopa, and then jump on his shell to start it spinning. Jump
up onto the Magic Vine as soon as it is revealed, and climb all the way
up it as the tide begins to change again. When the blue platform below
you is visible, you can jump onto the white note block and then jump
down to pick up the Magic Mushroom. Then jump two platforms over to the
right, and stand at the very top golden brick of the pillar of bricks.

Stand there and allow the water level to rise all the way up, and then
start jumping over platforms to the right. Eventually you will come to
a single golden brick sitting in the sky. Jump onto it, and then once
again let the water level change. You will need to keep jumping up when
the water level is at its highest, or else the Big Kahuna will jump up
and eat you. Just wait until the water level is at its lowest, (which
means that you are as high up as you will get), and then start jumping
over from platform to platform as you go right.

Stop for a second when you come to a tall pillar of blue blocks, that
is just before a small area that contains coins. Jump from the top of
the tall pillar, onto the ceiling of the little coin area, and start
walking right. Hop over the little wall of golden bricks, but ignore
the coins behind you and continue right. You will eventually come to
a green pipe that you can walk right into.

Start running to the right as soon as you exit the other side of the
green pipe, and make a flying leap to the finish.

|   Koopa Castle 2   |
 ==----------------==

Jump into the water over to the right and take a trip down the green
pipe. Once you come back out on the other side you need to start
swimming right, over the blue wall and then down to the floor. Walk
along the floor, right under the spinning death ball, and over to the
? block. Hit it from underneath and then chase after the Magic
Mushroom that pops out. Now swim up to the ceiling of this "fish-tank"
and pass over the death ball when it is over to the right. Then stay
at the top as you pass over the Little Kahuna, and down the green pipe
up ahead.

In this next area of the castle you will have to avoid some Ghost Bars.
Start swimming as low to the ground as possible, without going down the
pits as you float underneath the white Ghost Bar above you. Then float
up to the next one, except you will need to pass this one by staying
as close to the ceiling as you can. Then, to make it pass the next
couple of Ghost Bars you will have to swim in between them. Tap the
A button quickly to maintain the exact depth you want. Don't press it
too much or your will float up, but don't press it at all for too long
and you will sink down the the one below you. Be patient and go as slow
as you can. Then go down the green pipe that is just past them to enter
into the mini-boss fight.

The only added challenge in this fight is that there are a couple of
stone blocks overhead that can get in the way of your fighting. But
if you use the proper technique, they should not be a problem at all.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Castle Stage and clear out
the barriers it was protecting.

|    Stage 3 - 9    |

Step down to the ground and start walking to the right. Jump on the
green flying Koopa and pick up his discarded shell. You will be
carrying it for a while. Run up to the green pipe and wait for the
Piranah Plant to get out of your way. Then walk underneath the line of
golden bricks and hit the 6th one from the left. Follow it to the right
and pick it up when it falls off the other side.

Then ump over the Bob-Bomb and over the black gun sitting on the
ground. Throw the shell at the golden brick that is just past it to
make yourself a little opening. Make a running slide to skid underneath
it and over to the green pipe that is over to the far right. Hit all of
the ? blocks above your head and then go down that pipe. The pipe will
take you into a underwater secret area. Begin swimming to your left,
and over that big blue block wall. Then start swimming down, underneath
the wall of brown squares but over the green Little Kahuna.

Go down the green pipe that is past him, and then immediately start
holding right on the directional pad. This will take you onto an part
of the bonus room that you otherwise would have missed. Hit the big
? block from underneath, and pick up your Frog Suit! Then jump down to
your left and pick up the rest of the coins. Enter into the gray tube
on the right wall to exit this bonus room, and re-enter the water.

You will notice how much more control you have as you swim around in
your Frog Suit. Swim over the green Little Kahuna, and continue to your
right. Ignore the first green tube you come upon, and instead go up
into the next one. Be sure to avoid the green Little Kahunas. This
pipe will take you to the very end of this stage, so just hop over to
the finish.

Let the screen shift a little, and then jump up onto the blue pillar.
Wait up there a second and then jump down onto the Porthole Dogs as
soon as they come into view. Keep hoping on them until the Gun comes
into view above, and then quickly jump up onto it before it shoots you.
Wait a second up here for the screen to shift to the right some more,
and jump over any bones that the Porthole Dogs may throw at you. Then
jump up onto the blue platform that is just above the Double Cannon.

Then jump down underneath it, and then run under all 3 Double Cannons
as soon as they are all in view. Then jump over onto the platform just
past them, and then up to the ? block. Hit it and pick up the Magic
Mushroom. Then jump over onto the Gun that trys to fire upon you. Let
the screen pan some more to the right and you will see 4 Double Cannons
are just ahead. Let them fire off a bunch of shots, and then jump off
of those cannon balls and use the extra bounce to get up above them.
Now you can just start walking to the right.

Up ahead is a bunch of bolts sitting on a wire. Each time you jump up
off of the bolt it will start to spin and move forward. But if you
don't keep jumping you will fall through to the ground. So hop up and
down on it until it carries you over far enough that you can jump onto
the Flame Thrower you see on the far right. Stand on that gray little
stub of pipe while you wait for the screen to reveal somemore of the
ship to you.

Then jump up onto the blue pillar that extends to the very top of the
screen, and then jump over the 3 Porthole Dogs and onto the platform
that is just past them. Now you can just jump up the steps and go down
the shiny gray pipe.

This is you third fight up against one of Bowser's minions. This lady
can hurt you one of two ways: either by shooting you with her magic
wand or by you accidently landing on her spiked back.

Jump on her once and then quickly jump away again to avoid his spinning
shell. She will then fire off a shot from his wand. So jump over that
big ring and make sure you avoid it for the rest of the fight. They
won't fade away after a while; they're here to stay for your entire
fight with her. Now run to one side to allow her shell to flip up over
you and then jump away again to avoid her crazy spinning. Let her fire
one last time, and then jump over that last magic ring and right back
down onto her to finish her off. When the magic wand drops down, you
can just go over there to pick it up, and then go take it back down to
the gracious King below. Nice Job!

Jump over that first huge green pipe, and then jump over the second one
when the big Piranah Plant is down. Jump up and hit the huge ? block
above your head, and then jump up onto the platform that is holding the
great big red Koopa. Hop on him and throw his shell down to the right
and it will break the huge golden brick. Jump down to the right and hit
the big ? block from underneath. Then jump up to catch the Magic
Mushroom before it falls down the pit on the right.

Pick up the three coins as you jump up from the ground and over the
next little green pipe. Continue right and avoid the big green flying
Koopa, and then swim through the waterfall that is in between the four
green pipes. Jump over the pillar of three golden bricks that is on the
other side, and hop on that great big Goomba. Then jump up to the small
golden brick that is under the large ? block and hit that block from
underneath. Try to avoid hitting the green flying Koopa as you retrieve
the magic feather.

Jump through the hole in the wall of big golden bricks that is to your
right, and then jump up onto the next green pipe. Step over to the
right edge of that pipe and you will be able to see wherre you're going
next. Jump over to the huge Smile Cloud, and then onto the pair that
are just past it. Jump on the big red Koopa and throw it at the big
? block that you can see on the right. Then hop on the next red Koopa,
and then over onto the ? block. From there jump up onto the big green
pipe you see on the right and wait up there for just a second.

Wait for the Piranah Plant to be clear and then you can hop down onto
the green pipe you see on the platform below you and to the right. Jump
over the green Koopa and run into the green pipe that leads into the
right wall. When you pop up on the other side you can just make a run
for the finish line.

|    Stage 4 - 2    |
 ==---------------==

Immediately jump over onto the huge green pipe, and wait there for just
a second. Then jump over to the next pipe over when the water level is
very low and hop on the big red Koopa. Throw his shell off to the left,
and then jump on the Koopa that is over on the next pipe. Pick up his
shell and throw it at the big Piranah Plant. Then jump onto the pipe
that the Piranah Plant was in and wait there for the water to go back
down again.

Next jump onto the green pipe that is covered in blue bricks. Pick one
of these up and throw it down at the big ? block. Jump down there
quickly so you can catch your Magic Mushroom, and then wait a second
for the next Piranah Plant to go down. Then run over to the right edge
of this blue platform and wait for the water level to go back down.
When it is back down again you can jump over onto the next green pipe,
and then up onto the pillar of golden bricks. Ignore the Power Switch
and just jump over it; it will be more trouble than it's worth anyway.

So once again let the water level go all the way down, and jump up onto
the line of golden bricks that you see on the right. Jump over the big
Piranah Plant and onto the next line of four golden bricks. Then over
the next green pipe, and onto the next platform of golden bricks. Now
jump up onto the big Smile Cloud that is above you, and then jump all
the way to the right and you will land on a stack of blocks. Run across
the line of brown squares and jump over onto the green pipe. Let the
water level drop back down and then step down right in front of the
pipe and walk right to enter into it.

You will come back out on the other side right near the end. So just
start running right and you'll all done here.

|    Stage 4 - 3    |

First start running to the right and jump up as soon as have a full
Power Meter. Drop down when you are on the other side of the little
stack of three golden bricks, and then start running again and leap
over the next big Hammer Brother. Jump up onto the green pipe and go
down the one that points straight down. This pipe will take you down to
an underground level of this stage.

Once you get down there you can start walking to the right. Jump on the
first Buzzy Beetle you run into and throw his shell to the right. Be
sure to avoid the Beetle overhead as you continue right, and then jump
onto the next one you run into and pick up his shell. Take that shell
with you as you run and jump up to the platform on the right and throw
it at the Buzzy Beetle pacing around underneath the four ? blocks. Jump
up to hit all four of them, and then get a running start to jump over
onto the next platform on the right.

Jump over the Buzzy Beetle when he tries to drop down on you, and then
jump over to the next platform on the lower right. On this platform you
can jump up to hit the ? block and then jump onto in from the left side
to retrieve the Magic Mushroom. Then jump onto the next platform on the
right and jump over the Spiney Beetle when it tries to drop on you. Hop
on the Buzzy Beetle, pick up his shell, and take it with you to the
right. Wait for the flying red Koopa to be all the way at the bottom of
the screen, and then knock him out of the sky using the Beetle shell.
Then get a good running start and jump over to the right. You'll land
on another light brown formation.

Walk up to the top of the steep hill, and then jump over the Spiney
Beetle when he comes down flying at you. Stand at the top of this
platform and get a running start down the right hill and jump far over
onto the next large brown landing. Stand there for a moment and let the
Buzzy Beetles come up to you, but be sure to jump on them and knock
their shells out of the way. Now you can continue walking to the right
and jump up onto the little brown squares that are under the golden
bricks. Hit the golden brick that is on the left, and then hop back
down and start running to the right. Avoid the Spiney Beetles overhead
and jump up onto the line of golden bricks at the end to catch your
extra life.

Then jump over to the small platform up and to the right, and then up
to the platform following that. Try to avoid hitting the top brown
square when you jump over there because it can knock you back down.
Jump up onto it, and then over to the next brown square that is just
higher than this one and on the right. make sure you run up to the top
and don't accidently slide off. Finally jump over to the last brown
platform to your right and jump up into the orange pipe. You will come
up on the other side with the ending clearly in your sight.

Run and jump up over the blue staircase ahead, and keep running across
the blue block floor. You will drop down just in time to avoid the
Angry Spike Block. Continue running right until you come to another
Angry Spike Block. Wait for it to slide over to the left and then jump
up and to the right, over its path back. Then step down to the line of
gray pipes and go down the middle one. Follow the Skeleton Koopa down
to the ground below and then squash him, as well as they next one you
run into.

Then continue right and hit the ? blocks. The one on the right contains
a Magic Mushroom which you will have to jump up to catch. Now run over
to the right, but turn around when you reach the wall so that the Boo
can't get you. He can't attack you if you are facing him. Up above you
will notice that the ceiling comes to an end. Walk over to just after
the point where the ceiling stops and jump up to reveal a hidden block.
Jump up there onto it, but then quicklu turn back to the left to halt
that Boo in his traps. Then jump up and hit the hidden block that is
above and just to the right of the one you are on now.

Quickly jump up to that block and start running to the right. Slide up
the green pipe you find up there, and you will be transported just
outside of the mini-boss fight. So just run to the right to enter into
the battle.

Similar to the castle boss in World 3, there's a small platform made of
stone blocks overhead that can get in the way of your fighting. But if
you use the proper technique, it should not pose a problem at all.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this

the barriers it was holding up to block your progress.

The key to this level is a more passive approach than you usually use.
First you can swim up to the surface of the water, and hop up onto the
Lakitu that is flying around up there. He won't be permanently killed,
but it will get him out of the way for just a while.

Now swim down all the way to the bottom until you are caught by the
green pipe emmiting a jet of water. Then you can start to the right and
swim up to hit the ? block. You have to be quick to catch the Magic
Mushroom that pops out. So swim over the wall of big brown blocks and
head down, but go right when you come to the hole in the ocean floor.
Continue right and over the large pink plant and small green pipe. Swim
over the next pit and then start walking along the ocean floor on the
other side. About now is when the Lakitu will make his return and once
again start dropping his little babies down upon you. They are pretty
easy to avoid, but watch out for them just the same.

So continue onward as you fly around the red Spiny Beetles and over any
pits you may come across. Remember it is best to stay as low as to the
sea floor as possible, all the way until you come to a staircase made
up of those big brown blocks. Then you can start swimming up it and
enter into the green pipe at the top. Hurry up because you are very
vulnerable up here to the Spiny Beetles that are droping down.

When you pop up on the other side you can just run right into the end.

|    Stage 4 - 5    |
 ==---------------==

Run and jump over the small pit directly in front of you, and up to the
second block of the pyramid. Wait there for a green flying Koopa to fly
over your head, and then jump up to the top. Jump down the other side
and hop on the next green flying Koopa. Then pick up his shell and walk
over to the very edge of the pink ground, just before the small pit,
and throw the shell at the large golden brick. Jump up to avoid the
shell and then run left and hit the big ? block from underneath. Hop up
on top of it and get your Magic Mushroom.

Now wait for the huge red Piranah Plant to slide back down his pipe,
and then jump onto it. Then jump up onto the big Smile Cloud that is
above you and on the right. Then jump down to the right and land on the
Gun that fires Bullet Bill. Then step off of it to the right and crouch
down to avoid the gun fire over your head. Walk to right underneath the
middle ? block and jump up to hit it when the Bullet Bills aren't in
your path. Then jump up onto the tall Gun on the right and up on top of
the line of ? blocks to retrieve your Fire Flower.

Jump over to the next line of ? blocks on the right, and then down onto
the tall Gun. Step over to the right edge of the gun so you can get a
better look at what is on the far right. Then jump over to the short
Gun that is sitting on the platform of two brown blocks. From here you
can jump up to shoot the Piranah Plant with a fireball, and then jump
over onto the green pipe. next jump over onto the small platform of
two brown blocks that is between this, and the next pipe, and crouch
down low to avoid the Bullet Bills overhead.

When the coast is clear you can jump up onto the small green pipe on
the right, and then onto the second Gun you see. Standing on this Gun
you can jump straight up and hit the block above your head. Now wait
for one of those red flashing Bullet Bills to be over head, and jump
off of it and up onto the block you just hit overhead. Climb up the
Magic Vine and step onto the large Smile Cloud you find up there. Then
jump up into the green pipe to enter into a bonus room.

Jump over onto the line of golden bricks and jump up to hit the huge ?
block that is over your head. Then jump up to the right and collect
your fancy new Tanooki Suit! Now jump on the Power Switch and then go
back down the black pipe, which will take you back to the Smile Cloud.
Now jump off to the right and press A to float down to the right as you
collect the blue coins and land on the large green pipe. Then jump over
the very tall Gun and go through the green pipe that leads into the
right wall. And when you end up on the other side you can just run over
to the finish on the right.

|    Stage 4 - 6    |
 ==---------------==

Jump on the first green flying Koopa you run into, and then pick up his
shell and throw it at the next Koopa. Collect the six coins as you jump
over the large pit and right in front of the green pipe. Wait for the
Piranah Plant to disappear down the pipe and then hop over it and onto
the large pink square. From here you must make a decision. You can
either enter into the doorway below which will turn all of the jumbo
sized characters back to normal size, or you can remain in the big
world and just continue. It doesn't really matter which way you go, so
you can do whatever you want.

Anyway jump up onto the bigger, blue square and then jump over onto the
green pipe that is on the other side of the tiny pit in the ground. Hit
the ? block and then jump up to collect your Magic Mushroom. Continue
right and run underneath the green flying Koopa when it jumps up high.
Then run and stop when you come to the four brown squares. Kill the
Goomba that drops down from the line of Golden Bricks, and then jump up
and bump into the second square from the bottom. Now jump up onto the
line of golden bricks and pick up your Star Man on the other side.

Now run through the enemies as you jump up onto the green pipe, and
then down between the two pipes. Stand just to the left of the small
green bush that you see in the background and jump up to reveal a
hidden block. Now just stay where you are and let the extra life fall
down to you. Then jump up onto the next green pipe and up onto the big
pink swaure that is on the other side of the pit. Step down from it and
walk over to the next green pipe. Wait at the bottom for the Piranah
Plant to slide back down its pipe, and then jump up onto it and then
over onto the line of golden bricks. Hop up off of the red Koopa and
kill the green Koopa before he drops down on you. Walk along this upper
platform and jump onver onto the next one. Run underneath the flying
green Koopa, then step down to the next lower platform, and then down
to the pink ground.

Stay low to avoid the final green flying Koopa as you run to the finish
line of this stage.

Jump up the stone staircase and walk out to the edge of this gray
platform. Jump over onto one of the dark brown objects out on the
right, then quickly up to the next platform above you, and then down to
the next long platform underneath the ? block. Hit it and jump up on
top of it to retrieve your Magic Mushroom. Then keep running as you
jump from brown platform to brown platform until you reach the gray
stone blocks again on the other side. Hop on the Skeleton Koopa and,
down the staircase ahead on the right. Wait there at the bottom for the
next Skeleton Koopa to arrive near you and jump on him. Then continue
to the right and hop on the next Skeleton Koopa.

You will then come upon a single golden brick. Jump up to hit it and
you will reveal a Power Switch. Now you must let a couple more Skeleton
Koopas fall down from above, and then jump off of them and onto the
Power Switch to reveal a few blue coins. Pick those up and then jump
back up onto the block, and then up onto the platform of gray stone
blocks above. Stand on the red pipe and wait for the Spinning Ball to
be out of your way. Then jump onto the red ball and wait once again for
the Spinning Ball to move and then run over to the right. On the other
side of the platform you will arrive at the mini-boss fight for this
castle.

Similar to the castle boss in World 3, there's a small collection of

Stand at the beginning for just a few seconds to let the screen pan a
little to the right. Then jump onto the FlameThrower as soon as it
comes into view and once again start waiting for more screen to be
revealed. Hit the three coins as you jump down onto the next
FlameThrower, and then up to the wooden platform above the 8 coins. You
need to use the blue line of bolts to make your way across the cable
and safely over the flames below. You need to jump up and down on it
to make it slide across the screen, but you can't stop jumping on it or
else you will slide down. You need to carry it to at least over the
middle FlameThrower, and then you should be able to jump over to the
wooden platform at the ned of the black cable.

Now let the screen pan a little more, and then jump on that Porthole
Dog that pops his little head up. Then go right and hit the ? block to
get a Magic Mushroom. Let the screen continue to pan right and walk
over to the edge of that wooden platform. Jump over onto that gray
FlameThrower and stand there while the screen pans right. Wait for
the FlameThrower you are now standing on to extinguish, and then use
that platform to get a running start to jump up onto the platform that
is up high and on the far right.

Jump down to the FlameThrower below you, and then down to the wooden
platform below that. Let the screen pan a little, and wait for the
FlameThrower on the bottom of the screen to go out. Then jump over it
and walk past it. Wait for the FlameThrower above you to go out and
then you can jump up to the second step from the bottom. Wait there for
the next to FlameThrowers to go out, and then jump up to the top of the
staircase. Jump over the pipe and hit the ? block that is on the other
side and get the Magic Feather. Then jump down the gray pipe to enter
into another battle with a Koopa cousin.

This guy is exactly like the Boss you ran into at the end of World 2.

Jump on him once and then quickly jump away again to avoid his spinning
shell. He will then fire off another shot from his wand. So jump over
those three little rings and pound him again. Now run to one side to
allow his shell to flip up over you and then jump away again to avoid
his crazy spinning. Let him fire one last time, and then jump over
those little magic rings and onto him to finish him off. When the magic
wand drops down, you can just go over there to pick it up, and then go
take it back down to the gracious King below. Nice Job!

Stand right where you are for just a second, and then jump over the
enemy when he runs at you. Jump up onto the line of 3 golden bricks
that are up off of the ground, and run into the little brown square to
reveal a Magic Mushroom. Jump up on top of that square to pick it up.
Now take a look ahead. You will see a chained up Bow Wow trying to snap
out and get you, but his chain prevents him from reaching you. Now jump
over onto the top layer of blue blocks that is above him, and again you
will be out of his reach. Stand here for a moment and you'll see
another Bow Wow how can almost reach you. So jump over him, and then
quickly jump up and stand on the single golden brick.

Next walk right 2 blocks and drop down to the pillar of blue blocks
that keeps you just out of reach of the next Bow Wow. Wait for him
to stretch out to chain's length and then jump over him, and then
quickly run as far right as you can. Jump up onto the blue block up
above, and then jump up to hit the ? block. Hop up onto that block, and
from there you can jump over the next White Snapper and get the three
coins. Walk up to the next White Snapper and make a high jump to clear
him as well. Then jump up and to the left, back over the previous one,
and get those three coins. Then jump over this one again and approach
the next Snapper.

Jump up and over this next Snapper and walk out onto the third golden
brick you come upon. Let the chained up Bow Wow reach out the length
of his chain and then jump over him and run down below the ? blocks.
Jump up to hit all of them, but save the one that is third from the
right for last. Then hit that last one and jump up there to get your
Star Man. No jump up to the right and kill that next Bow Wow. Then drop
down to the right and run straight ahead and clear out the line of 3
White Snappers. Finally jump up and get that flying Goomba.

Collect the six coins up above your head. Then jump over the pillar
of golden bricks and run over to the finish.

|    Stage 5 - 2    |

Run up the steep little snow-covered hill and go down the green pipe.
Now just allow yourself to drop straight down until you reach a white
note block. Then bounce off from that block, down onto the next one
that is down and to the right, and then up onto the golden brick. From
there jump down to the 2 golden bricks on the right, and then up to the
3 golden bricks just above that. Next jump up onto the path of 3 golden
bricks that are up on the left, and wait there on that top brick for a
moment. Eventually a couple of green Koopas will drop down into the
bricked in area on your right.

Hop up onto the brick that is closest to you, and then down onto one of
those Koopas. Then kick his shell in the direction of the other Koopa
and jump up to avoid it bouncing back and striking you. Let the shell
fly off out of sight and then jump up into the green pipe above your
head. From there jump up onto the top of the snow hill on your left and
slide down the slope on the other side, knocking off the Goomba as you
go. Jump up when you reach the end and sail over to the next slope,
and you will clear out another set of Goombas.

This slope has lead you to a small green pipe. Ingore this one and
instead go up the very steep slope up on the right. Walk across the
snow and drop down onto another green pipe. However ignore this one as
well and instead jump up onto the ? blocks floating in the air. Stay
there until the green flying Koopa is out of your way. Then hop on that
Koopa a couple times and pick up his shell Throw it to the left while
standing on the 3 ? blocks to let it hit the block on the ground. Now
drop down and hit the three blocks above your head, and then continue
right.

All the way right you will find a long green pipe leading up into the
sky. Jump up into it and it will take you just outside the finish line
of this stage.

|    Stage 5 - 3    |
 ==---------------==

Okay first jump down the green pipe right in front of you. You will
then drop down onto the main portion of this stage. To your right is a
walll so you must go left. Jump up onto the green pipe and just wait
there a second for the Spiny Beetle to get out of your way. Then drop
down and hit the ? block. Stand next to the pipe on the right and let
the Magic Mushroon come down to you, and then hop up onto the golden
bricks before the Spiny Beetle comes back and gets you. Wait for the
Piranah Plant to slide down the next pipe, and then jump over that pipe
and down underneath the three golden bricks just past him. Wait for
a Goomba sporting a big green boot to jump on the block above your
head, and then jump up and break that brick to knock him out of his big
shoe. Now you jump into that shoe, which will protect you from both
enemies and dangerous objects.

So hop over the green pipe on your left and continue onward. With this
boot you can hop on any enemy you want, so just jump on the Spiny
Beetles as you pass them. Then jump over the next short little pipe and
wait underneath the line of golden bricks. Eventually another green
boot Goomba will drop down on the brick above you. Jump up to knock him
away and pick up his boot just for the extra points. Start jumping up
to hit the bricks above you. Some will just break, but others will give
you a few more coins.

Continue bouncing to the left and jump over the next green pipe you
come to. Jump on the Bob-Bomb, as well as the Spiny Beetles, as you
make your way to the next pipe. Now you will see that between this and
the next green pipe are a bunch of Black Chompers. Lucky for you
however, the boot you are in can protect your from their deadly mouths.
So just walk along their surface and pick up the coins. Then jump up to
hit the 2nd block from the left and let the extra life fall down to
you. Now jump over the next few pipes and go down the last one you come
to, which will take you into the next section of this stage.

Once you land down there you can jump over the "cage" golding the green
boot Goomba and jump on the Piranah Plant coming out of the pipe just
past him. Next hop across the Black Chompers and be careful not to fall
down the narrow pit. Bounce yourself over to the next green pipe and
wait for the Piranah Plant to go down. Then jump over that pipe and
pick up all of the coins as you make your way across the next set of
Black Chompers and over the next green pipe. Jump up to hit the 3 ?
blocks and retrieve the Magic Feather that pops out of the middle one.
Jump up onto the 3 blocks and then up onto the tall green pipe.

Now start jumping from pipe to pipe until you finally reach a long
green pipe leading into a wall of blue blocks on the right. Enter into
that pipe and you will be transported right next to the finish line of
this stage.

|    Koopa Castle 1    |
 ==------------------==

First hop down to the bottom step of the staircase, and then jump over
the lava pit just after the fireball drops down out of your way. Walk
over to the 5th gray stone block down below you and wait there for the
Angry Spike Block to slam down. Then walk underneath it and continue
right all the way until you come to the next stone staircase. Wait for
the spinning ball to be behind you and then jump up onto the 3rd step
from the bottom. Wait a couple more seconds and then jump up to the top
as soon as this next spinning ball is out of your way. Continue walking
to the right, but stop just underneath the first golden brick above.

Wait for the Angry Stone Block to drop down, and then jump up to hit
the golden brick above your head and run forward to catch the Magic
Mushroom. But don't run too far or else you'll be in the path of
another pair of spinning balls. Now wait for the Angry Stone Block to
pound the ground again, and then run back under it going left. Run back
over to the staircase and down to the 2nd step from the top. Wait right
there for the spinning ball below you and to the left to be out of
your way, and then run down to the bottom and stop underneath the line
of 4 golden bricks.

Up above you, you can see a break in the gray stone block ceiling. Jump
up and hit the 2nd golden brick from the left, and then jump onto the
golden brick that is 2nd from the right. Now hop up onto the platform
on on the right and break the two golden bricks above your head. Now
get a running start to jump up and hit the ? block on the right. Fall
down and land on the golden brick below you and let the Magic Feather
flutter down to you. Then drop back down to the main floor of this
stage and break the golden brick you were just standing on.

Now this next part is a little tricky. You first need to walk over to
the left and stop when you reach the edge over looking the lava pit.
You will need to duck down as you stand here in order to avoid the
spinning ball. Then slowly walk over to Angry Spike Block and let him
drop down. Then take a few steps back and start running under him and
all the way to the right until you Power Meter is full. Then start
flying up the hole between the 2 remaining golden bricks and all the
way up to the red pipe at the very top. This may take a few tries in
order to get it just right, but it will eventually work. Go down that
red pipe to enter into a secret bonus room.

Jump around to pick up all of the coins forming the arrow in the middle
of this room, and then go down the gray pipe over to the right. Turn to
face the right as soon as you drop back down in order to freeze the
incoming Boo in his tracks. Now wait for the spinning ball to be as low
to the ground as it gets and then jump up and flutter onto the red ball
that is on top of the pillar of gray stone blocks. Turn back towards
the left to once again halt that Boo, and then run right when the Angry
Spike Block is one his way back up.

Continue right and stop when you come to the next Angry Spike Block.
Stand as close to the to the pile of gray blocks surronding the red
circle as you can get in order to avoid the spinning ball. Then turn
back to face the left so that Boo won't get too close. Wait for that
Angry Spike Block above you to pound down and then jump underneath him
on his way back up. Use your tail to flutter safely across the lava pit
just ahead and walk to the very edge of the next platform.

Jump over in the direction of the Angry Spike Block, but then make sure
you land back on the platform you started on. Now wait for the Angry
Stone Block to pound the ground and slide back up, and then you can
jump onto the platform he just pounded and then quickly onto the one
just past it. Hop up the little staircase and enter into the brown door
that is at the top to enter into the mini-boss fight of this castle.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Castle Stage and create a
bridge that you can use to access this area of the map should you ever
run out of lives.

|    The Spiral Palace    |
 ==---------------------==

First jump up onto the platform of blue blocks and go right. Run over
past the first spinning ball and jump up onto the gray circle on top
of the pillar of blue blocks. You will be safe from the spinning balls
up here. Next you can wait for the two spinning balls to move out of
your way and jump down underneath the ? block. Quickly jump up to hit
it and then up on top of it to get the Magic Mushroom. Then jump down
to the right just after the next spinning ball is all the way down. Now
jump up into the gray pipe to enter into the upper floor of this
palace.

Now walk to the left and wait for the Angry Spike Block to pound the
ground. Then jump under him and continue running left, over the little
bump in the path, and up to the next Angry Spike Block. Wait for this
one to pound the ground and then jump underneath him while he is on his
way back up. Run past him and up the staircase that is just beyond him.
You will resurface up at the top of the palace, which is made up of
golden bricks. Jump over to the second of the tower of this roor and
jump on the third golden brick on the top row to kill the hidden enemy.
Then jump over to the next tower and once again kill the enemy in the
third brick. Then run left and jump up into the green pipe that leads
back into the palace main floor.

When you get down there you can slowly approach the Angry Spike Block
and let him drop. Then run under him on his way back up and jump down
onto the LOWER platform of blue blocks. Run underneath the spinning
ball and over the pit of spikes. Go up the gray tube that is on the
other side of those spikes to go up into an upper room of this palace.
Up there you need just jump up the short staircase of blue blocks that
is to your left and up the next gray pipe.

When you pop up from the blue pipe you will once again find yourself up
on the roof of the palace. Jump down to the right and walk over to the
edge of the golden bricks. Jump on the red Koopa walking around on the
platform of clouds and just kick his shell out of the way. Jump up to
hit the golden brick above your head to reveal a blue Magic Vine. Climb
up that vine and hop up onto the small cloud platform to your right.
Then jump up off of that cloud and onto the longer cloud just above it.
Jump up into the blue pipe to be magically transported to the 2nd half
of this world.

See, that's why they call it a Magic Vine!

|    Stage 5 - 4    |
 ==---------------==

First walk towards the right edge of this thin cloud and jump up to hit
the ? block. Pick up the Magic Mushroom and then run back to the left.
From there you can start running to the right and leap over the
spinning red platform and onto the cloud just beyond it. Then make a
flying leap off of this platform and onto the cloud that is just to the
right of the next spinning red platform. Walk to the right edge of this
cloud and jump up onto the red platform that lies still above you. But
then quickly jump onto the next spinning red platform when it pauses
for just a second. Now, before it starts back up again, jump over onto
the next still platform that is below you and on the right. This will
start to lead over just like the first one did, so you must quickly
jump down onto the cloud you can just barely see over on the lower
right.

From the left edge of this cloud you can start running and then leap
over the spinning red platform and up onto the three brown blocks.
Jump over the waterfall and onto the next three brown blocks. Then up
onto the three above your head, and then over the next waterfall. Jump
over to the right edge, then bounce off of the red flying Koopa and
onto the spinning platform when it pauses for a moment. Then quickly
over onto the platform below and then onto the next spinning red stick
when it comes to a temporary halt.

Hop up onto the cloud that is over on the right and duck down to avoid
the green flying Koopa. Now run into the green pipe that leads off
screen. Start running to the right as soon as you exit the pipe because
you want to reach the finish before the Lakitu above starts dropping
Spiny Brothers down on you.

|    Stage 5 - 5    |
 ==---------------==

You will first notice that the floor is made up of those pink objects
that fall down when you stand on them too long. So first jump straight
over onto the brown block down on the right. Then run to the right, hop
up off of the green flying Koopa and onto the next brown block. Then
continue running right but jump up onto the stack of three brown blocks
as soon as you can. Then jump over onto the golden bricks covering the
green pipe, and then over onto the next set of them. Next jump over
onto the next stack of three brown blocks and jump down onto the green
flying koopa.

Now be as quick as you can in running down to the right and jumping up
to hit all of the ? blocks. Collect the Magic Mushroom from the first
block and then jump back up onto the stack of brown blocks on the left.
Jump over those green pipes and all the way back to the first stack
of brown blocks. Bump into the top block and pick up the Magic Feather.
Then jump over to the right and use your tail to break the golden
bricks set up over the 2nd green pipe. Head down that pipe to enter
into a secret room of this stage.

Fall straight down to collect all of the coins, and then run over and
hit that huge ? block in the middle of this room. Be sure to catch you
new Tanooki Suit! Now jump up the gray pipe on the right wall to
re-enter the main area of this stage. Jump over onto the brown block at
the bottom of the screen as soon as you re-exit the pipe. Then walk
directly underneath the two golden bricks and break them. Then jump up
into the little "cage" and hit the three bricks. The one on the left
will get you a coin, and the one on the right will get you a Magic
Feather. But DON'T pick up the feather unless you want to lose your
Tanooki Suit!!!

Wait up on top of this "cage" until the Piranah Plant on the right is
gone, and then jump down to the right and start running. Jump over the
brown blocks and avoid the floating Goombas as you make a run for the
finish.

|    Stage 5 - 6    |
 ==---------------==

First run to the right and jump up onto the stack of brown blocks. Now
wait here for a little red guy to come flying in. Jump up onto him and
he will start to rise upward as he carries you. Jump from red guy to
red guy until you reach a ? block below you. Then jump down there and
hit it to get a Magic Mushroom. Then jump over the red flying Koopa and
bounce off of the white musical not block onto the two brown blocks
above and to the right. Let the screen pan a little more and then pick
up as many coins overhead as you can when you jump off of the white
musical note block and onto the next two brown squares.

Jump over onto the line of golden bricks, and then jump up onto each
vertical stack of golden bricks that leads you up to the top of the
screen. Then jump off of the last one and down onto the line of four
golden bricks below. Pick up the coins here and then jump over to the
brown blocks on the right. Then let the screen pan a little more and
jump over to the cloud holding up the green pipe. Enter into that pipe
and you will come back out the other side right next to the finish.

|    Stage 5 - 7    |
 ==---------------==

Begin by running to the right, jumping up over the green Koopa and onto
the first stack of golden bricks. Then onto the next stack, and then up
onto the next stack. Next jump down and hit those three ? blocks, and
then run over and stand right up against the next stack of golden
bricks. Let the hidden enemy jump over you and jump up to bump the
brown block to reveal a Magic Mushroom. Pick that up and then go right
and hit the next three ? blocks. Jump up onto the structure of golden
bricks and let the first two enemies leap over you. Then jump on the
third one in the line and drop down just to the right of the green pipe
you see below you.

Hit the three ? blocks to the right and left of that pipe and then go
down it when that Piranah Plant is out of your way. You will exit that
pipe high up in the air and drop down onto a completely different
looking area. So now jump up onto the large pink square and then
continue heading to the right. Pick up the coins floating in the air as
you jump over the stacks of brown blocks. Bump into the top block of
the last stack and jump up to get your Magic Feather.

Then turn back around and head to the left, all the way back to where
you landed when you fell out of the pipe. Jump on the red Koopa and
throw his shell out of your way. Then start from the far left edge of
the screen and begin running to the right. Jump up as soon as your
Power Meter is full and fly up to the huge collection of golden bricks
below. You need to hit the lowest brick that is in the 5th line of
bricks from the left. Then fly back up there and destroy the line of
bricks that is just to the left of the Power Switch you just opened up
and land on the switch to set it off.

Now hurry up and collect a few of the coins that are directly above you
to clear a path all the way to the very top of this stage. Then let the
Power Switch timer run out and allow all the other coins to turn bakc
into blocks. Now jump up onto those blocks and start running over to
the right. Jump off of the edge and fly over the green pipe and onto
the gigantic wall of blue blocks. Then walk across the top of this wall
(you will be off screen now) and drop down onto the other side.

Now just run to the right, because you just took a short-cut that lead
you straight to the finish!

|    Koopa Castle 2    |
 ==------------------==

Carefully jump over onto the lone gray block, and then over onto the
red pipe and go down it. When you drop down on the other side you must
then immediately jump over the lava below and onto the next gray
platform. Walk to the right edge and wait there for the two fire balls
to pop up and then drop back down. Then jump over to the next platform
and wait there. This next fireball is going to drop down from the
ceiling and then raise back up. Don't try to jump over it, but instead
wait for it to disappear into the ceiling and then jump onto the next
gray platfrom. Do the same for the next fireball and jump down onto the
next platform, which is much longer.

Wait at the beginning of this platform for the fireball to come up from
underneath, and then jump up onto the line of ? blocks when it has gone
back down into the lava. Wait for the skeleton Koopa to pass by under
you and then hop down and hit all of the ? blocks. Pick up the Star Man
that pops out of the last ? block and then start jumping platforms over
to the right since you are invincible for a while. Stop when you come
to the Boo, because by then the Star Man's power has just about run out
on you.

Turn to face that Boo so that he won't head towards you, and then jump
over onto the next tiny platform to the right as soon as the firball
from underneath is gone. Turn over to the left as soon as you land so
that the Boo will stop following you, and then jump over to the next
platform as soon as it is all clear. Then jump over onto that next
platform and wait there a moment. Face the left to stop the Boo from
getting you and wait for the fireball dropping down from underneath to
go back up. Then quickly jump over onto the next platform and hit those
two ? blocks. Pick up the Magic Mushroom that pops out and then walk
out to the right edge of this platform.

Wait for the next fireball to go back down into the lava below and then
leap over this large gap and out onto the next platform. There is a
fireball popping about halfway between you and that Boo up ahead, so
wait for it to drop back down before you start walking to the right.
Then run underneath that Boo and turn to face the left when you are
directly to the left of that fireball shooting up. Then run straight to
the right and you will both avoid the fireballs and elude that Boo. You
need to then face to the left when you are standing directly underneath
the red pipe, and then jump up into it. When you come back up on the
other side you must jump over the lava pit on the right and then go
into the mini-boss battle for this castle.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Castle Stage and clear out
that barrier, which will allow you to go straight to stage 8 should you
ever run out of lives and have to start over.

|    Stage 5 - 8    |
 ==---------------==

First get a running start and jump up to the cloud on the upper right.
Hit the four ? blocks and pick up the Magic Mushroom that comes out of
the one that is 2nd from the right. Next jump down to the cloud far
below you and to the right, and then make a blind leap over to the
cloud that is there on the far right. Just when you land a Lakitu will
appear overhead and make it clear he plans to bother you for the rest
of this stage. Now you can start jumping to the right from cloud to
cloud as you work to avoid his Spiny Brothers. You must avoid them both
while they are still eggs in the air, as well as after they have
hatched and begin walking around on the clouds.

Eventually you will pass by a small cloud up high in the sky that is
directly underneath a ? block. You can jump on the red flying Koopa
that is near the cloud to the right of that, and jump off of him and
onto the cloud up there. Then hit that block and get the Fire Flower.
Now jump up onto that block and shoot the Lakitu. You won't kill him
for good, but you will get rid of him for a little while.

Now jump down jump back down to that cloud you were just on, and then
up onto the cloud on the upper right. Then jump up onto the long cloud
and about then the Lakitu will make his way back to you. Jump on him
again, and then jump over the red flying Koopa. Run past him and enter
into the green pipe that leads off screen somewhere. Start running to
the right as soon as you drop back out of the pipe and you will make it
to the finish line of this stage.

|    Stage 5 - 9    |
 ==---------------==

Welcome to my #1 most hated stage of this entire game! This place is
annoyingly hard, so you really should bring a power-up of some kind in
here. A Magic Feather or a Tannoki suit would work the best, but a
Magic Mushroom or a Fire Flower will at least allow you to take a few
extra hits from the bad guys.

First jump over the red flying Koopa and onto the small cloud. Then hop
on the brown pad when it comes into view and wait there a couple of
seconds. Then you will see a line of these pads is leading upward. Jump
up them like a staircase leading up and to the right, and evertually
you'll come to the last one. Then one will come sliding in from the
right, so jump up onto that one. Then you see another pad up above you.
Wait for the pad you are on to take you ALMOST off screen and then jump
up to the left but pull yourslef back over to the right when you get up
above the next brown pad to land safely on it.

Wait on that one for a flying Bow-Wow to fly up from underneath and
then jump up over him and onto the platform just past him on the right.
Then you will once again start jumping from pad to pad as they lead
you up and to the right. You can kill the flying Bow-Wow with a
fireball if you came in as Fire Mario/Luigi, but otherwise you just
have to work on avoiding his projectiles. Jump up to the next one and
you will see that another flying Bow-Wow has flown in from below. This
means you need to quickly get over to the brown pad on the right,
because the first Bow-Wow is about to explode. And you don't want to be
caught anywhere near it.

Then jump up onto one last pad and let it carry you up to a cloud that
is directly underneath the green pipe you will use to get out of here.
So jump up into that green pipe, and make a mad dash for the finish
line before that Lakitu up above gets you.

|    The Koopas' Airship    |
 ==-----------------------==

First let the screen pan over to the very far right, and then jump
over onto the FlameThrower as soon as it comes into your view. Now wait
for the screen to pan over a little more, and then jump down to the ?
block over on the right and hit it. Pick up the Magic Mushroom that
pops out and wait there on top of the block for a few seconds. Jump
over past the two Cannons below and up onto the next large brown crate.
Then jump up onto the gun, and then up to the top of the wooden
staircase when it comes into view.

From here run underneath the first cannon and then jump up between the
gape between it, and the next cannon, and up onto the top of the large
gray square. Allow your self to disappear off screen for just a second
as the screen pans, and then make a running leap all the way over to
that small brown platform on the far right. Avoid the cannon balls as
you walk down across the metal stick and jump down to the other side
of the wooden pole.

Stand right in front of the Gun and kneel down to avoid its fire. Jump
up and over it just when the Bullet Bill is off out of your way. Next
you can jump off of one of those cannon balls being fired and right up
onto the top of the gray square. You aren't competely safe up here, but
you're much safer that you would be if you tried to run past them down
there. So slowly begin walking along the top of this square and avoid
all of those cannon balls begin fired at your from below. When you
reach the end of this square you can then jump over the next Gun and
drop down that gray pipe to enter into the fight with the Koopa Cousin
of World 5!

This guy is slightly different that all of the other Koopa Cousins you
have so far run into, because this guy can hurt you a 3rd way. Not only
can he hurt you with his spikes and his wand; but he can also pound the
ground beneath him and cause you to be frozen in your place, thus
making you a very easy target.

Jump on him once and then quickly jump away again to avoid his spinning
shell. He will then fire off another shot from his wand and pound into
the ground in an attempt to stun you. So jump over those three little
rings and, if you're still airborne, then you should be immune from his
earthquake and free to jump on him again. Now run to one side to allow
his shell to flip up over you and then jump away again to avoid his
crazy spinning. Let him fire one last time, and then jump over those
those rings and right onto him to finish him off for good. When the
magic wand drops back downto you, just go over there to pick it up and
then go take it back down to the gracious King below. Nice Job!

Jump up onto the four ice blocks up ono the right, and then over onto
the ones that are under the golden bricks. Hit the ? block and jump up
onto it to catch the Magic Mushroom. From up here you can see a Piranah
Plant sitting in the green pipe blowing a spiked ball into the air. You
need to wait until the ball has gone back done to the Plant, and then
jump over the green pipe. Pick up the three coins and continue right.
Now you will come upon another Piranah Plant, except this one is moving
around on the ground. Wait for him to shoot his spiked ball up really
high and then jump underneath it. Then run up to the next green pipe
and wait for the Piranah Plant inside of that pipe to go back down.

Now jump over that pipe and hit the ? block over on the other side.
Continue walking right and jump over those two pits in the ground.
Stand at the foot of this next pipe until the Piranah Plant goes down,
and then jump over it and start walking to the right. Now you will come
to a couple more walking Piranah Plants. Wait for the first spiked ball
to shoot all the way up, and jump under the ball and then quickly
underneath the next one as well. Hit the ? block and jump on top of the
next green pipe you come to. Then jump over to the ? block and pick up
the Fire Flower.

Then hop over to the next three ice blocks on your right. Wait for the
Piranah Plant below to be out of your way and then jump over two more
ice block platforms. Jump over the next walking Piranah Plant and run
over to the next pipe. Jump up just barely onto the left edge of this
pipe and you'll be just out of range of the next enemy. Wait here for
his spiked ball to shoot all the way up and then jump underneath it
before it drops back down on you. Be sure you jump completely over the
pit that is just to the right of that green pipe. Now just run right
into the finsih line of this stage.

This is another one of those stages where the screen is always panning
over towards the right. Which means you have to keep moving in order to
stay alive; but you shouldn't rush yourself either.

First jump off of this line of brown blocks over onto the next one, and
then hop down onto the first moving cloud that appears on screen. Make
a running leap over onto the next one that comes in up above, and then
get up onto the ice blocks above it. Hop down onto the cloud that flies
in almost level with the ice block platform and then jump down onto the
ice blocks near the bottom of the screen. Pick up the blue brick and
throw it at the ? block on your right. Then jump up onto it and pick up
the Magic Mushroom that pops out.

Wait here just a moment and then jump up onto the 2nd cloud that comes
onto the screen first. Next jump up onto the one just above it, and
then make a tall vertical leap over the pillar of godlen bricks and
land on the brown blocks on the other side. Now start jumping over from
platform to platform, getting all the coins you can, and you will
eventually see a very, very tall pillar of brown blocks ahead. When
that happens you must quickly jump up onto the cloud above you, and
then keep jumping up onto the next highest clouds until you can jump
up on top that pillar

Next jump down onto the cloud that is between you and the 4 ice blocks.
Then jump over onto those blocks and up onto the platform of brown
blocks just above it. Throw those two blue bricks out of the way and
start hitting the golden brick until it stops giving you coins. Then
jump over to the next platform and throw that Koopa out of the way. Now
wait here a second and make a running leap over onto the 2nd cloud that
flies into the screen. Stand on this for just a second and then drop
down onto the line of four ice blocks you see down below.

Let the screen pan just a little downward and jump onto the four brown
blocks as soon as you can see them. Now quickly jump onto the next two
clouds and up onto the platform of brown blocks that is above you. You
will be off screen now, but that's okay. Just stand on the middle block
of this platform and jump up. Then drop down onto the platform of four
brown blocks that is down on the right, and stand there until the extra
life drops down to you.

Jump over onto the brown block platform over on the right, then up onto
that cloud that flies into view, and then over onto the top of the
green pipe. Go down that pipe, and start running to the right as soon
as you drop down on the other side. You'll find the end of this stage
there waiting for you.

Jump over onto the white mucsical not blocks and just keep bouncing up
and down until the brown pad comes into view below. Then hop down onto
that pad and let it carry you till it is almost past the ice blocks
above. Then jump over to the right and land on the block directly to
the right of the ? block. Jump up onto that block and then jump up
really high and to the right to land on the ice blocks holding that red
Koopa. Jump on him and pick up his shell. Take that shell with you as
you jump back down onto the ? block. Be careful because that ice is
slipperey, and stand on the 2nd ice block from the ? block. Then throw
the shell at the ? block and quickly jump up over the shell and onto
the Magic Mushroom you just earned.

Now start jumping CAREFULLY from thin platform to thin platform as you
head to the right. Jump on the red Koopa pacing around on the big ice
blocks and just throw his shell out of the way. Next jump over onto the
'L' shaped collection of blocks that is just on the right. Ignore that
red Koopa and jump up onto that first golden brick. Then hop onto the
next four ice blocks, and then over onto the ice blocks you can just
barely see over on the right. Then jump over to the next three ice
blocks and start hitting the golden brick until it stops paying off.

Then hop up onto the block and down to the pair of ice blocks below on
the right. Wait there for a brown pad to slide over to you, and then
jump onto that pad. When it comes to the pillar of 4 ice blocks you
must jump up onto it, and then back down onto the pad, and then over
onto the line of ice blocks that resembles a backwards 'L'. Hop up onto
the top block of this L and then up onto that single golden brick in
the sky.

Wait up there a second and hop down to the brown pad that slides over
down there. Duck down to avoid hitting the pillar of ice blocks, and
finally jump over the 1st red flying Koopa and off of the 2nd red
flying Koopa to land on the snowy surface you see ahead of you. Now
just start your run for the finish line of this stage.

|    Koopa Castle 1    |
 ==------------------==

Okay first step forward to drop down onto the bottom platform of gray
blocks, and then jump over onto the two green pads that will transport
you around during this first half of this castle. It will take you up
over the lava pit and then over a long spiked floor. When you get past
the spiked floor you then need to stand over on the left half of this
pad. Then, when the spinning ball passes by you, rush over to the right
half of the platform to avoid the next spinning ball. Then go back over
to the left half to avoid the next spinning ball, and jump off of the
platform when you see the spikes below. Walk over to the brown door and
enter into it to be taken into the next area of this castle.

Jump up onto the gray circle in the middle of the spinning balls, and
then hop down and hit the ? block. Run over to where the tall gray
pillar in the background is, and wait there for the Magic Mushroom to
come to you. Then continue to the right. Wait for this next spinning
ball to be out of your way and then jump over the blue block sitting on
the ground and run to the right. Press down to slide underneath the
wall of blue blocks and jump up onto the next platform of blue blocks.

Wait for that next spinning ball to move out of the way, and then jump
onto that three blue block platform and hit the ? block. Now jump up
onto that block and pick up your Magic Feather. You can safely stand
up here for a while. Wait for the spinning block to be clear and then
drop back down onto that platform and quickly jump up over to the
next platform on the other side of the spikes. Enter into the brown
door and you'll go into the battle room of this castle.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Castle Stage and clear out
the barrier that was blocking you off from the rest of the map.

First run to the right and make a leap onto the top of the next
platform. Wait for the red platform to stop spinning and then jump onto
it, and then over onto the big ice block. DON'T jump down onto the next
spinning red platform, but instead jump over onto the small ice block
that is just down and to the left of the brown block. Wait for the 3
Goombas to drop off the edge, and then go down the little staircase
made up of ice blocks. Jump over to the small ice block directly under
the golden brick and be careful you don't slide off. Now jump up to hit
that golden brick, and then jump up onto that brick to catch the extra
life that popped out.

Now jump up onto the wall of big ice blocks over on the right. Jump up
onto the pad, but then quickly up onto the next two ice blocks and get
the two coins. Wait up there a moment and then jump down onto the brown
pad when it is on the right side below you. Ride this pad until you are
underneath the ? block, and then jump up to hit that block. Jump up
onto the block to catch your Magic Mushroom. Wait for the brown pad all
the way at the botton of the screen to be underneath you, and then jump
down onto it.

Let it take you over to the right and then jump onto the two brown
blocks. Walk over to the right edge and jump onto the brown pad you see
going around the small track. Then jump onto the next pad, and then up
onto the pillar of 4 large ice blocks. Up ahead you will see a Power
Switch sitting atop a tall pillar of golden bricks. So jump out onto
that Switch and fall straight down to collect those coins. Now start
running to the right and crouch down to slide under the first big ice
block you come to.

Jump up over the next one and onto the two golden bricks. Jump up over
the flying Bow-Wow and onto the next three golden bricks. Then continue
running to the right and crouch down to slide under the next ice block.
Jump over the next one, and then for the final one you must get a good
running start to sail just out of reach of the spinning red platform.
Now just run to the finish of this stage.

First jump up over the three large ice blocks and run into the green
pipe. You will pop back out inside the ice pyramid. Start walking to
the right and jump up into the first green pipe you come to overhead.
Hit the ? block and pick up your Magic Mushroom. Then, DON'T enter into
the pipe on the left, but instead go back down the pipe you came in
through. Then jump back up into the pipe to re-enter that room, and hit
that same ? block again to get your magic feather. Go back down the
pipe on your right and start spinning your tail. After you kill the two
approaching enemies you can then start walking to the right.

Jump up onto the ? block as soon as it comes into your view, and then
jump down onto the enemy armed with a blue brick. Keep moving right and
up the steep snow hill. Jump over the first enemy, and then onto the
second one before he hits you with a blue brick. Walk down to the
bottom of the hill on the right and throw each blue brick in the pillar
over to the left. Then jump over the green Koopa and onto the next
enemy before he throw a brick at you. Then walk back over to the left,
hop on the Koopa, and pick up his shell.

Now here's the tricky part. You need to now run back and forth down
here until your Power Meter is full. Keep the green shell in your hand
as you do so. And then, when your meter is full, you can fly straight
up the hole in the ceiling that is above you and to the left of that
pillar of four golden bricks that you see ahead. Once you get up there
you can then stand on the two brown blocks and throw the green Koopa
shell to the right. Let it break all of the golden bricks, as well as
kill those little blue Chompers. Then, when the green shell goes flying
back down and out of your way, you can step down and go into the green
pipe that is now accessible.

If for any reason you should lose your Magic Feather before you make it
up there, you can always go back to that first pipe you went in and get
another one. Also, you can get an extra life by flying up into the hole
in the ceiling that is 2 over to the left from the one you go up into
if you want to exit this stage. Just hit the 1st golden brick of the
top three bricks to pop the extra life mushroom out, and then fall down
to the floor to collect it.

Anyway, when you exit the green pipe you cleared out earlier, you can
run to the right and jump up to hit the usual finish of the stage.

 ==---------------==

Your first move is, obviously, is to enter into the green pipe right in
front of you. Then start walking to the right and jump up onto the
brown blocks that sit above the staircase. Then jump up onto the snow
platform above you, and then stomp onthe green enemy. Pick up the three
coins above your head and then go right. Hop up the steep hill and jump
over each small water pit. A fish will leap up from them from time to
time, so only jump when you see he is not above you. Jump on the little
green enemy in the area just past those pits and hit the ? block. Pick
up your Magic Mushroom, and then go back down the hill to the left.

Drop down the snowy staircase, and wait on the bottom step until you
see the red little Kahuna to jump over to the water pit on the right.
Then jump onto the snow between the two pits, and then continue going
right when he jumps over you. Wait for the Piranah Plant to go back up
the tube and then jump underneath it, and over the next little pit. Hop
on that next green enemy as you continue forward, and jump up onto the
next snow hill. Don't slide down it, because there is a Piranah Plant
waiting for you at the bottom. So instead jump up high over it, and
then walk underneath the next green pipe when it is clear.

Enter into the water and stay near the top to avoid that first little
green Kahuna. Drop back down when you pass over the second fish, and
stay up against this new ice ceiling to make it past the next Kahunas.
Swim up onto the two ? blocks and walk over to the right. Swim through
the gap in the brown blocks that is to the right of the ? blocks, and
hit those ? blocks when the little green Kahuna is over on the left.
Then swim back up onto those blocks and get your Fire Flower.

Now float back down to the platform of brown blocks below, and shoot
the little green Kahuna with fireballs before he touches you. Then
float up and swim to the right. Stay between the fish above and the
brown blocks below. Swim over the fish that is right in front of you,
and then over to the green pipes ahead. Start throwing fireballs at all
of the Piranah Plants as you continue, and then kill that next Kahuna
as well. Then hop up out of the water on the other side and drop down
to the snow tunnel. Shoot those green guys with fireballs to quickly
clear them out of your way as you continue to the next green pipe.

Then kill that Piranah Plant and go up the steep hill. Carefully jump
over the little water pits and avoid the little leaping Kahuna. At
the top you can jump up into the green pipe. This pipe will take you
to right outside the end of this stage. Be sure to shoot the last enemy
as you run to the right and hit the finish.

|    Stage 6 - 7    |
 ==---------------==

This stage is dangerous only if you really want to get coins.

First let the screen pan for a while, until you can see two platforms
up ahead. The blocks these platforms are made of will fall off when you
stand on them for too long, but in this stage you use that to your
advantage. So jump over to the first platform, and then over to the
second. Stand on the last hollow block of that platform and let it drop
you down ALMOST off screen. Jump up before it does and carry yourself
onto the green platform. Jump up to hit the ? block, then hop up onto
that block and get your Magic Mushroom.

Now walk along the ice blocks and over to the next hollow block. Let it
fall off, but jump over onto the four hollow blocks before you fall off
screen. Stand on the third block of this platform and ride it down to
pick up the coins below. Quickly jump up onto the next line of ice
blocks, and from here you should be able to jump on the fling Bow-Wow.
Jump onto the hollow block between the two ice platforms and drop down
just enough to get those three coins. Then jump up onto the platform
made of 5 ice blocks and jump up to get those 3 coins floating
overhead.

Next jump over onto the next line of hollow blocks and take the fourth
one down to get the coins. Then jump onto the next three blocks that
are underneath the ? block. Hit that block, and then ride the 3rd
hollow block of this platform down to the three coins. Quickly jump up
onto the next three hollow blocks down near the bottom of the screen,
and then up onto the blocks underneath the golden brick. Hit that brick
and jump up onto it. Then over onto the hollow block above those four
coins and let it take you right into them. Jump onto the ice blocks
before you drop down out of sight, and then hit that ? block. Jump up
there to get your Fire Flower.

Now jump over onto the two golden bricks on your right, and then up
onto the two hollow blocks you see just above and to the right of them.
Stand on the second one, and let it take you down to the platform of
blocks you see down at the bottom of the screen. Jump down onto the ice
blocks, and then jump up onto the hollow blocks above you and to the
right. Keep jumping up and to the right to climb these platforms like
a staircase, and ignore those coins down there. Eventually you'll come
to a small green platform. Jump up onto that platform, and kill that
flying Bow-Wow before he fires at you.

Now jump up onto the ice blocks over on the right via the two hollow
blocks. You will see that up here there is a hollow block where the 3rd
ice block should be. Ride this hollow block down, but jump over onto
the white musical note blocks just before you drop off screen. Bounce
off of these blocks and onto the green tube.

You'll drop down on the other side, and onto a big stack of frozen
coins. If you were luck enough to hold onto that Fire Flower you got
earlier, then you should now be able to melt the ice and get the coins.
Just be careful of the green Koopa you release when you melt enough of
that ice. Get all the coins you can, and then go right and hit the
finish.

|    Koopa Castle 2    |
 ==------------------==

First you must take note of that Boo you see in the upper-right corner
of the screen. As with all Boo's, this guy can only attack you when you
turn your back to him. So as you plat you must make every attempt to
always face him.

Jump up onto the ice above and run to the right. Jump over the little
ice block in your way and drop down before the Angry Spike Block gets
you. Turn back to face the Boo, so that he won't chase after you. Then
continue running right, but stop when you reach the ? block. Becareful
not to slide over the edge, and also turn back to the left and stop
that Boo dead is his tracks. Jump up to hit that ? block, and jump up
on top of it to then get your Magic Mushroom. Then jump over to the
three little ice blocks to your right and face the left. Stand on the
third little ice block and wait there for that Spike Block overhead to
start slowly moving back over to the left. Then jump up into his path
and quickly run to the right, over that little ice block.

Now you come to the next Angry Spike Block. Wait here for it to hit the
left wall of ice, and then quickly drop down behind it before it comes
back. Drop down to the bottom ice platform and then continue to your
right. Jump up onto the little ice block you see connected to the big
ice block that is just over the pit. Wait there for the Angry Spike
Block above you to hit the little wall of ice on the right. Then wait
for him to be just enough over to the left for you to get past him, and
then jump up ontop of those big blocks and crouch down to slide under
that two little blocks.

Walk down onto the two little ice blocks on the other side, and you can
now see a spinning ball up ahead. Jump over onto that next platform,
but stop when you are directly beneath the ? block. This can be tricky
due to the slick icy floor. Then hit that ? block and jump up there to
get your Fire Flower. Next drop back down onto the icy platform and go
right. Wait fore the Angry Spike Block overhead to be out of your way,
and then jump up onto BUT NOT OVER the little ice block that is in his
way. Face the right so the next Boo won't attack you, and wait here for
the next 2 spinning balls to get out of your way.

Then make a mad dash over to the right, and drop down past that next
Angry Spike Block as soon as he pounds into the right wall. Get all the
way down to that bottom platform and then continue to the right. As
soon as another Angry Spike Block comes into view you must jump up over
him and onto the big ice blocks above him. Walk over to that orange
door and press UP to enter into the mini-boss battle of this castle.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good. Try to stay out of that little
blocked in area on the lower-right corner of the screen, because he may
attempt to trap you in this area where there is no escape.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Castle Stage and clear out
the barrier that was blocking you access to the rest of the map.

 ==---------------==

Pick up one of those blue bricks, and take it up onto the top of that
grassy hill. Throw it at the ? block and pick up the Magic Mushroom.
From here you can jump up high over the Piranah Plant below and down
onto the grass field on the other side. Hop on that green Koopa and
pick up his shell. Then take that shell and walk over to that first
white Chomper you come to. Throw it at that enemy and then start
chasing after it so it will clear out all the others. After them you
can continue up the grassy hill, but you must jump on those little
green guys that scatter the ground.

When you reach the slope you can slide down it to get that next enemy,
and then walk down to the blue bricks. Clear a path to the ? block,
and then slide underneath it and hit it to reveal a Magic Feather. Pick
it up before it falls off screen, and then jump down on that next enemy
armed with a blue brick. Now you come to a large 'H' made up of blue
bricks. Pick up the brick closest to the ground, and then throw it at
the enemy that is trying to hit you on the other side. Now run and
slide underneath the large H. But pick up a blue brick, and take it
with you up to the top of the next grassy hill. Throw it at the little
white chompers and chase after it to make sure it gets them all.

Then slide down the slope to get the next enemy, and jump up at the end
to leap over the little pit and land on the enemy armed with the brick.
Then just jump over the next pit and keep running to the right.
Eventually, you will come to the end of this stage.

|    Stage 6 - 9    |
 ==---------------==

Jump up to the top of those three big ice blocks, and then go down the
green tube you see there on the other side. As soon as you drop down
into the water you need to start floating up to the surface. Stay as
close as you can to the surface as you continue right, and hop up onto
that little brown block you come to shortly. Then jump onto the snowy
platform above. Hop up onto the the two brown blocks, and then jump
over the black Chompers below and onto the other brown blocks. Step
down onto the snow just to the right, and then jump over onto the brown
blocks before the next set of little black Chompers. Now make a long
leap over these next Chompers and hit the white note block on the other
side. Pick up the Magic Mushroom that just popped out.

Now wait for the next Piranah Plant to go back up the pipe, and then
run under it. Notice that I said RUN and not jump. If you run fast
enough you won't fall into those Chomper pits. Then drop back down into
the water below you. Stay close to the water's surface as you swim to
the right, and eventually you'll come to another little brown block.
Now hop over this set of little Chompers just like the ones earlier,
and then hit the golden brick above your head to reveal a Power Switch.

Now step down to the left, onto the two little brown blocks. Then jump
up and just a little to the left, and you'll hit a hidden block. Next
jump back up onto the snow on the right, then up onto the block you
just revealed, and then onto that Power Switch. This will turn all of
those annoying little Chompers into coins!

So start off to the right and pick up all of those coins before they
change back. Then drop down onto the little brown block that is on the
wall of the pit just past them. Jump up to hit that white musical note
block above your head, and from here you should easily be able to catch
the Fire Flower. Then hop up onto the snow above you and on the left,
and the bounce off of the white note block and onto the brown blocks
above the black chompers. Shoot that next Piranah Plant with fireballs,
and then jump up to shoot the next one. Jump up onto that pipe, and
hop up into the one directly above your head.

When you exit this green pipe out on the other side, you can just start
running to the right and you'll soon find the end to this stage.

|    Stage 6 - 10    |
 ==----------------==

First hop up over that first little pit and over onto the three big ice
blocks. Then jump up onto the platform of five ice blocks. Just ignore
that pair of red Koopas and jump onto the three ice blocks below you
on the right. Then jump over that first green pipe, and step down onto
the large ice block just to the right of the second green pipe. Jump up
to hit the ? block, and then quickly jump up onto the golden bricks and
collect your Magic Mushroom. Hop on those two pacing Koopas and throw
their shells to the left, NOT the right. Then jump down to the right
and step up to the huge wall of bricks. Pick up one of the blue bricks
that make up the bottom, and then throw it at the enemy as soon as he
clears the way for you.

Now pick up the blue shell to your left, and then slide underneath the
golden brick and hit it to reveal a Magic Vine. Jump up onto that vine
and climb it up to the very top. Break the 3 golden bricks up there and
then jump on that Power Switch, which will turn all the bricks to your
right into coins! So jump down to your right and collect as many coins
as you can as you fall back to the ground.

Now jump up onto the three ? blocks, and then onto that annoying little
enemy that is holding the blue brick. Go back to hit those three ?
blocks and pick up the Fire Flower. Now you can use your fireballs to
melt the coins locked in ice. But make sure you don't accidently melt
the blocks that contain enemies!

Now continue right, and pick up any and all coins along the way. Ignore
that green pipe covered by frozen Chompers, because although it looks
like it contains something it is actually impossible to get down there.
So just hop over that next red flying Koopa, and start collecting those
coins that make up the platform beneath your feet. but watch out for
those annoying little guys that throw bricks at you. The best way to
kill them is by throwing a blue brick at them, rather than trying to
destroy them with fireballs.

Just keep heading down this platform, and eventually it will come to an
end. Leave the coin that is at the very end intact, so you can jump off
of it and onto the two large ice blocks. Then wait for that red
spinning platform to stop, and then jump onto it and quickly over onto
the next large ice block. Ignore that red Koopa and jump over to the
small ice blocks you see on the lower right corner of the screen. And
from there you can already clearly see the ending to this stage.

|    Koopa Castle 3    |
 ==------------------==

Run to the right, and jump up onto that gray circle that is atop the
three blue blocks. Wait there for those two spinning circles to get out
of your way, and then jump over onto that thin striped platform. This
thing is going to push you to the right, so be ready for that as you
jump off of it and onto the next gray circle. Turn to face the left so
that the Boo will head towards you, but turn back towards him before he
actually touches you. You just need him to move out of your way so that
you can jump up over him. So now wait for those two circles to be clear
from your path, and then jump over that ghost and onto the next striped
platform. This one will try to pull you to the left, so you need to
fight it to run to the right.

Quickly jump up off of it as soon as you reach the platform's edge, and
sail over onto that ? block. Now wait for the Ghost Bar below you to
move over to the left, and then quickly drop down there and hit the ?
block down there. Then jump back up onto it to avoid that Ghost Bar and
catch the Magic Mushroom. From here jump over to the far right, past
the next Ghost Bar and over onto the pillar of four blue blocks. Jump
over that next Boo and start running to the right. Go underneath that
Ghost Bar and then up onto the gray circle just before the next thin
little striped platform.

Wait for the spinning ball to be out of your way, and then step down
onto that platform. It will try to pull you over to the left, so you
must run hard to the right to over-power it. First just run up to the
Angry Spike Block to get it to drop, and then run underneath it while
on its way back up and jump onto the next thin striped platform. Keep
running to the right, and up to the next Ghost Bar. These next 2 Ghost
Bars you can't jump over, or run under. So you will have to jump On
them. Watch the pattern of the Boo in the Ghost Bar, and then jump from
one to the other when the Boo is not in your path. Then jump far right
off of the edge of the second Bar and enter into the brown door.

Once you drop down onto the ground, you must immediately run to the
right side of the screen. But be sure to face the left side once you
get there so those Boos won't go after you. Wait here for the brown
door to come down to you, and then press UP as soon as you hear the
pounding noise. This door takes you into the mini-boss battle of this
castle.

The room you fight this guy in is a little difficult to manuever, due
to the odd placement of blue blocks up above. These can make it hard
to get a hit, but other than that this guy is as easy to beat as
always.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Castle Stage and clear out
the barrier that was blocking you access to the rest of the map.

|    Koopas' Airship    |
 ==-------------------==

Let the screen pan to the right a little until the blue bolts come into
view. Then run and jump down onto those bolts, and start hopping up and
down to get it to carry you over to the right. You don't need to take
it all the way to the other side; you only need to get close enough to
it to just jump over there. Then jump up the blue wooden planks and run
past the ropes in the background. Drop down onto the blue bolts, and
use them to get to the next one below you. Use those bolts to get over
close enough to the next blue wooden planks, and then go stand on the
port that shoots the FlameThrower.

Wait there for the fire to end, and then drop down the big blue steps
over to the next Flamethrower. Jump over it when the heat dies down,
and over onto the next platform of blue wood. Wait for the first
FlameThrower to die down, and then stand in between it and the one that
is above your head. Wait for that one to shut off, and then stand
between it and the next one that is on the ground. Let this next one
shut off for a second and then jump up the staircase over on the right.

Jump up onto the vent that spits the fire at the top of those stairs,
and then over to the right. Hit those two ? blocks and pick up your
Magic Mushroom that just popped out. Then quickly leap over to the
platform on the right. It will take you off screen for just a second,
but it won't kill you. Walk along this long plank, and at the end you
will see another FlameThrower overhead. Wait for it to shut off and
jump over to where the fire use to be, and then up onto the tall blue
pillar over to the right. Then jump over to the gray pipe and drop down
into it to enter the boss fight of World 6.

This guy is balancing on a big green circus ball, and he will fire
similar balls just like it from his magic wand rather than the usual
rings. You can jump on the balls, but you can't ever destroy them. So
jump on him the first time, and he'll throw a few out. Then quickly
jump on him another time, and run over to the corner to avoid his wild
shell. It is better to run than jump in here, because most of the space
above you is occupied by the balls. Now do your best to manuever above,
below, and around those green balls as you jump on him one last time
to finish him off for good. Then just pick up that magic wand, and take
it back down to the needy King below.

First, run to the right and enter into the black doorway just past
those first three pipes. You will then find yourself standing inside
the main area of this stage. But the odd thing about this stage is that
you progress through it by going up, not to either the right or left.
If you walk off one side of the screen, then you will just re-enter on
the other side.

Jump up onto the thin green pipe to the right, and then up onto the
pipe underneath the three ? blocks. Jump on the red Koopa shell and
throw it out of your way. Hit those three ? blocks, and then jump up
onto the thin green pipe over on the right. Stand on the left edge of
this thin pipe, and jump up into the pipe that is above you. You will
pop back up on the other side just over a couple of Piranah Plants.
Wait for the one on the right to enter his pipe, and then drop down in
front of his pipe. Now wait for the one on the left to be gone, and
then run over there and jump up into the pipe directly above you.

This pipe will take you up just below a trio of ? blocks. Jump up and
hit them all, and then get a running start to jump up onto those
blocks from the small gap to the left of them. Jump up while standing
on the ? block up against the pipe to your right, and you'll reveal a
hidden ? block. Pick up your extra life, and then drop down to the left
hop on that Koopa.

Throw his shell off the screen to the left, and then jump up the pipe
above you that is on the left. Now jump up onto the curved green pipe
to your right. Jump in between those two ? blocks and hit the red Koopa
you see pacing back and forth. Then pick up his shell, and jump up to
hit the ? block above your head.  Next jump onto the ? block to the
left, and throw this Koopa shell at the block on your right. The shell
will spin over and hit that block, and then come back to hit the block
you are standing on and give you a Magic Mushroom.

Jump onto the white musical note block to your left, and then bounce up
onto the stubby little pipe above you to the right. Hit the two golden
bricks above your head, and then jump up onto them. Next jump over onto
the thin green pipe to your left. Stand on the little brown block, and
from there jump up onto the thin pipe above you. Ignore that red Koopa
and, and jump up on top of the green pipe above your head. You should
now see Piranah Plants in both the pipe above, and the pipe below, you.
Jump up onto the next pipe above you, but stand on the very left edge
of the pipe. About only half of your foot should actually be on the
pipe, and you'll be just outside the reach of that Piranah Plant.

From here you can wait for the Piranah Plant above you and on the left
to go back into this pipe, and then jump over to where he use to be.
Quickly jump up onto the two white musical note blocks above you and
on the right. Just keep bouncing around up here for a moment. Look at
the pipe to your right and you'll see another Piranah Plant. Wait for
it to go back down and then hop onto that pipe. Then jump up onto that
single white note block to your left, and use it to bounce up onto the
two little brown blocks. Next jump up onto the next two brown blocks,
which are just above and to the right of you, and then go up the green
pipe above.

Up there you will find a couple of green Koopas headed your way. Jump
on the first one, and then kick he shell at the second one. Let that
shell go past you and hit the wall on the far left. Then as it comes
back you can jump over it and run as fast as you can to the left to
jump up onto the two little brown blocks to safety. Now hop across the
brown blocks to your right, and pick up the coins above on your way
over to that green pipe leading into the ceiling. Go up that pipe, and
you will be taken to just outside the ending to this stage.

Start walking to the right, and jump over that first white Chompper.
Then jump up over that first orange pipe, and down to the two ? blocks.
Pick up and throw both of those blue bricks, and hit the two ? blocks
you can now reach. Get the Magic Mushroom that just popped out, and
then jump over onto the two blue bricks on your left. Pick one of them
up and use it to kill the white Chompper sitting on the orange pipe on
the right. Now go down that pipe, and into the water that is below this
stage.

Start swimming to the left, and don't hit any of those golden bricks
above you. Pick up all of the coins you find at the end, and then jump
on the Power Switch. Now quickly get back in the water and start
swimming to the right. Pick up all of those coins before they switch
back to golden bricks. Then continue swimming to the right, and go up
into the very last orange pipe you come to. Now up here you will find
a green flying Koopa. Wait for him to fly over to the other side, and
then jump up to reveal a white musical note block. Keep jumping up to
revealing blocks as you go to the right, until you have created a
"ceiling" above you.

Then go down the orange pipe on the right, and hit the ? block you find
down there. Pick up your Magic Feather and then go back up that same
pipe. Be careful to avoid that green flying Koopa as you run over to
the orange pipe on the left, and then go down it to re-enter the water
below. Start swimming to the left, and enter the 3rd orange pipe that
you come to. Use your tail to kill that white Chompper, and jump up
onto the next orange pipe as soon as the Piranah Plant goes down. Next
jump up onto the wall on the right. Jump over the pit that leads down
to the orange pipe, and continue right.

Jump over that next white Chompper, and onto the first orange pipe.
Then jump over onto the tall orange pipe over on the right. Bounce
across the white musical note blocks, but be sure to bounce straight up
from the 6th one from the right to reveal a hidden block. Pick up the
extra life that just popped out, and then you can go down that first
pipe you come to on the other side. Once you get down there you can
start walking to the right. Jump over those two white Chomppers and
onto the little brown block. Then jump up onto the large sandy blocks
up above and on the right. Walk underneath those two orange pipes, and
hit the ? block on the other side. Pick up the Fire Flower, and then
turn around and start heading back. Kill those two white Chomppers and
jump back up into the orange pipe you used to get down here.

Once you get back up to the top, you can start jumping from pipe to
pipe as you go right. There are a good number of Piranah Plants that
will be popping up, but you can kill them easily using your fireballs.
And eventually you will come to a wall. When you come to that wall you
need to go down 4th orange pipe from the right, and then go down the
orange pipe you find down there. That pipe will take you just outside
the ending to this stage.

|    Stage 7 - 3    |
 ==---------------==

In here it is possible to have a Star Man during the entire stage, but
the catch is that you must already have a Star Man by the time you get
to the block containing the next Star Man. If you are not invincible at
that time, then you will not get one. So this means you will want to
make the most of it and always run throughout most of this stage.

So first, jump up and hit the ? blocks above your head. Pick up your
Star Man and immediately start running to the right. Slide down the
hill to pick off the line of green Koopas, and then start running
again as soon as you reach the bottom. You will see in front of you a
collection of ? blocks assembled like this:     [?][?]

                                             [S][?]

You must jump up and hit the one I've marked with an S, and then catch
the Star Man that pops out. Then jump up onto the top two ? blocks,
and onto the the next grassy hill. Slide down that hill just like you
did the previous one, and at the bottom you'll find another collection
of blocks exactly like the one earlier. Hit the same block you did in
the previous set, and then get your Star Man. Hop up onto the top two
? blocks and over onto the next grassy hill. Slide all the way down,
but jump over the pit at the end.

Hit the golden brick, and then hurry to catch the next Star Man. Then
once again start running to the right, jumping over any small pits that
you may come to. Ignore the next golden brick you come to, and instead
hit the one that is just before the stubby little green pipe to get
another Star Man. Now you can continue to the right, but you need to
slow down and be catious of the many pits ahead. Just past them is the
ending to this stage.

|    Stage 7 - 4    |
 ==---------------==

This stage is very odd for a under-water stage, in that the screen will
continusly pan to the right like it does in some of the other land or
air based stages.

So first, run forward and go straight into the green pipe in front of
you. Once you come out on the other side, you will find yourself under
water and the screen will then start to move. Swim forward to collect
those 5 coins, swim underneath those 3 little brown blocks but over the
Jellyfish Plant. Hit the ? block ahead and hurry to catch the Magic
Mushroom. Swim over the white circles and pick up those next 5 coins.

As you continue to the right, you will soon come to a large collection
of those little white circles. Stay up as high as possbile to avoid
this first Big Kahuna, but be catious of the little black Kahunas. Then
drop down to the sea floor so you can get underneath that Squid. Keep
walking to the right until the screen stops moving to the right and
starts moving upward. Now jump up off of the sea floor and swim up to
the top of the water. Try your best to avoid the Squid up here, along
with his little friends he shoots out.

Eventually you will come to a large mass of Electric Jellyfish. Try to
stay in the middle of this swarm, because that is where the easiest
path to manuever is. Swim up over that next Big Kahuna, and then just
past him is the end of the Electric Jellyfish. But awaiting you on the
other side is a couple more Squids. Do your best to manuever around
them, but don't swim too low or else you'll drop off screen and die.

Next the screen will begin to move downward a little, and you'll see
a ? block come into view. Swim down to hit it, and pick up your Fire
Flower. Then swim down lower, and go underneath the white circles, but
just over the JellyFish Plant on the sea floor. Continue right and pick
up the next line of coins, but be aware that a Big Kahuna is close by.
Swim over past him, and then up over the white circles not too far past
him. Pick up those next four coins, and over the Jellyfish Plant. Walk
into the green pipe that leads off to the right, and you'll be dropped
just outside the finish to this stage.

|    Stage 7 - 5    |
 ==---------------==

First, run straight into the green pipe that is right in front of you.
When you drop back down on the other side, you can then jump on those
two flying green Koopas and go up the green pipe over on the right.
Ignore those two red Koopas overhead and just go down the next green
pipe. Once you drop down on the other side of that pipe, you must then
hop on the Bob-Bombs and start throwing them to the right. Let them
blow up at a safe distance from you, and then continue to the right.

Jump up when you come to the first gap overhead to reveal a couple of
hidden blocks. Pick up the bottom blue brick, and take it with you.
Throw it at those two green Koopas ahead, and then jump up into the
next gap overhead to reveal a couple more hidden blocks. Then go right
just a little farther, and jump up onto the platform of blue blocks you
see above. Now walk to the left and jump up into the first pipe you
come to. Up there you can jump to reveal another hidden block, and
knock an extra life mushroom into the area to your left. Now go back
down this green pipe, and then jump up the pipe that is directly to
your left. You will pick up the extra life as soon as you come back up
on the other side.

Now jump up out of this area and go left. Go down the second pipe you
come to, and you will drop down just beside a ? block. Hit that ? block
and pick up your Magic Mushroom. Now jump over the little wall of blue
blocks to your left, and down onto the floor below. Once down there you
can start running to the right, and jump up into the green pipe you
find at the end. Hit the ? block you find up there, and pick up your
Magic Feather. Then drop back down that pipe, and jump up onto the
platform of blue blocks to your right. Go up the second pipe you come
to up there, and then hop out to the right.

Run to the right and eventually you'll come to a golden brick. Break
that golden brick with your tail, and then get a running start to slide
underneath it and over to the other side. Jump on the red Koopa, but
don't kick his shell. Jump down onto the green pipe below you, and then
over onto the lower blue block platform. Look up above you and you'll
see a large gap between the platforms above you. Jump up into that gap
and reveal all of the hidden blocks. Now turn around and go back to the
blue block platform that holds a red Koopa. From there jump up onto the
blue platform above you and on the right.

Now start running to the right, and soon you'll come to a green pipe
down below you. Drop down that pipe, and once you land you can drop
down to the right. Then jump up and hit all of the hidden blocks above
your head, so they make a walkway from that pipe over to the pillar of
blue blocks to the right. Now go over and jump up the 1st pipe you come
to on your left. Up there you will find a green Koopa in a "cage" of
blue bricks. Pick up and throw enough bricks to clear a path to the
other side, and then run to the left. You will see that you are back in
the room you were just in earlier.

Now jump up onto the top blue platform just like you did earlier, and
run to the right until you come to a green pipe below you. Drop down
that pipe, and use the walkway you created earlier to walk over to the
next green pipe. Jump up into that pipe, and it will take you to just
outside the finish of this stage.

|    Piranah Plant Stage 1    |
 ==-------------------------==

First, stand right where you are and let the Piranah Plant in front of
you shoot off a couple of fireballs. Then get a running start to jump
up onto his green pipe. Now carefully approach the right edge of this
pipe, and wait for the next Piranah Plant to come into view. Wait for
him to be out of sight and then jump over onto his pipe. From here you
can see that there is a series of very thin pipes ahead, and each pipe
has a little black Chompper coming out of the top. Watch them for a
moment and you will see their pattern. Learn that pattern, and then hop
over onto the first two thin pipes. Wait for the right time, and jump
onto the next 2 pipes and the next 2 pipes, until you come to a normal
sized pipe over head.

Wait for the Piranah Plant to slide back up into his pipe, and then
jump over onto the next pipe on the right. Jump onto the next vertical
pipe ahead, and stand as far to the right as you can until the next
Piranah Plant stops firing at you. Then jump up onto his pipe, and then
down the stubby pipe below you directly to your right. This pipe will
take you down into a secret underground pipe room. Walk over to the
little treasure chest to pick up your Power Wing, and bring an end to
this stage.

|    Koopa Castle 1    |
 ==------------------==

*You probably don't want to beat this stage the first time through.  *
*Due to its never-ending supply of coins that can be collected, it is*
*possible to collect three lives before the time runs out. That means*
*although you lose one life for running out of time, you still make  *
*two lives in the process! Get as many lives as you can before you   *
*complete this stage, because you'll need them when you enter World 8*
**********************************************************************

This is a really tricky castle, and you don't have much time to
complete it in. First drop down to the floor of golden bricks and go
right. Enter into the brown door you come to, and then start running to
the right. There are no enemies in this place, so don't worry about
anything hitting you. Enter into the next brown door that you will
eventually come to at the end, and you will be taken onto a platform
right next to a large lava pit.

Jump over the lava pit and onto the platform of gray blocks on the
right. Hit the three ? blocks above you, and then jump up onto them.
Leap far over onto the platform of blocks on the left, above where you
entered the room, and hit that ? block. Get the Magic Mushroom that
just popped out, and then jump back over onto the three ? blocks. Then
down onto the four gray blocks underneath them, and then over to the
door you came through earlier. Go in that door, and it will take you
back into the "dead room" you ran through earlier.

Start running as fast as you can to the left, but stop and enter into
the first brown door you come to. This takes you back into the first
room you started in with all of the golden bricks. Go left, and stop
when you are underneat the two gray blocks. Hit the line of bricks that
is the 4th one from those two gray blocks, and you will reveal a Power
Switch. Now jump up onto those gray blocks, and then stomp on the Power
Switch. All of the bricks around you will turn into coins, but you must
ignore them and just jump back over onto the two gray blocks. Enter
into that brown door before it disappears, and you'll be taken into a
secret room of the castle.

Once you appear on the other side, start running to the left and jump
into that first vertical gray tube that you come to. You will drop onto
some golden bricks, so just wait a moment for the music to end and they
will turn back into coins. Let yourself drop down to the floor, and
then walk over and hit the huge ? block. Catch your Tanooki Suit, and
then jump up the gray tube over on the right. It will take you back up
into the room you were in last. now walk into the tube on your right,
and you'll be taken to a small platform just above the lava pit.

Use your tail to safely flutter down to the three ? blocks, and then
down to the platform on the far left. Enter into the brown door, and be
taken back into the "dead" room. Once again run to the left, and enter
into the first brown door you come to. Now, back in the golden brick
room, you can go left and break the brick to reveal the Power Switch
just like you did earlier. Only this time jump down to the very bottom
floor of this room, and collect as many coins as you can get before
the music stops. When all of those coins change back to golden bricks,
you can then step into the brown door over in the right corner.

This has taken you back into the "dead" room. Now you must run around
down here until you can get your Power Meter filled completely up. Then
float up to the ceiling and enter into the gray pipe that is poking out
of the ceiling. This pipe is located easily, by first running all the
way to the left wall of this room. Now run to the right, and fly up
when you come to a second candle in the background. Directly above this
candle is the gray pipe, which will lead you into the usual mini-boss
battle for this castle.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Castle Stage and clear out
the barrier it was holding up.

Run to the right, jump over the pipe, and enter into the black doorway.
Now walk off screen to the left and you'll reappear over on the right.
Jump up the staircase of brown blocks, and when you reach the top you
can walk off-screen to the left again, and you'll once again appear
over on the right. From here jump onto the white musical note block
that lies between two pink hollow blocks, and wait for the Piranah
Plant up on the left to go down. Then carefully bounce up onto that
green pipe.

From here you can see a couple of pink hollow blocks above you and to
the right; and just to the right of those blocks is a Piranah Plant.
Wait for that Plant to go back into its pipe, and then jump up onto the
pink hollow blocks, and from then onto the stubby horizontal pipe. Hit
the ? block above you, and then hop up onto it. Jump on the block above
you that has a little white arrow, and stand on the left half of it as
it rises up past the first ? block. Then stand on the right half as it
passes th next block, then back over to the left half to clear the next
block.

Jump up onto the brown pad with a arrow pointing to the left, and let
it carry you over to the green pipe on your left. Then quickly jump
over that pipe and you should land on the outline pad when it reaches
the other side. Allow the pad to carry you off screen to the left, and
then jump up into the green pipe as soon as you are directly underneath
it.

When you re-appear back up on top of that pipe, you will see another
transport pad above you. Jump up onto this pad, and hit every ? block
above you head as it carries you to the next one. Jump down onto the
brown blocks just below the platform pointing to the right, and wait
for the Magic Mushroom to come to you. Now you see to your right is a
pad with a fat little white "!" on it. Jump on that one, and then
make a quick little jump up to cause the pad to change direction. Let
it head to the left until you are right of the line of ? blocks above,
and then jump again to make it start heading back up. Jump up again
when you are above the ? blocks to start coasting to the right, and
you'll avoid the spikes overhead. let yourself get past the spikes, and
jump one more time when you are directly underneath the gap between
the two sets of spikes.

Let it carry you up past those white spikes, and then jump over to the
transport pad on your right. Hit the two ? blocks above as you travel
to the next pad, and then hop on that next pad to start heading up.
Ignore the two ? blocks over head, and now jump onto the pad to your
right. Let it carry you underneath the three ? blocks, hit those blocks
as you pass, and then jump up onto the brown blocks above them. Hit the
next ? block right above your head, and then jump onto that block. From
there you should be able to reach the next transport pad, which has a
fat little "!" on it.

Jump up once to get this pad to carry you to the left, and then jump
again when you are between the green pipe and the brown blocks. Stand
on the left half of the pad to get past the Piranah Plant coming out
of that pipe, and then jump up again as soon as you are above those
spikes to change direction to the left. Jump one last time when you are
underneath the green pipe to be carried up, and then jump up into the
pipe to be dropped off just outside the ending to this stage.

The trick to this next stage is: RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!
It is one of those stages where you have to keep a Star Man on all the
time, or else you won't be able to finish. And you can't get the next
Star Man, unless you already have one on when you come to the block
containing it.

First, walk into the green pipe that is in front of you to enter into
the main area of this stage. Up ahead are a couple of pipes with
Piranah Plants, so just jump over them and walk up to the ? block. Hit
it, catch the Star Man, and then immediately start running to the right
as fast as you can. Your invincibility will protect you from those
black Chomppers below, so you can use them to run on. Hit the next ?
block, and then continue running.

Eventually you'll come to another block, and you must get the Star Man
from that one as well. Then continue right, and jump over the pipes you
see ahead. Then leap over the three little brown blocks and get your
final Star Man. Now run as fast as you can to the right, and you will
come to a green pipe leading into the right wall. Enter into that pipe;
and once you exit, just run right to find the finish to this stage.

|    Stage 7 - 8    |
 ==---------------==

First start running to the right, and leap over that first little green
pipe. Hit the four ? blocks above your head, and then jump up onto the
tall green pipe to the right as soon as the Piranah Plant goes down.
Wait for the next Piranah Plant in the next pipe to go down, and then
jump down onto that pipe to hold him in. Now take a moment to learn the
pattern of the two Piranah Plants ahead. One is above, and one is down
below on the right. You must learn there pattern, and jump when the
green one below is down, but the red one above has yet to reappear.
Do the same for the next two Piranah Plants, and then jump up onto the
large blue block in the background.

Hit those three ? blocks, starting with the one on the right, and catch
the Star Man that comes out of the block on the left. Use that to kill
the next few Piranah Plants, but then turn back around to the golden
bricks you just pased. Hit the first golden brick of the bottom four,
and pick up your Magic Mushroom. Now jump up over the three green pipes
you cleared just earlier, and jump over that little white Chompper.
Drop down below the line of golden bricks that the Chommper is standing
on, and break the 4th brick from the left to reveal an extra life. Pick
that extra life up, and then jump onto the thin white block in the
background.

Wait for the Piranah Plant below you to shoot his spiked ball high up
into the air, and then run underneath that ball and underneath that
green pipe. Jump up over the next green pipe, and run to underneath
those two golden bricks. Jump up to hit the one on the right, and keep
hitting it to keep racking up coins. Then jump up onto it, and wait for
this next spiked ball to be low to the ground. Then jump up over it and
over the next Piranah Plant in that pipe.

Jump over that next little white Chompper, and walk up to the next
green pipe. Get a little running start to jump up onto it, and then
quickly step down to the blue platform on your right to avoid the
Piranah Plant coming down overhead. Now run straight across those
little gaps in the platform, and at its end you can jump onto the next
green pipe. Then jump over that large hole and onto the next pipe. Wait
for the next two spiked balls to be down low, and then jump over both
of them. It is a little diffficult, but it can be done. Walk across the
thin green block and jump over that next green pipe when the Piranah
Plant goes down.

Don't go too far past this pipe, because the little white Chomppers
ahead can spit fireballs. So quickly run and leap over onto the golden
bricks above that fire-spitting Chompper, and then run to the right to
find the finish to this stage.

|    Stage 7 - 9    |
 ==---------------==

Okay, you don't get a lot of time in this stage, so you have to go
really fast if you want to get everything. First run to the right, and
jump up onto the three white musical note blocks. Bounce on the middle
block to release a Magic Mushroom between the two brown blocks, so hop
down there to get it. Let the red flying Goomba drop down from above,
and then fly off to the right. Now jump up onto those white note blocks
and from them bounce up through the crack in the blue pipe. Jump up
through the next two cracks, and then go left. Pick up and throw those
blue bricks out of your way, and just past the second set you will find
a crack that allows access up to the top blue pipe. So jump up there,
and walk over to the left edge.

Visible below you is a wall of three blue bricks blocking access to a
small section of the pipes. So drop down, and hold against the wall as
you drop. Press the 'B' button when you pass by the blue bricks so that
you will take one down with you. Throw that block away, and then get
back up to the top of the blue piping the same way you got up earlier.
Repeat this process until all three of the blue bricks are removed, and
then you can drop down into that section of the piping. Fall down the
crack in the area you just opened, and jump on that green flying Koopa.
Then hit the three ? blocks, and jump up on top of them to pick up your
Fire Flower.

Now walk up to the three blue bricks to your right, and pick-up and
throw them all. Then break the single golden brick above your head, and
then the next one to gain access to a small area of coins. Then drop
back down to two holes you just created, jump up onto the three ?
blocks, up through the crack above, and drop down to the left. Then run
to the right, and once again use the cracks in the blue pipe to get up
to the top of the structure. Use your fireballs to kill the Goombas up
here, as you go right. Jump down onto the brown blocks up ahead, and
then back up onto the next section of blue piping.

Drop down when you reach the white musical note blocks, and destroy the
three blue bricks on the left. Jump up through the crack in the above
pipe, and then break through the next three blue bricks. Drop down onto
the bottom brown block, and shoot the green flying Koopa with your
fireballs. Then jump up to the left and get those coins up there. Then
drop back down, and run right past the three brown blocks. Continue
right, and you will eventually drop down below a trio of ? blocks. Jump
up to this them all and then continue running to the right. Drop
through the first crack you come to, and down onto the sandy ground.

Now run to the left, and break the golden brick in the pipe above. Jump
through the hole you just created, and destroy those three blue bricks.
Drop down the crack just past that, and then you can countinue going
left. Break the next golden brick above, and pick up those three coins.
Then you can once again start walking left, and shooting any red flying
Goombas that you run into. Eventually you will come to another golden
brick above you. Jump up to break it, and then collect all of the coins
in the area you just gained access to.

Now drop back down the same hole you used to get up here, and start
running to the right until your path is blocks be a blue pipe. Then
jump up through the crack that is directly above you, and down the hole
that is not too far past it. Continue right, and you will come to a
couple more cracks in the pipe that are both directly above you. Jump
up through both of them and break the three blue bricks to you right.
Hit the golden brick above you, and then jump up there to collect all
those coins. Then break the next golden brick above your head, plow
through the next wall of blue coins, and pick up the next three coins.

Then turn around and go back through those two holes you created, and
go right. Break through the next little wall of blue bricks, and up
onto the three brown blocks. Then up onto the two brown blocks above
and to the right of those, and then jump up onto the blue pipes to your
right. Break through the wall of blue bricks ahead, and step forward to
collect the three coins. Then knock down the next three blue bricks,
and step down to get that next ? block. Drop down the crack to the
right of that ? block, and pick up all of the coins to your left.

Now turn back around, and go right. Break through the next little wall
of blue bricks and jump up through the crack above you. Drop down onto
the ground over on the right, and pick up those last seven coins over
to the right before you go down the dark-orange pipe, which will take
you to just outside the ending of this stage.

|    Koopa Castle 2    |
 ==------------------==

Okay first, don't go down the staircase ahead. Instead stay up on the
platform you begin on, and use it to make a running leap onto the red
pipe as soon as the Piranah Plant goes down. Up ahead you can now see
a Boo up high above a red pipe. Wait for this next Piranah Plant to go
down, and then jump onto it, and then quickly onto the little red
circle just past it. Turn to face the left so that the Boo will freeze
in his place. Wait for that next Piranah Plant to go down, and then
jump onto his pipe. Once again turn to face the left as soon as you
land, or else the Boo will hit you.

Now step down to the gray block to the right, and carefully hit the
golden brick that is just barely within reach. Quickly pick up the Star
Man that just popped out, and then start jumping from pipe-to-pipe as
you continue right. Eventually the Star Man will wear off; which will
be just a little after you reach the next Boo. Up ahead you see a red
pipe sitting on top of four stone blocks, and just above it is another
red pipe.

Both of these have Piranah Plants coming out of them. The best way to
go about this is first jump up onto the very left edge of the lower
pipe. This should keep you out of reach of the lower Plant. Then wait
for that lower Plant to go down, and you can walk over to the middle of
this pipe. This will both keep the Piranah Plant below you down, while
keeping you out of reach of the one above. Then carefully jump down to
the pipe on your right when it is clear, and then up onto the on just
past it.

Up ahead you see a pipe that is just below a ? block. Jump down onto
that pipe when the Piranah Plant goes down, and then hit the ? block.
Jump up on top of that ? block to get your Magic Mushroom, and from
there you can reach the little red pipe you see farther right. This
pipe sits right in front of a Angry Spike Block. You must get this
Block to pound the ground, and then go underneath it as it rises back
up to the ceiling. So first jump up over towards it, but make sure you
land back down on the red pipe you started on. Then, while the Angry
Spike Block is on the way back up, go underneath it and hop up on top
of the tall red pipe just past it.

Jump over on the next red pipes, but be sure to face the left when you
land on the structre of gray blocks. Now, as carefully as possible,
jump down to the right and pull yourself to the left so you land on the
red pipe below you. Go down this pipe to be taken into the next area of
the castle.

Once you land on the black/white checkered floor, you can start walking
to the right. Let those next two skeleton Koopas come toward you, and
jump on both of them to crush them for a few seconds. Then run
underneath the walla of blue blocks, and underneath the Angry Spike
Block that is just past them. Jump up the blue block staircase you now
see in front of you, and on the other side you will find the mini-boss.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Castle Stage and clear out
the barrier it was holding up.

|    Piranah Plant Stage 2    |
 ==-------------------------==

First, step down onto the horizontal green pipe to your right. Then,
from there, you can reach the next pipe as soon as the Piranah Plant
goes down. In front of you is a small group of black Chomppers that
keep popping up from their narrow pipes. Take a second to learn their
patten, and then jump onto one of those thin pipes, and then quickly
up onto the next thick green pipe. Now drop down to your right, and run
underneath the Piranah Plants above you. Wait at the foot of the next
vertical pipe you come to, and let the two fireballs fly overhead. Then
you can jump up onto that pipe once the Piranah Plant is down.

To your right you see another mass of little black Chompers below. You
can avoid dealing with these guys easily, by just jumping from white
music block to white music block all the way past them. Now you come
to a trio of green pipes.  Go down the tall pipe in the middle to be
taken into the final room of this stage, where you will find a treasure
chest containing a Magic Mushroom. You will then automatically exit the
stage and have a clear path to the King's castle.

|    Koopas' Airship    |
 ==-------------------==

As usual, the screen will start to pan as soon as you begin this stage.
So let it move to the right for a couple seconds, and then start
walking down to the right. Ahead you will see a set of those blue bolts
that you can use to move across, but don't jump onto them, because you
don't need them. Instead wait for the FlameThrower ahead to momentarily
shut off, and then jump down to the two gray bolts directly to the
right of it. Wait there a little longer, and then jump over onto the
two gray bolts to the right of the next FlameThrower. Now you can see
the end of the cable above you, which is marked with two gray bolts.
Jump up onto those two bolts, and then up onto the blue wood that is
above it and to the right.

Up there you can see a ? block down below you. Jump down there to hit
it, and pick up your Magic Mushroom. Then jump up onto the blue pilllar
to the right. Up ahead you can see another FlameThrower. Just like you
did earlier; wait for the heat to die down and then jump over onto the
gray bolts to the right of it. Let the screen reveal a little more of
the boat, and jump over onto the next blue pillar. Wait here a moment,
and then jump down to beside the next FlameThrower. Wait for the fire
to go back down, and then use this platform to get a running start to
leap over onto the next area of the boat.

Hop over the next short blue pillar, and then start walking to the
right. Jump on the Porthole Dogs that pop up, and you will soon come to
a blue staircase. But before you go up that staircase, you can jump up
onto the blue wooden platform beneath that ? block, and pick up your
Fire Flower. Then jump up that little staircase, and kill the PortHole
Dog at the top. Continue right and you will come to another set of
those blue bolts. Let the screen reveal a little more to the right, and
then jump over the short black cable. Stand on top of the short blue
pillar, and jump over the gap and onto the Porthole Dog on the other
side.

Use a short running start to reach the blue platform above you, and
jump onto that next Porthole Dog. Wait here a moment, and then jump
onto the blue platform that holds the next set of blue bolts. Let the
screen move for a while, and then use a running start to jump up onto
the next blue platform. Jump forward once more of the ship is revealed,
and land on the next small blue platform. This next set of blue bolts
you will actually have to use in order to reach the next section of the
boat, so hop up and down on it until you are within reach of the next
platform.

Jump onto the next short blue pillar, and ahead of you is three black
cables. Let a good portion of the screen ahead be revealed to you, and
then jump onto the blue bolts on the middle cable. Quickly jump up onto
the blue bolts on the top cable, and then up onto the tall blue pillar
that is past them all. Now jump up the staircase you see ahead, and
head down the stubby gray pipe to enter into the World 7 Boss Battle.

This guy can hurt you one of three ways: earthquake, spikes, and wand.
He will fire off the wand once at the very begining, and then every
time you hit him after that. He will cause an earthquake both right
before you hit him, and then again directly after. His spikes can only
hurt you if you land on them, and he will only put them up after you
have successfully pounded him. Since this Boss tends to use the
earthquake attack so much, it is best to stay in the air for as long as
possible. Keep jumping up into the air, whether you are trying to
attack him then or not.

Jump on him once and then quickly jump away again to avoid his spinning
shell. He will then fire off another shot from his wand and pound into
the ground in an attempt to stun you. So jump over those three little
rings and, if you're still airborne, then you should be immune from his
earthquake and free to jump on him again. Now run to one side to allow
his shell to flip up over you and then jump away again to avoid his
crazy spinning. Let him fire one last time, and then jump over those
those rings and right onto him to finish him off for good. When the
magic wand drops back downto you, just go over there to pick it up and
then go take it back down to the gracious King below. Nice Job!

|    Tank One    |
 ==------------==

Let the tank ahead get close to you, and then jump up onto it. Wait for
the next tank to roll onto the screen, and then jump onto the Cannon
that is just past the short black gun barrel. Stand here, and you will
halt the cannon balls as they shoot out. Let the tank roll onward, and
then jump onto the little cannon just past the next black gun barrel.
Then quickly over onto the next cannon, that is to the right of the
next black gun barrel. As this tank ends another, smaller tank will
roll on screen armed with a Flame Thrower. Walk along the ground until
the fire goes out, and then jump onto that little tank and hop on the
Porthole Dog. Stand on the little cannon on the edge of this small tank
and you should be safe for a few seconds.

Just up ahead another small tank will coming rolling in. Jump over onto
it and stomp that Porthole Dog. Wait just a few seconds, and then jump
over onto the next tank and do the same thing. Up ahead you will see
another tank, which has a couple of black gun barrels pointing in your
direction. Jump up onto the upper barrel, and then hop on that Porthole
Dog before he gets you. Leap over onto the gun barrel of the next tank,
and then hop on that next Porthole Dog. Just past him you can see a
small white propeller, followed by a ? block. Hit that ? block and pick
up the Magic Mushroom.

Leap over onto the gun barrel of the next small tank, and once again
hop on the Porthole Dog sitting at the top. Past the next little white
propeller is a couple of cannons. Stand on the cannon on the left, and
you'll be safe for the time being. Wait for that next Porthole Dog to
throw his little bone, and then jump over it and land on top of him.
Step down on top of the cannon to the right of that little propeller,
and wait there for the next small tank to roll into view.

Once it does, you can jump over onto that tank, and stomp the Porthole
Dog that pops up. Then stand on top of the cannon to your right, and
wait until it ALMOST takes you off screen. Then drop down onto the
black floor and start walking to the right, but be sure to jump over
the Bob-Bomb. Jump up onto the next tank as soon as it comes rolling
in, but DON'T JUMP UP right now! There is a huge cannon just off screen
and it will fire off great big cannon balls overhead. So let it fire
once, and then quickly jump up onto it.

Hop on that next Porthole Dog that popped up, and then stand up on top
of the two cannons that are facing in opposite directions. Wait up
there for the next tank to enter onto the screen, and then jump over
onto it and go down the gray pipe. Once you land, you will then enter
into a small fight with one of the Boomerang Brothers. Just hop on him
one time, and be sure to avoid his boomerangs as they come flying back.
Open up the treasure chest that drops down, and you'll pick up a Star
Man before you exit this stage, completed.

|    Battleship One    |
 ==------------------==

You'll begin this stage on top of a black gun barrel. Jump on the
Porthole Dog in front of you, and then jump over onto the platform
above that ? block. Keep walking to the right, and when you drop down
underneath the two cannons, you can quickly run over to the left and
hit the ? block. Run back over to the black gun barrel over on your
right, and wait there for the Magic Mushroom to come to you. Then jump
up onto that gun barrel, and hop over onto that next Porthole Dog. Get
up onto the cannon just to the right of him, and then jump over to the
next area of the ship.

As you walk right, you will eventually come to the end of the large
black gun barrel. Wait for the gun below you to fire, and then jump
over past it and into the brown water. Swim across the surface of that
water, and jump up onto the next platform of the boat. Start walking to
the right, but be sure to jump up onto the small black gun barrel as
soon as it comes into screen, before it fires at you. Now crouch down
and let the next gun fire overhead. Then jump up onto that gun barrel,
and then onto the next Porthole Dog.

Jump over to the right, and keep walking as you jump on the Porthole
Dogs that keep popping up. Pretty soon you will come to another large
black gun barrel. Walk to the very edge of the barrel, and pretty soon
the next wooden platform will come into view. So let the gun below you
fire off a shot, and then leap over onto that next platform. Look to
your right, and be sure to jump up onto the next large gun barrel as
soon as you can; before it fires right at you.

Hop on the next Porthole Dog, and then wait up there for more of the
ship to be revealed. Wait until you can what is to the right of the
next three gun barrels, and then leap over there. Jump over that small
gap and continue right. Wait on the edge of this next large gun barrel
for the Bob-Bombs ahead to both blow up. Then you can jump over onto
the gray pipe and go down it. One the other side of that pipe you will
run into an old friend on yours.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Stage, and it will clear out
the barrier it was holding up.

|    Pink Fire Bridge    |
 ==--------------------==

This bridge is split up into six squares, and three of them contain
stages, while the other three contain nothing. As you cross this bridge
you can sometimes avoid entering into any of them. But most of the
time, a hand will rise up from below and pull you into at least one of
them. The squares that contain the stages are the one on the right, the
one in the middle, and the one on the left. The one on the right is
1st, the one in the middle is 2nd, and the one on the right is 3rd.
This is the order you will most likely play them in, so this is how I
have listed them below:

|    1st Bridge Stage    |
 ==--------------------==

Straight ahead of you is a Fire Brother. Let him spit a couple of fire
balls at you, and then jump up over them and right onto his head. Next
jump down to the right, and start walking. Up above you is a couple of
lines of golden bricks. Stay down on the bottom, and wait for one to be
over you head. Then jump up to hit him. If one is already down at your
level, then the safest place to stand is as close to him as possible.
All of his hammers will miss you when you stand there. Then, when they
both are dead, you can break 3rd golden brick from the right, on the
bottom line of bricks, and catch your Magic Mushroom.

Now break through the top line of golden bricks and go right. Pounce on
both the Boomerang Brother, and the Jumbo Hammer Brother, as you walk
to the right. Go up the red pipe that is just past them, and it will
take you into the final room of this little stage. Open up the treasure
chest over on the right to get a Magic Feather, and they you'll
automatically exit this stage.

|    2nd Bridge Stage    |
 ==--------------------==

This stage is about as simple as it looks. Just jump from platform to
platform, as you both pick up coins and avoid the fireballs. For longer
jumps you may need a running start, but other than that the whole stage
is a piece of cake. On the other side of the lava pit is a red pipe
leading up into the ceiling. Jump up into the pipe to enter into the
finaly room of this stage. Go over to open up the treasure chest, and
pick up your Magic Feather and automatically exit this stage.

|    3rd Bridge Stage    |
 ==--------------------==

This stage takes you over a large lava pit, as you run to avoid the
little Kahunas that jump up from underneath. First just start running
to the right, and jump up to hit those two ? blocks you first come to.
Then continue to the right, and carefully jump over the holes in the
platform. You will then come to another ? block soon, however this one
contains a Magic Mushroom. Jump up to catch that mushroom, and from
atop that ? block you should be able to jump over the wall of brown
blocks in front of you.

Now just start going right again, and jump over any gaps in the
platform that you may come across. You will soon come to a line of
coins, which will lead to a red pipe leading up into the ceiling. Jump
up that pipe to enter into the final room of this stage, and inside you
will find a small treasure chest. Walk over to it to open it up, and
you will both recieve a magic Mushroom, and automatically exit this
stage.

|    Small Airship One    |
 ==---------------------==

This stage is similar to other Airship stages you have been to, except
this one has a much smaller area to travel on, and the screen is also
moving much faster than usual. Since this stage is basically a
combination of speed and very simple jumps, I can't really give you a
step-by-step walkthrough for this stage. I cah however throw some of my
strategy your way.

From the very beginning, you should try to jump onto the port of a
FlameThrower whenever possible, because they are usually the safest
place to be. There will be a lot of Porthole Dogs around, but you
shouldn't waste too much time fighting them. Jump on them once to get
them out of your way, and then focus mainly on the platform you will
jump over to next. NEVER make a "blind" leap onto something. Always
know where you are landing, and what you have to avoid there. In fact
most of the time, you can just ignore those Porthole Dogs completely,
as they usually can't even hit you.

Also, you want to always be on the highest platform you can get to.
Because the higher up you are, the more options you have in regards to
where you can land. Speaking of which; the jumps you will have to make
will become considerably longer as you draw closer to the end. Go down
the gray pipe when you do find the end of this little airship, and you
will enter into another mini-boss battle.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Stage, and it will clear out
the barrier it was holding up.

|    Stage 8 - 1    |
 ==---------------==

Get a running start and then jump over the gap right in front of you.
Hit the ? block over on the other side, and then jump up onto the black
pipe as soon as the Piranah Plant goes down. Drop down onto the ? block
to the right of that pipe, and then CAREFULLY down below it. Jump up to
hit that ? block, and quickly jump back up onto it to catch your Magic
Mushroom. Crouce down to avoid the fireballs coming in from left, and
then jump down onto the black pipe to your right. Wait there for the
air above you to be free of fireballs, and then jump over onto the next
black pipe, and then down to the ground below. Just be careful that the
brown block doesn't knock you down the hole behind you.

From here you can get a running start to jump up onto the bottom line
of golden bricks that is above you. Jump up to hit the 2nd brick from
the left in the upper line of golden bricks, and keep hitting it to
keep racking up coins. Then you can jump up onto the top four golden
bricks, and down onto two cannons stacked together you see down on your
right.

Wait for the gun aimed at you to fire, and then jump over the bullet
and down to the ground underneath the blue blocks. Walk to the right,
and hit the golden brick that is directly above the cannon on the
ground. Start hitting the ? blocks as you go right, and be sure that
you catch the extra life. Crouch down as you wait, or else the gun you
see ahead of you may get you. Use a running start to slide underneath
that gun, and hit the golden brick over on the other side. Catch the
Magic Feather that floats down, but don't forget about the gun to your
left.

Now jump onto the large black squares to the right, but turn to face
the left as soon as you land to stop that Boo from approaching. Jump up
to hit those two ? blocks, and then jump over onto the black pipe that
is just a little farther right. Step down to the other side of that gun
and start walking to the right. You will come to another gun, that is
on the very edge overlooking a large pit. So wait for that red flying
Koopa to go pretty high up, and then jump on him and bounce up onto the
two guns stacked up on the other side of the pit.

Ignore the coins below you, and jump directly over onto the next black
gun. Step down to the right, and just past the green Koopa you will
find a white musical note block overlooking another large pit. Use that
block to carefully bounce up onto that next black pipe, and then over
onto the next pipe. From there you can step down to the right, and
start running to the right to find the finish of this stage.

The trick to this stage is almost impossible to find without a clue.
What you need to do is drop down the yellow quicksand pit that you
first come to. At the bottom, you will find a comple of gray pipes; on
to your right and on to your left. The pipe to your right drops you off
above a small collection of coins, and the one to your left will allow
you to get a Magic Mushroom. I prefer to use the left one, but they
both take you to the same place, which is pretty close to the end.

So as soon as you get back up on top of the surface, you should start
up the snowy hill to your right. Jump up over that Piranah Plant, and
pick up those three coins at the top. Then slide all the way down the
other side of that steep hill, but stop before you fall down the large
pit at the bottom. Now make a running leap over onto the white musical
note block, then onto the next musical block, and then onto the snow
on the other side of the pit. The end of this stage is just a short
walk to your right.

First jump up onto the top of the stack of blue blocks in front of you,
and then drop down below and to the right. Jump over the spinning ball
and onto the little gray circle that is just past it. Then jump onto
the golden brick, and then up to the blue platform that is above the
next two spinning balls. Enter into that doorway, and then drop down to
the striped platform on your left. Wait for the fireball farther left
to drop back down, and then jump over the lava pit and onto the
platform of gray blocks. Hit the ? block and pick up your Magic
Mushroom. Then go back over and go through the same door you came in.

Drop down to your left and avoid those two spinning balls. Jump up onto
the blue block structure on the right, and jump up to hit the golden
brick above you. Hop up there to get your Fire Flower. Now step down
to the right, and jump past those next two spinning balls. Continue
right and you will eventually come to a brown door surrounded by golden
bricks. Break the two bricks to the left and enter into it. Immediately
jump to the platform on your right, or else you'll be pulled down into
the lava pit.

Keep jumping right from platform-to-platform, until you come to an
Angry Spike Block. Stand on the gray block that is just to the right
of him to make him pound the ground, and then run underneath him and
hit that ? block. Pick up your Magic Feather, and the start heading to
the right again. When you reach the end of the lava pit, you will start
to see blue windows in the background. Drop down the hole that takes
you to the brown door below, but don't enter into it yet. Instead look
at the hole you just fell through. It is about three blocks in length.
If you jump up to where the right-most block would be, you will reveal
one hidden block. Now just let the extra life come down to you. DON'T
JUMP UP to get it, or else you will reveal a couple more hidden blocks
and not be able to reach him. And now you can go through the brown
door.

Pick up the three coins to you left, and then run to the right and jump
over that Boo. Pick up the three coins over here, and then enter into
the door on this side. Crouch down as soon as you appear on the other
side, and don't get back up until you are past the spiked ceiling. But
press UP as soon as you do pass it, so you can enter the next door. Now
start carefully making your way towards the right, and ignore that
brown door that you pass by. Instead walk all the way to the dead end
you find down here.

Up above, and to the right of the spinning ball, are a couple of golden
bricks. Break both of these bricks and allow the skeleton Koopa from
above to drop down. Then jump off of him and up onto the top of the
blue blocks. Now go right, and enter into the brown door that you'll
come to soon. Once you the other side, you will see a couple of golden
bricks above you and to your left. Break the one on the left first, and
then hit the one on the right to reveal a Power Switch. Jump up there
to hit that switch, and then walk along the striped platform to the
right. Jump over onto the single gray block up against the right wall,
and into into the brown doorway.

The platform you fall upon will be frozen until the music stops. But
when it does begin movin again, you must crouch down so you can slide
underneath the ceiling of spikes. Eventually this platform will carry
you over to the mini-boss battle.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Stage, and it will clear out
the barrier that stopped you from moving onward.

|    Tank Two    |
 ==------------==

Get a running start, and jump up over that first small tank. Then jump
up onto the bottom of the next tank, and wait just a moment. Up ahead
you should see a close trio of cannons. Wait for the farthest one to
fire, and then jump over all of them. Let more of the ship be revealed
to you, and then jump over onto the black gun barrel that is up ahead.
Stand on the top gun barrel, and wait for more of this ship to be
visible to you. Then jump onto the platform up just ahead, and begin
walking to the right. Avoid the cannon balls coming in overhead, and
stomp on any Porthole Dogs that pop their little heads up.

You will now come to small gap between this, and the next piece of the
large tank. Just continue walking to the right, but be watchful of
those cannons overhead. As you move along this next part of tank, the
safest place to stand is direclty on top of the cannons. So jump from
cannon-to-cannon to move along, rather than just walking. But avoid
standing by any of those Bob-Bombs.

Next you will come to a couple more black gun barrels. Jump up onto the
top one, and then bounce on that Porthole Dog at the top. Then over
the little tank that rolls on screen next. This tank is carrying the
gray pipe that leads to the the mini-boss battle.

As always, the key to beating this guy is never giving him enough time
to attack. Jump on him once and he will termporarily put his spikes up.
Then wait just ONE second and jump up high directly above him, even
though he still has his spikes up. By the time you land he will have
just let his guard down and you will score a successful hit. Do this
one more time and he is down for good.

Go over and pick up the ? Ball to end this Stage, and it will clear out
the barrier that blocked the path to Bowser's Castle!

First, start running to the right and don't stop until you reach the
brick staircase. Then jump up that staircase, and jump on the bricks
that are directly below the large hole above your head. Let those two
hollow blue/green block take you up to the top, and then jump over to
the right. Walk all the way to the right, and you'll come to another
hollow block. Stand on this one and let it fall down, but only let it
carry you down to the floor below and then jump off before you fall to
your death.

Now walk to the right, and you'll come to a large staircase made of red
bricks. Start jumping up to the top of this staircase, but avoid the
spinning balls. As you go up the safest place to stand is as close to
the red circles as possible, because that holds you out of the spinning
ball's reach. And then, once you reach the top, you can start your way
back down the other side. Once you get down there, you can walk to the
find a large lava pit is your next obstacle.

Up ahead you must cross a large lava pit, and the only platforms you
can stand on are those hollow blocks that fall down when you stand on
them for too long. First jump up onto the three hollow blocks to your
right, and then up to the two on the right, and then up to the one over
on the left, and then the three to the left of that one, and then start
jumping up to the ones on the right again. From there you can keep
jumping from block-to-block to continue right, until you eventually
come to some red brick platforms over on the right.

In order to get onto the upper-most red brick platform, you must first
reach the hollow brick that is highest up and on the right. Then stand
on that brick and let it drop down just a tiny bit. This should give
you jsut enough room to jump up over onto that top platform of red
bricks. Once you are up there, you can walk to the right and enter into
the brown door.

Once you appear on the other side, you must once again avoid the lasers
being shot from the Bowser statues. Jump up onto the first one, and
then keep jumping from the top of one statue, to the next. Once you get
past the fourth one, you can then drop back down to the floor and start
walking again. About now you will start to see fireballs coming in over
you head, which means you are getting very close to Bowser. Avoid these
fireballs as best you can, as you jump from one hollow block to another
as you cross this lava pit. Over on the other side you will find a door
that takes you into the final fight with BOWSER!!!

This is different from any other battle you have had so far. Unlike the
others, you won't actually attack this guy. You simply let Bowser
destroy himself. You see, Bowser has two forms of attack; he will stomp
you, or he will shoot fireballs at you. The fireballs can be easily
avoided, but the stomps are what you need to focus on. Because each
time he stomps into the red bricks, he clears some of them away. So
what you need to do is stand on the red bricks until he leaps up into
the air, and then you can quickly jump away and let him break the red
bricks. When he breaks enough of the red bricks, he will fall through
the floor and down to his certain death.
(well, dead up until Super Mario World anyway)

Congratualtions, you've saved the Princess, and once again taken power
away from Bowser and his Koopa minions. The ending isn't great, but
it's not too bad either...

|-IV.---------------------- SECRETS / BONUSES ------------------------|

First off I will go into the Warp Whistle locations. There are three in
total that you can find, and each is well hidden in the game. After you
get the whistle, you can find it in your Item Storage Bar just like any
other item you collect from a treasure chest. Use the Warp Whistle
while you are on the map screen, and you will be taken to a special
area that allows you to skip over some stages of the game.


                 ===---Warp Whistle One---===
The first Warp Whistle can be found in Stage 1-3. Near the end of this
Stage, you will find a white rectangle in the background. If you stand
on this rectangle and hold DOWN for about 6 seconds, you will drop down
into the background. now start running to the right, and you will run
behind the black ending to this stage. Eventually you will be taken
into a hidden room where you willl find a toadstool offering a single
treasure chest. Open that chest, and you will be recieve the Warp
Whistle.


                 ===---Warp Whistle Two---===
The second Warp Whistle is found in the Castle stage on World One. In
order to get it, you first must be Racoon Mario. Now hold on to that
form of Mario/Luigi until you come the final door. When you get there,
you can run around until you get your Power Meter up. Then fly straight
up, and soar over the wall to your right. When you land, you can keep
heading to the right, and you will eventually find a small brown door.
Go through that door to be dropped into the room that contains a small
treasure chest, that is holding the Warp Whistle. If you want to remove
the barrier, then you will have to now go back into the Castle and
complete it the normal way.


                 ===---Warp Whistle Three---===
The third Warp Whistle is not found in any one Stage. Instead, it is
found by using the hammer while you are on the Map Screen of Stage 2.
Up in the upper-right corner of this map is a single boulder. If you
save the hammer you earn in one of the Hammer Brother fights until you
reach it, you can use it to break the boulder and open up a hidden
path. If you enter into this new path, you will battle a set of Fire
Brothers. A little past them is a Mushroom House, in which you will
find a Warp Whistle.

   -----------------------------------------------------------------

Every time you earn 80,000 points during the game, a N-card will appear
on the map. When you walk into this Card, you will enter into a
matching game. By flipping over cards, it is possible to earn items for
your Ttem Storage Bar, as well as extra lives and coins. But the catch
is that you can only flip over un-matching card two times, and then the
game is over. But, if you look at the 8 possible combinations below,
than you can get them all by using the process of elimination.

Some of the most difficult secrets to find are the White Mushroom
Houses. These locations are only accessable after you have gotten a
certain number of coins in a given stage. The only two prizes you will
ever get from these White Mushroom Houses are P-wings and Anchors.
P-wings can be used to give you a permanently full Power Meter that
will only last for one stage, and a Anchor can be used to hold the
Koopa Airship in place so that it can be more easily entered. Below
is a simple list of the Stages, coin goals, and prizes to be earned.

On the World Three Map, you can see a large boulder blocking the way
to a path leading to a small canoe. If you save a hammer from earlier,
you can smash through that rock and go for a little boat ride. Take the
boat right, and you will find a couple of islands containing some
Mushroom Houses and some Extra Life Games.


   -----------------------------------------------------------------

The trail to Bowser during the final World can be a daunting task, and
you'll probably spend a lot of lives trying to finish it. But, you can
make it a little easier for yourslef by stocking up on lives in the
Castle 1 Stage of World Seven. As you can see this Castle is full of
coins, and because the Power Switch returns after each time you go
through a brown doorway, it is possible to collect a great deal of
them. If you focus only on picking up coins, you can get somtimes as
many as 5 lives before time runs out. You will lose a life for running
out of time, but you will still have earned 4 lives! Repeat this until
you think you have as many as you'll ever need, and then you can go
ahead and completely finish the Stage to move on.


   -----------------------------------------------------------------

Each time you finish a numbered stage of the game, you will jump up to
hit a card. The card is switching between three images: Magic Mushroom,
Fire Flower, and Star Man. When you collect three of these cards and
they do not match, then you will recieve one extra life. But if all
three of the cards match, then you will recieve more. You get 5 extra
lives for having all Star Man cards, 2 extra lives for having all Magic
Mushroom cards, and 3 lives for having three Fire Flower cards. Since
the Star Man cards are the most valuable, they are the ones you should
be trying to get. The easiest way to assure you always get a Star Man
card is by gettting a running start, and jumping up into the lower-left
corner of the card box.

While you are playing a two-player game, and you see that the other
player has a card that matches a couple of cards that you already have,
then you may want to enter into a battle with him. If you hit him from
underneath and catch his card, then it will enter into your "deck" and
you will get the extra lives.

Here's another nice little surprise. After you beat Bowser and rescue
the Princess, you will be taken through a little credits screen, and
then a "The End" will show up over a red curtain in the background. If
you press start from there, you will be taken back to the opening
screen and be given the option of starting a new game. If you do start
a game, you will begin with a full stock of 28 P-wings in your Item
Storage Bar!

Although the final bout with Bowser is surprisingly easy, some people
still have trouble with it. So if you are a player that wants, or needs
a litle extra edge, than you want to battle the easier Koopa. The only
way to combat the easier Koopas is to use a P-wing. Enter into the
Koopa Castle Stage with a P-wing, and hold onto it all the way to the
fight with Bowser. From there you can fly up over the wall to your left
and enter into a battle with a Bowser that cannot shoot fireballs. If
you find youself unable to beat normal Bowser, than this may give you
the little extra edge you need.
