1.0 - Introduction

Pro Evolution Soccer 3 is the latest instalment in Konami's
reknowned Winning Eleven football series. Featuring a
completely reworked engine, improved animation, real-life
physics and a wealth of new options, this game is an
improvement to it's predecessors and deserves a place in the
collection of every football fanatic.
This FAQ explains the usage of one of the features in the
Edit Menu, which codes to be entered and therefore unlocking
new features (of which there are unfortunately not a lot of).
It also lists all the unlockables in the PES Shop.

2.0 - How to find the Bonus Code Option
----------------------------------------------------------------------
From the Main Menu, open Edit Mode.
Open Edit Player an you will see the option, "Enter Code" at
the bottom of the screen. Select this.
You will be faced with four digits. To change a digit,
highlight it and press the X button. Press up and down to
select the required number and then press X again to keep it.
When prompted with a message of whether you'd like to keep the
changes, select Yes or No.

3.0 - Bonus Codes

I have currently found two different sets of codes. One
increases the stats of players, while the other decreases them.

3.1 - Increasing Stats
########################
Each code represents a team. For the codes on the left,
each player in this team will have five (5) points added
to each of his stats.

3.2 - Decreasing Stats
########################
Each code represents a team. For the codes on the right, each
player in this team will have five (5) points subtracted from
each of his stats.
NB: This option is presumably to reset all stats to normal if
you used the Increase Stats code, so you don't have to recitify
them manually.
The following codes will add/subtract 5 points
to/from each player on the specified team:

4.0 - PES Shop
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To view the PES Shop, go to Options from the
Main Menu. Here you can purchase secret features for use
in the game. You need PES points to unlock these, though.

4.1 - Earning PES Points
########################
PES points are the in-game currency. You can earn them
in the following ways:
- Completing Challenge Training (any challenge)
Level 1 - 10pes
Level 2 - 50pes
Level 3 - 100pes
Level 4 - 200pes
Level 5 - 400pes
- Exhibition Matches and all games - 50pes
- Winning Regional Cups (Europe, Africa, America) - 1000pes
- Winning International Cup - 2000pes
- Winning a League - 2500pes
Even Exhibition matches earn you PES, so remember to save
after each one. Obviously, the quickest way to earn points
is to play a cup or a league, on 1* difficulty and with
five minute matches.

4.2 - Unlockables
########################
This is a list of what can be bought with those hard-earned
PES Points:
EDIT APPEARANCE <HAIR STYLES> - 1000pes
Hair style setting will be added to the create player
appearance settings in edit mode.
- This option unlocks 10 new, crazy hairstyles, as following:
191 - A thinning combover
192 - A large, spherical afro
193 - Bald at the front, with a vertical, wrapped ponytail
194 - Bald, with two small, tied-up tufts
195 - A 'monk' mullet
196 - A very large, overhanging, rigid fringe
197 - Bald, with two strips of hair running on both sides
198 - Bald with hair at sides and one single curl
199 - Shaven-headed with a zig-zag running down the left
200 - A massive, Valderrama-style bouffon.
EDIT APPEARANCE <CLASSIC SHORTS> - 500pes
Classic shorts will be added to the edit team strip, in
the edit mode.
- This unlocks the fourth, and shortest set of shorts in the
strip edit. Great for classic 70's players.
EXHIBITION STADIUM - 500pes
Training field will be added to the stadiums for exhibition
matches.
- Allows you to play on the training ground during exhibitions.
Select "Club House" from the Stadium list in the Environmental
Settings Menu.
TRAINING GROUND - 500pes
An extra stadium will be added will be added for free training
purposes.
- Not exactly sure what this does. Allows you to train for free
in Master League?
BALL EFFECT - 500pes
This enables the player to apply an effect on the ball during
replay scenes, added to the environmental settings screen.
- Applys a rainbow effect on the balls path during replays.
Amusing at least, erm, once.
DOUBLE SPEED MATCHES - 1000pes
This is an option which appears on the pause menu. It enables
you to choose between normal speed, and double speed matches.
- Speed up your gameplay with this option.
FAN APPRECIATION - 100pes
You can replay the background music in the game option gallery.
- Allows you to listen to fourteen in-game tracks. Whatever floats
your boat...
TEAMS - 1000pes each
1000pes will unlock ONE of the following seven teams in the
Team Select menu:
- Classic Argetina
- Classic Brazil
- Classic England
- Classic France
- Classic Germany
- Classic Italy
- Classic Netherlands
UNLOCK PLAYERS - 150pes each
150pes will unlock ONE of the following players for Master League:

CHOOSE CLUB / TRADE FREE AGENT - 10,000pes
Add the free agent transfer and club select to the edit mode,
allowing the free transfer of players.
- This is really what you should be saving for, and is arguably
the best unlockable in the game. This peice of kit allows you to
transfer players, for free, outside of the Master League in Edit
Mode. It is essential for correcting team lineups, and you
don't have to overwrite existing players!
EDIT TEAM STRATEGY - 3000pes
Team strategy edit, which allows the creation of team strategies.
Will be added to the edit mode.
- This goes quite nicely with the former unlockable. This allows
you to alter the preset team starting line-ups, formations and
strategies for all teams.
ORIGINAL DRIBBLE CHALLENGE - 500pes
Original dribble challenge, which enables the player to create
an original dribble course will be added to challenge training.
- Create your own dribble course. Make it almost impossible to
challenge your mates.
