this was additional info you could access via your tv remote. if you typed
"888" for example subtitles would appear over the tv show you were watching, or
you could either "mix" (transparent background) to see cricket scores while
watching football for example, or just hide the brodcast program completely to
play a quiz or read news or something.

when you typed a number no "request" is sent off, you just wait until the
teletext hits that number (the number at the top ussed to cycle until it
reached your page number you want)
