  Chapter 1. "What the hell?"
-------------------------------

I'm writing this FAQ for two reasons: 1) to stop those damn newbies
constantly creating the same topic over and over again and 2) because
they won't let me put this up nice and simply as a "secret" (even though
they're description of a "secret" is something that isn't obvious in
the game. But if it was obvious then there wouldn't be so many topics
asking the same question... Ah well...

Regardless, this FAQ is for the benefit of anyone who's not sure about
how to use Souls and/or wants to know what Souls they're missing out
on (i.e. you're trying to collect the lot).

Souls are like summons from other RPGs. In fact, that's just about the
best description one could give about these.

(Note: unlike other FAQs, I will not be writing a "Version history"
which nobody ever reads. However, credit will still be given to where
ever appropriate (including mentioning any spelling/grammatical errors
if the person really wants).)

-------------------------------
  Chapter 2: The Boring Stuff
-------------------------------

Actually, I would just like to point out that I do not, unlike just
about all other FAQs, care at all if you copy anything I've put here.
As far as I'm concerned, if I did say "no copying" and then found out
someone had, I'm not likely to sue. Consider this free and completely
open to the public. I do not require any form of credit as I rather
doubt that anyone would notice it and even if they did, they're even
less likely to remember "Kharnie", are they now? So please feel free
to use this FAQ in anyway you wish.

Thank you.

------------------------
  Chapter 3: The Souls
------------------------

Ah ha. And now to come to the whole reason for this FAQ's existance.
Okay, let's sort out a few of those questions you're dying to ask (or
not, as the case maybe):

1) There are only 9 Souls in total
2) I will tell you how to use them later
3) Souls do in fact vary in strength
4) I said I'll tell you how to use them later
5) No, I personally don't use them
6) ...

Anyway, I'm not very good at drawing tables so here's my attempt!
*drum roll*

         Name Bonus Kills required
         ------------------------------------------------
         Yogurth's Soul HP + 1 50
         Penn's Soul Atk + 2 60
         Golem's Soul HP +10 65
         Phenix's Soul Atk + 5 70
         Zephyrus's Soul Dex + 8 75
         Prosrepina's Soul Def +10 80
         Tanato's Soul Atk + 8 85
         Tiamat's Soul Dex +10 90
         Thor's Soul Atk +10 99

... I hang my head in shame...

Regardless, I'm guessing you can figure it out pretty okay. As you
should be able to work out, the lower down the list the Soul is, the
more powerful it is (hence the better bonus and the more kills that
are required (more on that in a bit)).

The bonuses work in the same way as other accessories, obviously.

------------------------------------
Chapter 4: Where are they found?
------------------------------------

This is another question that frequently pops up and does so repeatedly.
To answer this question in as user-friendly way as possible, I will
(attempt to) construct another table:

         Name Areas found (normal mode)
         ----------------------------------------------------
         Yogurth's Soul *Advanced Mode*
Penn's Soul Forest of Another Dimension
Golem's Soul *Dropped by Golem enemies*
         Phenix's Soul Dark Labyrinth
         Zephyrus's Soul Egual Dungeon
         Prosrepina's Soul Grable Temple
         Tanato's Soul Deol Waterways
         Tiamat's Soul Dark Tower
         Thor's Soul Dark Castle

These are the FIRST areas that these souls can be found in. For
example, Penn's Soul can be found in the Forest of Another Dimension or
any level past that area, i.e. it can also be found in, say, the Dark
Tower.

There are two have I have asterisked, since they don't follow the usual
pattern. While the table applies to where Souls can be found in which
stages of Normal Mode, Yogurth's Soul can first be found in Beast
Mountain of Advance Mode (so it can't be found at all in Normal Mode)
and Golem's Soul is dropped by Golem enemies in ANY stage. But then
again since Golem enemies first show up in the Egual Dungeon then this
is obviously the first possible place to get it. However, since this
is slightly different to the usual thing, I decided to point this out.

Oh, also Souls can only be picked up from enemies and not chests. The
only exception to this is that they can be found from the chests of
bosses. Even this, however, is different. Any Souls from bosses will
only ever be the Soul that corresponds to there area where they can
first be found. For example, while Penn's Soul can be found from
enemies beyond Forest of Another Dimension, it can only be found in the
chest of the boss of Forest of Another Dimension and from no other boss.

Note that this doesn't apply to Advanced Mode. All Souls can be found
from any enemy and from any boss (with exception to Golem's Soul which
I have already explained).

------------------------
  Chapter 5: How to...
------------------------

And now we reach the point where it seems that everyone is stuck: how
use the Souls after equiping them. For this, I will list in order of
what to do. You will need:
 - A Soul item
 - The "A" button on your GBA
 - The D-pad on your GBA
 - The "Select" button on you GBA
If you find that you are missing any of those listed above, either
you'll have to find yourself a Soul item using said "A" button and
D-pad or you'll have to see to your friend who pulled the buttons out
of your GBA. The latter may take some time, but the former should be
quite easy to solve.

Now that you have your apparatus, all you need to do is follow this
simple list of instructions:

1) Equip you Soul item
2) Go kill stuff. This is where the "A" button and D-pad will be needed
3) The number of enemies you need to kill is listed in the "Kills
required" column of the table in the Chapter before
4) When said number of enemies are killed, the words "Soul Max" will
   appear on the screen
5) The moment you press the "select" button, the Soul will be summoned
and attack all enemies on the screen. For this reason, it's a good
idea to make sure you have the max of 5 enemies on the screen at the
   time
6) Wash, rinse, repeat

  Chapter 6: That's it
------------------------

That's all there is to it. If you have any enquiries, please make sure
you've read all of this FAQ before posting something stupid in the
forums. Of course, non-stupid topics are welcomed.

If you notice anything missing from this FAQ that you feel should be
added, either post it in the forums (because unless it's something
already mentioned here, I doubt it would be that stupid) or E-mail me
  Kharnie@mail2fanatic.com
It might take a while before I reply; this is my spam E-mail. You don't
seriously think I'll be giving my personal E-mail out so easily, do
you?

Okay, legal stuff: this FAQ is completely free for all. I don't care
if you're going to take it, change the name and sell it: I'm not going
to be the one foolish enough to pay for something I typed out myself
=D.
