This guide is meant to detail the 名産品 (specialty goods) subquest that was
added to the PS2 version of Dragon Quest 5. This does not apply to the SNES
version of the game, but may apply to the DS version of the game when it's
released.

I. General information
==============================================================================
Scattered throughout the world of Dragon Quest 5 are souvenir-like items that
are called 名産品: specialty goods. Once you acquire the ship, you can
journey to the 名産品博物館: specialty goods museum, which is located east of
Telpador, and north of the Medal King's castle.
When you first enter the museum at night, you'll meet ゆうじい: Yuujii. He's a
grumpy old guy whose dream is to collect the specialty goods from all around
the world and display them in his museum for all to see. The only problem
is... he's no longer living. So he needs your help!
Your first task is to find the big medal, which you can find in the list
below. Once you bring it to him, you can start placing items in the museum at
night, and they'll be displayed during the day.
The museum is mostly for fun, but Yuujii keeps a diary that you can read as
you build the museum, and you can receive the admission fees from him after
a while, which can help when you're in a tight spot money-wise. The better
you arrange the items in the museum, the more/richer people will come visit!

II. Specialty goods locations

Below is a list of specialty goods in the general order you can get them in
the game, partitioned by generation.

"Museum Level" refers to the level of the museum it should be placed on.
Level 1 is 1F, 2 is 2F, and so on. Level 0 is the basement.
The various statistics determine who will be interested in seeing each item,
and are crucial to consider when deciding where in the museum to plaace each
item.

This isn't a specialty product itself, but it's necessary to upgrade one, |
later on. Speak with the farmer in the field in Santa Rose, and then when |
you go to rescue the man in the cave, examine the boulder that was trapping |
him in order to receive the せいなるげんせき: Holy Ore. |

Later in the game, you can give the せいなるげんせき to a craftsman in |
Elheaven and he'll refine it into the せいなるほうせき after you stay the |
night at the inn. |

Enter the bar at night, go upstairs and into the room where the man was |
eating in the daytime (he'll be looking at a pot, now). Speak with him, |
and then go see Bennet. He'll ask you if you want to learn another spell, |
but say no. After some more talking, he'll give you the local sake. |

Once you've placed the music box in the museum, you can use the |
せいなるほうせき (Holy Gemstone) in front of it. The gemstone will be |
inserted, and the value of the music box will increase to the values below. |

Note: 'the person' is named in the fairy feather pen section below. |
After obtaining the fairy feather pen (described below), take it and the |
paohm ink and return return to past Elheaven and speak with the craftsman. |
Then go to the inn and speak with the woman there to learn about the person |
guarding Martha's room's hobby. Go to the soldier and use a sugoroku |
ticket in front of the guard. Leave the painting, then enter it again and |
speak to craftsman's attendant to get the tools back. Upon returning to |
the fairy castle, the locket will be upgraded. |
