This FAQ is dedicated to Stubby. She was my sister's cat, but I was the
only person she seemed to actually like. She slept beside me almost
every night. She is still loved and missed.

The format on the FAQ was screwed up so hopefully I fixed it. I also
added a couple more thank yous in the credits section, as well as my
crappy ASCII art, which surprisingly turned out better than I had
expected, but that really isn't saying much. I also fixed a few, and
hopefully all, the spelling and grammar mistakes.

 ~1.0~
Just finished my first FAQ. I hope it helps you.

A while ago I was joking around with my boyfriend (ZoopSoul) about how
I should write an FAQ for Barbie Super Model. Oddly enough, the more I
thought about the idea, the more I thought I might actually enjoy it. I
pondered the idea for a few months, but never really acted on it.
Recently David (Zoop) and I have talked about doing a Final Fantasy X-2
guide together, and I figured I'd get a bit of experience under my belt
with a much shorter and simpler project.

Barbie Super Model is a game that my brother, cousins, and myself always
liked to mock when we were younger. Despite the fact that it's a cheesy
Barbie game, it's actually quite fun and not as easy as you might think.

Here's a little run down of what's in each section of this FAQ. In the
Controls Section I will tell you which button on your SNES controller
does what. Under the Game Basics Section you will find my tips and
hints on the game. If you look under the Scoring System section you
will learn different ways to acquire points. Under the Walkthrough you
will find step-by-step directions on how to get through each individual
stage. In the Items Section you can read about the items in this game,
and what they do. In the Frequently Asked Questions section you can
find, well, frequently asked questions. The Credits Section is where I
will thank those who helped me with this FAQ. Look under the Disclaimer
and you will find me babbling about how you can't steal this
FAQ/Walkthrough.

If you are having problems with this game and you don't see what you
need in this guide (if you are using Windows, an easy way to check if
it's there is to press CTRL+F and type in a key word in what you're
looking for) or you wish to comment on it, feel free to e-mail me at

~ While you may be impatient, much like myself, and want to speed up
most of the time, this can cause you to miss items and possibly run into
something you didn't see in time. ~

~ When you hit the camera, I find it best to focus on remembering stuff
like the hair and earrings more so than the lipstick and nail polish.
The lipstick and nail polish colors tend to look a lot like one another
so if you're trying to remember "pink" there's a good possibility you
might pick the wrong color anyway. ~

~ Whenever you see a star, be sure to pick it up. They give you bonus
points at the end of the stage. ~

~ When you get to the gym, practice your moves for the catwalk a few
times. You will need to remember them for later. ~

~ Always be alert. Once you get to the later stages, you will face more
sudden potential hazards. ~

~ If you do not like the mini-games it is possible to just skip them.
However this is a very bad idea if you are trying to get a high score.
As not only do you potentially lose points you would have gained when/if
you had gotten the parts of magazine covers right, this also causes you
to go to the gym or catwalk quicker so you do not gain the points for
just driving/walking/etc and also cuts off parts of the stage, so you
miss half of the stars you would normally get. ~

~ If you have problems with forgetting the colors of the outfit during
the shopping bag mini-game, so long as you can remember one or two of
the
colors, just try to use colors that would look good with the color(s)
you do know. This also applies to the certain parts of the camera mini
game. The nails and lipstick always match, and often times the hair
accessories and the earrings match. ~

~ If an item is close to the side of the path or near a potential hazard
DO NOT run when attempting to get it to avoid losing a red B heart. ~

~ Assuming you do not have full health or only one red B heart, if you
see a heart and are not sure if you will take a hit to get it, grab it
anyway. Sure you may lose a heart, however, once you grab the red B
heart, you will simply gain that heart back. ~

~ Excluding the driving stage, DO NOT go off the path. You will lose a
red B star if you touch the sides. ~

The easiest way to get points is to just go along as usual. Every few
seconds you gain 10 points for doing nothing than what you would do
normally, anyway. Sounds like a pretty darn good deal, right?

Another way to gain points it to collect the stars. The Yellow B Stars
give you 50 points a piece, and the blue stars give you 25 points a
piece. So be sure to pick them up when you see them.

You can also collect points during mini-games. For the shopping bag you
receive 50 points each for the right outfit, right top color, right
bottom color, and right shoe color. If you get all of that right, you
receive 100 bonus points. WOOT! For the camera you will get 40 points
each for the right hair, right earrings, right eye shadow, right nail
polish, and right lipstick. If all of that is correct you will receive
80 bonus points. YAY! When you walk on the catwalk, each move will
gain you 50 points. You don't receive any extra points here for getting
all of the moves right. BOOOOOOO!

When you first start your game you see Barbie in a restaurant imagining
she's driving. Once the game play begins, you will notice a car above
you. Speed up using Y. Once past him, move up to pick up the blue star.
Move to the lower part of the road now until you collect the next blue
star. As soon as you get this blue star move up QUICKLY, or a Jeep will
sideswipe you.

Once above the Jeep, slow down using B and stay on top. Soon you will
see a red B heart, grab it. Now you have full health. YAY! Now you
can move down and stay on the bottom until you hit the shopping bag.

This is our first mini-game! You will be shown a magazine cover. Try
to remember the style of the outfit (during the driving round it is a
casual outfit, however the exact style is random), the color of the top,
bottom, and shoes. Now pick out what you remember from the cover.
Press the select button once you pick the outfit, and see what you got
right and how many points you got!

Once you're done there, you can do one of two things; either move down
as far as you can go to avoid the two stopped cars, which is the easiest
way, or you can move to the middle and pass between the two stopped
cars.

Move up and grab the blue star. Stay up top and speed until you reach
the intersection and a white car pulls up. Once past the car move down
to get the yellow B star. Stay down here until you reach the next
intersection. At this point move up to get the blue star.

Soon after, you get to practice your catwalk moves. You may want to
practice this a few times, because you need to remember it later! When
you're ready to leave press select.

Once you are done with this, move up and go fast and you should be able
to pull in front of the pink car in time to get the blue star. Now, you
will notice a swerving green bug above you. However, do we really have
the right to criticize him? After all, we just cut off that pink car,
have driven down the middle of the road quite a bit, go as fast or slow
as we want to, and have possibly fled the scene of an accident. Kind of
makes you wonder if Barbie is somehow related to Tommy Vercetti... Any
way, don't worry too much about him; he doesn't swerve too far over the
line.

Grab the yellow B star on the bottom and move to the middle. While
crossing the intersection, collect the blue star. You can keep going
down the middle and speeding until you see a camera. As soon as you do,
move down and hit it.

Our second mini-game! This one is a lot like the shopping bag mini
game, except you memorize what Barbie's hair, make up, and earrings look
like on the magazine cover. Oh, and this one is random, as well. Once
you think you have it all right press select and see what you really did
get right and how many points you got!

Once you finish this, move down toward the middle of the road. Grab the
blue star in the middle of the road and once you do speed up. Once you
can pass the white car, move down and grab the red B heart. Keep at the
bottom and keep going fast. Once you see the next blue star move up and
crab it.

Move down to the bottom and go fast. Once you see the blue star, move
up and grab it. You can speed at the bottom until you reach the
catwalk. This is our third and final mini-game of the stage. Hopefully
you remember the combination you learned earlier. If not, it is random,
however I can give you a helpful hint: It is definitely the same button
twice, followed by a different button twice.

Once the stage is done, you can check out your score if you wish.

Before this round you will see Barbie daydreaming about roller-skating.
Once the game play starts pick up the yellow B heart in the middle of
the path. Now move up to avoid the guy that you see walking. Stay up
here to avoid another guy who is jogging. Soon you will see a blue star
up near the sand. Grab it.

Still stay high up. You will see a seagull fly out in front of you.
Slow down, and he shouldn't be a problem. Move down a bit to the lower
middle to collect the blue star. Move up and speed up past the beach
ball. Keep speeding and stay up top to avoid the Frisbee.

Now go to the middle and speed. You will zoom right past yet another
beach ball Move up and get the shopping bag. In this round the outfit
will be a swimsuit. Once you are done with the mini-game, go slow and
once the beach ball bounces by grab the blue star.

Move to the middle and keep going slow to avoid the seagull. Now speed
up and move down so you can grab the yellow B star in front of the
person that's walking. Once you get it, move up and go fast until you
see a blue star down bellow. At this point quickly go down and get it
than move up past the jogger.

Soon you will hit the gym. Practice your routine a few times, if you
feel the need. Then press start to leave.

Once you are done at the gym, stay towards the top and go medium speed.
Soon you will see red B heart, move down and get it. Soon you will pass
a walker. Once you do you can grab the blue star, then move down to
avoid the jogger. Stay towards the bottom and speed up until you see a
yellow B star. So now grab the yellow B star.

Go quickly down the middle and once past the beach ball; move up to get
the blue star. Keep towards the middle at medium speed until you see
the camera. Move down to it to play the mini-game. Once you are done
with this mini-game, move to the middle and speed up. Once past the
walker move up a little more and get the blue star.

Now move up a bit more and speed up to avoid the beach ball. Move down
and pretty soon you will see a star, grab it. This part is quite tricky
unless you know what you're doing. Move high up and go slow. Once the
seagull passes, just stay the way you are and the Frisbee shouldn't hit
you.

You should now move to the middle and get the yellow B star. Move up to
avoid the walker. Stay up towards the top and move quickly to avoid the
Frisbee. Go down the middle a bit and soon you will reach the catwalk.
In this stage the combination will have the same first and third button,
and another second and forth button.

	            *•º°º•*•º°º•*•º°º•*•º°º•*•º°º•*

This is where the game starts to get kinda tough. During this stage
snowballs will come flying at you out of nowhere. It's pretty darn
sucky, but don't worry, I'm here to help you out. :0)

Stay up at the top until you're past the ice patch. Now move down and
collect the yellow B star. Now you will experience your first snowball!
Yippy! :0P However, the snowball will land above and to the left of
the small ice patch, so it shouldn't be a problem for you. Move to the
middle of the two ice patches.

Once past the two ice patches move up carefully to get the blue star,
but be sure not to hit the guy pulling the sled. Once you get it you
can move up a bit to avoid the ice patch, but don't go too high or
you'll run into the guy pulling the sled. Move down below the small ice
patch.

Now move toward the top as fast as possible because a boy on a sled will
quickly come from the right side of the screen. Notice he's not riding
on the snow, the path is flat, and he's going so fast! It's just so
illogical!

Move up and around the small ice patch, and then swiftly move below the
big ice patch. Once past this ice patch move up to collect the red B
heart. You can keep walking where you are until you spot a blue star.
Move up to get it then quickly move down to avoid the snowball that will
land above the path.

Move between the two ice patches. Now move down slowly to avoid the
snowball, then quickly move up to the shopping bag. During this stage,
the outfit will be a snowsuit. Once you are done here walk between the
ice patch and the snow.

Now you can move to the bottom until you collect the blue star. Move up
a bit, between the two ice patches. Once past both the ice patches,
move down to avoid the snowball coming up. Move down more, if needed,
so you are between the ice patch and the snow.

Move up, so that you are just below the guy with sled to avoid the
snowball. Move quickly past him and once you are at the large ice
patch, move down below it. Once at the end of the ice patch, move up to
collect the red B heart. Once you collect the red B heart, move as high
up as possible, without running into the side, to collect the blue star.
To be honest, this is quite hard to do. If you are more concerned with
your health than points, it may be a good idea to skip the blue star.

Now you can move down swiftly to avoid the snowball and go between the
two ice patches. Walk in the center until you see a yellow B heart. At
this point move down to get it. Walk under the ice patch and soon you
will reach the gym.

Once you are done practicing the combo for the catwalk, keep walking up
top until you get a blue star. Once the snowball goes past you, move
above the large ice patch to avoid a snow ball that is thrown between
the two ice patches, being careful not to hit the top. Continue in the
middle, and past the small ice patch. Grab the red B star and then move
down below the ice patch and once you reach the small ice patch move
above it.

Stay in the middle until you reach a yellow B star. Once you acquire
it, move up and quickly to avoid the oh-so-illogical sledder. Move
under the small ice patch then above the large ice patch. Move up to
collect the blue star. Move down past where the walker is, then move
between the two ice patches.

Go down below the next ice patch and stay there until you reach the
camera. Once done, stay where you are until you pass the small ice
patch, and stay just above the large ice patch. Keep going down the
middle, until you reach two ice patches. Grab the red B heart and
quickly move down below the guy with the sled.

Stay down below and pick up the blue star. Keep down below past the
large ice patch. Once you reach the small ice patch move up above it.
Go below the next small ice patch and move up to get the blue star when
you reach it. Move below the large ice patch, then above the small ice
patch. Right after this you will reach the catwalk. During this level,
the combination will either be same key twice, different key, anther
different key, or different key, another different key, same key twice.

As the stage starts out, you will see Barbie sitting in a park imagining
she is riding a bike. Once the game play starts, you can ride down the
middle until you see a yellow B star. At this point move down to get
it. Keep at the bottom at medium speed until a Frisbee flies by and
then move up to get the blue star.

Move toward the top and slow down until you safely pass the pigeon.
Stay towards the top at medium speed until you pass the Frisbee. Then
once you reach the blue star, pick it up. Move down quickly to avoid
the very flat looking football that will soon fly at you. Move up to
avoid the walker, then run into the shopping bag. During this stage,
the outfit will be formal.

Once done move to the top and go slow until you get the blue star, then
move down to avoid hitting the walker. Move toward the bottom and soon
another very flat looking football will fly past you. Move down more,
if needed, to collect the yellow B star, then quickly move up to avoid
the Frisbee.

Once you see a jogger coming towards you, move down to the bottom to
avoid him. Stay toward the bottom and eventually you will see a Frisbee
fly past you, which should not be a problem if you are down far enough.
Soon you will see a blue star. When you do SLOW DOWN and grab it and a
pigeon will go right past you. Soon you will reach the gym.

Once you get done with the gym keep going until you see a yellow B star.
Slow down and move down low before you get it to avoid the Frisbee.
Grab it and keep down and slow, this way you avoid yet another Frisbee.
When you see the blue star, move up and past the walker to grab it.

Move down between the grass and the jogger to get a red B heart. When
you see the blue star, move up to get it, then quickly move down to
avoid the ever-so-flat-looking football. Keep going until you see the
camera. Hit it.

Once you get done with the mini game ride a bit until you see a blue
star. Move down and grab it. Keep toward the bottom, where you go the
blue star, and go medium speed and soon a Frisbee will fly right past
you. Once you are past the bridge you will see a red B heart, go down
and get it.

Move up to avoid the Frisbee, then quickly move down to get the yellow B
star. Keep towards the bottom at medium speed. In a little bit you
will see a blue star, which you should move down to get. Soon you will
be at the catwalk! This time the pattern is all 4 buttons are
different.

Once you are done, watch your "ending", or the lack thereof.
Congratulations, you have beaten Barbie Super Model. *gives reader a

		         ¦-----\Blue Star/-----¦
	                       ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
You can tell which item is a blue star, because it, in fact, looks like
a blue star. There are 8 blue stars in each round, 2 when you first
start, 2 after the shopping bag mini-game, 2 after you go to the gym,
and 2 after the camera mini-game. You can tell if you got all of the
blue stars by looking in the upper right corner before each of the mini
games, the gym, and the catwalk. If you see two each time, you got them
all. Each blue star is worth 25 points. This means if you get all the
blue stars in the stage you will receive *counts on fingers* 200 points!

		             ______________
  	              ¦-----\Yellow B Star/----¦
                            ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The yellow B stars are yellow stars with a red "Barbie B" on them.
There are 4 of these in each round, 1 when you first start, 1 after the
shopping bag mini-game, 1 after you go to the gym, and 1 after the
camera mini-game. You can tell if you got all of the yellow B stars by
looking in the upper right corner before each of the mini games, the
gym, and the catwalk. If you see one each time, you got them all. Every
one you collect will give you 50 points. Now, if you do the math you
will find that if all in the stage are collected, you will get 200
points.

	                    _____________
	              ¦-----\Red B Heart/-----¦
		             ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The red B heart is a red heart with a yellow "Barbie B" on it. This is
arguably the most important item in the game. You start out with three
red B hearts, and have the capacity for four. For the first couple
levels, you will find there are, seemingly, fewer of these than in the
later couple rounds.

Q: You say in your FAQ that during the shopping bag mini-game that the
X and Y buttons toggle the top color, and the B button toggles the
bottom. What about some of the snow suits and dresses that are one
piece and both the top and bottom change at the same time?
<><><>
A: It depends. There's a snowsuit that has designs on them and X and Y
will change the main part, and B will change the design. I remember
there being a dress with a belt where X and Y change the dress color,
and B changes the color of the belt. Another example is a swim suit
which the base is white and there is a rectangular shape on the top and
bottom, X and Y change the lower one and B changes the upper one. These
are just some examples.

Q: Are the magazine covers random?
<><><>
A: Yes.

Q: Are the moves for the catwalk random?
<><><>
A: Yes. However, there is a pattern. In the first stage, it will be
the same button twice, then a different button twice (i.e. X, X, Y, Y).
During the second stage the first and third button will be the same, and
the second and forth button will be the same (i.e. X, Y, X, Y). When
you get to the third stage there will be one of two patterns: either
the first two will be the same, and the third and forth will be
different,(i.e. X, X, Y, A), or the first and second will be totally
different, and the last two will be the same (i.e. X, Y, A, A). For the
forth stage, all four buttons will be different (i.e. X, Y, A, B).

Q: What are the mini games like?
<><><>
A: All of them involve memorizing something. In the shopping bag
mini-game you are shown an outfit for a few seconds. After this, you
try to pick the same outfit as it was shown on the magazine cover. The
camera mini game is a lot like the shopping bag mini-game, except need
to match the hairstyles, earrings, and make up Barbie is wearing on the
magazine cover. The catwalk mini game involves remembering 4 moves you
rehearsed earlier at the gym and performing them on the catwalk.

Q: What is Junior Model mode?
<><><>
A: In Junior Model mode you get to do each of the three mini-games,
except you don't have to memorize anything. You chose the clothes,
hair, make up, earrings, and catwalk moves you wish to do. To be
honest, it's quite lame. However, if you like choosing Barbie's clothes
for this you would really like the PC game Barbie Fashion designer and
if you like choosing Barbie's hair and make up, you'd like the PC game
Barbie Magic Hairstyler. These games are very similar to the mini-games
in Junior Model mode, however, are not as lame. Sorry, though, there are
no cheesy early nineties clothes. :0(

Q: In your FAQ I see some parts that don't appear to be in my game.
Why is this?
<><><>
A: You more than likely just passed either the shopping bag or the
camera, which causes you to go straight to either the gym or catwalk,
thus you end up skipping part of the stage. So don't worry, there's
probably nothing wrong with your game.

Q: Once I beat the Biking Stage, after I looked at my score I saw the
"Try Again" screen where Barbie looks really scary! Why is this?
<><><>
Apparently that is also used as the ending and the company that made the
game is very cheap. If I find if there is another reason for it (if
anyone knows, e-mail me at heavyas3apples@aol.com), I will make an
update.

First of all I'd like to thank CjayC for posting my guide at GameFAQs.
I really appreciate it.

I'd like to thank David McCutcheon (ZoopSoul). Without him, I probably
would have never even considered FAQing. Oh, and he's an awesome
boyfriend, just a little stoopid. I love you, big stoop.

I'd like to thank BTB, PsychoPenguin, and Brian Sulpher for looking
over my FAQ for me. I really appreciate it, even though I didn't take
BTB's advice about my section headers.

Big thanks to Devin Morgan and AlaskaFox for looking over my FAQ when I
thought it got rejected. I really appreciate it.

Big thanks to Meowthnum1 for sending David the Barbie Super Model ROM
for me. When I was playing the cart and had to start over so many times
it was driving me nuts. The ROM helped a lot.

Major thanks to my family, especially Mom, Dad, Gergy, and Carol you
guys rock. Lots of love to you guys. Also lots of thanks to David's
family, especially Gee and Don, even though Don says "**** ****er" and
"That ****ing Viña," a lot.

I'd like to thank Dukey, Kate, Stoopid, Franklin, Mr. Wease, Mew, Sammy,
and the kittens, as well as Gee's cats, especially Liz and Tony Twist.
These are some rockin' kitties. I'd also like to thank Hottie D, Babus,
and Honey, the coolest doggies in the world. Oh, and Debbie the (male)
bird and the fishies, too!

I would most definitely NOT like to thank the Unisex, and would, in
fact, like to give her an ass punch. *ass punch*
